For all that are confused about their activity level!!!(and also for those that arent:)
i found a great site that will really help everyone figure out their activity level and how many calories they really need...
http://www.exrx.net/Calculators/CalRequire.ht ml
intriguing...thanks!
Wow.
According to that I should be consuming about 4-600 callories more daily than I do now... But I'm losing with what I'm doing... so I think I'm gonna stay put.
this is not a 100% accurate calculator but can help as a rough estimate for people who do not know at all (it says is is using the harris-benedict formula which some argue is outdated). i had BMR measured (albeit a few years ago) and it was 1680 whereas here it says 1797 (i have tried to enter the weight i was that few years ago and my age then and the number was 1726 - i am not sure what EXACTLY i was weighing but i think i was about right) - so the numbers in my case are not very off (1680 and 1726 is not a big difference:)
That looks about right. I put 8 hours resting, 8 hours very light activity and 8 hours light activity and it told me I burn 2350 cals/day. Since I'm eating 2000 and losing half a pound a week, that's pretty much dead on.
Thank you! ![]()
wikipedia has the details for BMR and activity level with formulas. Links are in my journal. I find the burn meter is fairly accurate for me.

Great site. I did the numbers and they came out almost spot on with CC's meter. Good validation.
im happy to see people enjoyed the site:)
Not wanting to disagree with the site but it says I should be eating around 2600 calories per day, I am not prepared to try it out and see if it works as currently only eating around 1500! Could end up gaining a truck load of weight and undoing all my good work lol
Ha! 3700 calories a day according to that site. That just can't be right. I'm super tall and pretty darned active but that is a shoot load of calories.
