Not all failed over the holidays!

Quote  |  Reply

I'm hearing of all these stories from people, " I gained 10 lbs", "Gained couple of inches", "have intentions of gaining". Is there anyone out there who DID lose weight. I know I did. I lost 3 lbs! YAY. The holiday eating was not a big deal for me. Gym was close and all was a holly jolly good time haha. The only prpblem is my tiny little incy under belly pudge. Ugh. Another story for another time, UNLESSS someone can help suggest/battle this with me.
SO. SUCCES STORIES/UNDER BELLY FLAB ADVICE! Have a great new years :) Have an extra drink for me everyone!

Amber,

Congrats on staying true to your battle through the hardest time of the year. A lot of people really struggle during this time of year and you have seemed to have fought hard to not give in. My hat is off to you for this. I also stayed on track about 99% I cheated one little tiny time :) I had a piece of apple pie on Christmas day! That is it! Don't mean to brag or sound cocky but you have to have very strict discipline to get the job done.

I have not had one Soda Pop, one drink of alcohol or anything bad at all except for the apple pie in about 8 months, and the results show this! Not everyone is like this so to each thier own, you have to be able to find out what works best for you and what you can do and what you cannot do.

As far as your belly fat issue shoot me a message and I will recomend some programs for you that will help you get to where you want to be ;)

Yea, I wasn't quite as disciplined but I had chosen not to be and to maintain only. And I did just that. Nothing lost and nothing gained. Which is what i wanted and what I had previously planned so it wasn't like it was a christmas day decision or anything. I was really proud. To the previous posters and to anyone who stayed focused on their goals through the holidays: Well done and congratulations. I know it wasn't easy.

Well, congratulations. :)

Yeah, I think last night broke it a bit, but then I think to myself.. one night..defiently didn't add up to a pound, a pound is easy to lose. *shrugs* One night of guilt free happiness lol. We all deserve that though!

I told myself I wasn't going to worry about losing through the holidays....I wanted to enjoy them...and from Thanksgiving to New Years...I lost 16lbs not even really trying....I worked out but I didn't really focus on what I was eating, just listened to my body and it paid off! Only 20 lbs till my goal!

l also told myself not to worry about it, my birthday was a few days before xmas, l weigh every saturday, l was pleasantly surprised to see that l lost 5lbs after my birthday and after xmas l lost 3, who knows if l will lose after New Years celebration, but if l gain, l hope not too much. l am just glad the holidays are over, no more chocolate and cakes at work, no more yummy foods everywhere you look, now l just gotta concentrate on trying to eat right and resist the taste testings at wholefoods store...lol atleast those are good for you foods.

I made it through Halloween while still losing. I made it through Thanksgiving and Christmas while still losing.

The New Year's alcohol? Not so much.

Still, if this morning's scale reading is accurate, I'll still be logging a half pound loss over the past week. It's not my usual 1 - 2 pounds, but I'll take it.

ETA: My "official" number is taken every Friday morning. Thanks to lots of water, watching my sodium, and getting back to my 1200-1300 calorie regimen, I'm still down a pound for the week. That was educational as far as dealing with three nights of 200 - 300 calories worth of vodka goes.

i gained less than a pound.  it's all alcohol.

I'm with you, I lost 3 lbs during exam period and managed to maintain the loss through the holidays.  Congrats on your success as well! :)

I also stayed true to health goals and lost 12 pounds between Thanksgiving and New Years.  Congrats to everyone else, too!

Yup, New Years alcohol/eating while drinking was it for me . Congrats everyone! You guys are proof that you can still keep your sanity over the holidays! lol

Well, I did have a couple of days when I ate a bit more - 2 birthdays, a family reunion, Christmas...
And I've still managed to lose 2lbs in the last 2 weeks or so

I lost from Thanksgiving through Christmas, but gained a little (maybe as much as 3 lbs) from Christmas and New Years. It's not the end of the world--I know how to to take care of it. No regrets Laughing.

I had a great holidays! I worked out almost everyday, I loaded my plate with veggies and turkey and only had spoonfuls of mashed potatoes and gravy, and no dessert.

It was fun, and I felt great about being healthy.  My family was totally cool, and I ended up down a pound in that week.

Yay for me sticking to it!

Wow - way to go everyone.  Wish I could say the same.  Good job.

I did really well too. I went to the gym every day it was open (including Christmas Eve & NYE) and I managed to eat sensibly 98% of the time. I didn't binge on cookies or chocolates and I managed to just have one serving of dinner (instead of going back for more potatoes or having more than one dinner roll!) I feel good about it.
