where are you all?
No postings for two weeks! Help! I look forward to logging in every day and sharing progress and problems. I'm sure you all deserve a good holiday but this is just to say that I miss you. I'm now half way through stage 5 and lifting has become part of my routine. Still love it, even though I haven't lost any weight, I look very different and feel so much stronger.
Please come back soon.
I'm still here- except I'm currently not doing this program - probably won't be for a few more months while I am doing NROL Fat Loss programs, then going back to NROL4 Abs when my foot heals completely.
I am guessing the "look different" is a good look! I know I too didn't lose significant weight but did lose significant inches - which I think is 100times better - I would much rather look like I weight 145 even if the scale says I'm 20 lbs more!
Hope you recover quickly. I'm looking forward to doing NROL Abs when I've finished this programme but haven't heard of the fat loss programme. Perhaps I'll look into that as well. Is it another book or part of the Abs book?
The fat loss programs are in the Original New Rules of Lifting book - it was written primarily for the male animal, but the programs are very good. There are fat loss, strength and hypertrophy.
I did this program after my first time thru NROL4W cause there wasn't any other programs out there, but personally I think I'd recommend "The Female body Breakthrough" or NROL4Abs when you complete NROL4W.
The Abs is very good and I had good results with FBB as well.
I'm just doing NROL fat loss programs for a while until my foot heals well enough to be able to go back to the abs book.
Thanks for the advice, as always I will follow it. I wouldn't have even started this program without reading your postings and I've followed them the whole way through. Feel good about yourself, you've had an enormously beneficial effect on someone who lives thousands of miles away. (France) The wonders of modern technology!
Hi ladies. I am still here. I am getting ready to go to Stage 4. I am so glad to be leaving Stage 3's body weight matrix behind! I unfortunately have not been able to complete 2 sets of the body weight matrix and I cannot jump, it tears my ankles, knees and feet up! I have only been doing the program 2 times a week and am trying to take that up to 3 times a week because I know I will have better results. I have not lost any weight as my diet still STINKS! Anyway, hope you ladies have a wondeful day!
the first time I did NROL4w I too only could do it 2 times a week, and honestly I NEVER was able to do one round of the matrix.
I only saw the best results recently when I got rid of sugars, white rice/ white potato and processed foods from the diet. took a few weeks of cravings but so glad to have gotten over that.
Yup, my down fall is all the white stuff. Not so much sugary sweets for me, but those dang white potatoes, white pasta, white rice! All those toxic boxes of pasta roni's, rice a roni's, steamer bags with noodles, etc.... My dinners seems so blah without a side of that toxic white stuff!
I lost weight a few years back on the South Beach diet when I gave up all the white stuff and I just can't seem to get it through my thick skull that that is what it is going to take to get it back off!!!! Its an inner struggle for me every day!
Dbacker - you are looking great girl! You go!

You are too kind!!!
I too had lost a good amount of weight doing a low carb diet - not adkins but a diabetic based diet and then when I started eating "regular" again gained a lot back, plus I quit smoking which added to the weight gain too. I too tried to wrap my head around the good eating but it took many years to do it.
My biggest comfort food now is this darn Country Crock mac and cheese - I swear they lace that stuff with crack!!!
Still here! I finished through Stage 5 and I've been on a break. I miss lifting right now and I'm having a terrible time staying disciplined with whatever haphazard lifts I throw together. I decided to redo the stages, but mix up the order a bit - do something like 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B, 3A...etc etc etc instead of going straight through all of the stages in order. I got a bit bored by stage 5. And I want to do more squats. I think I may try NROLFabs, it might go on my Christmas list.....
Grace I liked NROL4Abs - it was very different. Not really intense until the 2nd stage, and I wasn't able to finish the 3rd phase due to my injuries and illness I got this summer so I put it on hold for a bit, I'm back to Female body Breakthrough for now then will probably redo NROL4Abs again when I finish. right now my goal is to lose some major inches and keep my weight going down or at least steady during the holidays.
dbacker - what is your plan to accomplish your goal? I have the same goal but it seems like NROL4W isn't getting me there. Do you think that FBB works better for fat loss? I'm in stage 4 and definitely plan on finishing the program. I like my added strength and muscles and how everyday activities go so much easier. I don't like that I didn't lose inches (clothes fit pretty much the same), my arms look big (added muscles but didn't lose fat), and my weight went up to the upper limit for healthy BMI. According to my calculations, I should be at an average deficit of 200 kcal - not a whole lot, and with all those estimates that go into it, I could be off and actually maintaining.
I think the eating / food guide in Female Body Breakthrough is the main reason I showed the best results - I started eating like she writes and had significant weight and inches loss, even though I wasn't doing her book at the time, I was actually doing NROL4W up to stage 3 then bought the abs book and started on that.
You may need to decrease calorie allotment if you are gaining vs losing.
Also I think the metabolic workouts in FBB were very helpful in getting me to lose some inches. I did however start taking a class that is intense work like she suggests so I think this is what helped me loosen up the inches.
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
