All those still interested in losing 100 lbs join me.
Hey everyone. Thanks for making the transition over here. We have to stick together and stay strong. Bathing suit season and smoldering hot temps are on their way and we wanna look even steamier. I encourage everyone to still post their weight loss when they weigh in but I'm not going to make it a challenge or a goal for us. We just want to congratulate your on your triumphant success. Good luck!
It has been along time since I have posted anything. I have been reading though. I also agree that it is good to see people with the same issues that I have and also watch the progress of everyone overcoming the challenges that are faced each day.
I also have not been logging anything, but I am going to start doing this again. I am glad to see a little life back on this forum and look forward to continuing this journey with all of you.
Happy Monday all...*wave*
Well I've been seeing progress though it's slooowww. I've seen 239.9 last week but it's disappeared now. *sigh* Stupid water. It's all good though, I'll see it again this week and then hopefully pass it right up. I had a goal to get to 235 by the end of the month but I don't think I'll see that number by Friday. It's cool to see the numbers go down!
I love seeing the measurements go down too...so cool. Kinda addictive isn't it? ![]()
Healthy is Happy! ![]()
Have a great week peeps...![]()
hi all,
still here, still counting, and the weight goes down! was 262, am 193, so being consistent is really paying off... have a great week!
Hello everyone.
Just signed up today and I hope I am able to take control over my weight issues! I am currently at 281. Today is the first day of the rest of my life!!!
I'm just starting as of 7/21 at 305. I think I lost some in the past week, but it's too early to tell. It may just be water weight...but I'll know more by the end of this week. Thanks for all of your inspirational stories. I find myself reading more and more each day.
that's not a good calorie consumption thing.
i am down from a whopping 282.5 (but delivery date, mind you) from Jan 28th, 6 months ago. so that's a 61 lb loss in 6 months, minus her 8lb birthweight and such. still, it's a loss...
i'll do better.. just stressing out and overwhelmed with life right now. wishing the school summer vacation didn't end until february instead of 3 weeks from now already. *sigh*
ho hum. it'll get better. you can do it newbies.. it's not easy, but it is possible. ignore me but realize there will be stresser days and even weeks! i'll get back on the wagon.. just.. not today.
Well steph...hope your doing better now. I understand about stress eating...sucks. I've been doing more of that lately myself. Tryin to get it back under control! Most of the food is healthy but still...calories are calories.
Doing better today and hopefully that trend will continue. I bought a little food scale today. Not sure if it will make a difference but I think part of my problem is I think I'm eating less than I really am. I was thrifty today and went to the local goodwill and got one for 2 bucks! Proud of that effort. I'm usually goin for the top of the line item but I'm learning how to be thrifty.
Anyway...hope everyone is on track and losing poundage! Welcome to all the newbies. ![]()

199... too much food. grr
Hi everyone. so glad to see so many log again and say hi and let us know how it is going. things are going good for me. I have a visit at my surgeon on friday, may be the last one for either 6 months or a year ( the spinal surgeon). I am at 215 down from my all time high of 280 in Oct. I have lost 52 lbs of that since feb.2,after back sugery.... I am in 18/20 top or XL, but am having to wear 22/24 shorts or pants, I don't like them to fit tight as I have a big belly. I could wear 20 maybe, but not quite comfortable with that yet. I am in a 2x bathing suit. have been swimming about 3 days a week. 20 laps, length of pool, and another at least hour and a half of aeorobic exercise etc and stretches. Remember even if you are doing swimming, or aerobics in pool you still need to do those stretches just like if you were running or walking. don't want anyone to get hurt. went out last week and kicked up my heels. hubby and I went to steak night at vfw and friends from lufkin and etoille came, another friends band from lufkin was playing. that was on thurs. hubby danced with me 8 times. he doesn't like to dance but I love love love it. always have. Some other friends asked us to go to another vfw down the road on sat. night. they have karaoke and we had talked about me liking to sing so they invited us to go with them. we had a ball. we will probably go back again. It was real touching when someone sang " God bless the USA, everyone ( including guys) got up and held hands and sang along. In a backwoods country bar, that is something to see. made me feel good. we had a ball. It is only about 8 miles from our house. we got the trop. storm in today, eduoard. luckily and blessing we are only getting rain which is very much needed. hope we get about 24 hours of the slow rain. got everyone kicked into gear anyway to realize that it can happen real quick. this one came up in less than 24 hours. hubby has been on pins and needles for 2 days. their hurricane crew didn't do what they were suppoesed to so he had to go in yesterday after getting up early to batton down our place. we are 100 miles inland, but during Rita, in 05, we had 100 mile an hour sustained winds here for over 9 hours with 115 mile an hour gust... with it taking about 12 hours for the storm to pass through. that is a long time. we were blessed that they only damage we had was one piece of tin lifting up on our carport. no damage at mother in laws. we were without power for 12 days, some even further into the piney woods were without power for over a month and a half. &nbs p; good to see the newbies. I will try to get on here and post more often........hope everyone is having a wonderful summer..............penny
Good job penny! :)
Hi all. hope everyone is having a wonderful summer. It passes all to quick. thanks Ladytrekkie for the encouragement. I see that you are doing good also, when I get a chance I like to keep up with friends journals. I have been so busy the past few weeks that I haven't been able to get on the comp. as much as I would like. you keep up the good work!!!!!kudos also for thriftiness. I have been picking up beautiful clothes at our local thrift store myself and am styling now In my younger look.stephtobea9, 61 lbs in 6 months is so awesome, you are doing so wonderful!!!! I have lost 52 since feb. 65 altogether. we all do need a break sometimes. the last 2 weeks I have not been as good as I could but not back sliding just hovering. haha. hang in there!! I can't wait to get to that size 8 underwear myself. welcome colorful. hang in there. you work with it, stick it out, it will happen... just be patient. welcome playful tippy I was 280 last Nov. you have got the right idea TODAY IS THE FIRST DAY OF THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!! ka2007 way to go 70 lbs under 200.... yaaaay!!! you are in onderland. tj_s so good to hear from you also. yes we've got to get this party going on this thread... I have missed you all!!! supernan, sounds like spree in the works. yaay for you. I hate that when they discontinue a bra or underwear I like that is the pitts. It is so hard for me to find one that works anyway. glad you are still swimming. don't it make you feel good? pancha8, I have found that it all goes out the window for me if I don't chart my food ( I do mine in spiral at home because it is easier for me) If I don't hold myself accountable I will slip into old habits, and old habits are hard to break. BUT IT CAN BE DONE!!!!!! BY REPLACING OLD BAD HABITS, WITH GOOD NEW HABITS. skorsac wow!!!you are doing great!enjoy those kids this summer and every min. they grow up so fast. great job on the weight loss. laurien2kids, keep up the good work. switching up on the exercise so I don't get bored helps alot. I also agree that the water really is key, drinking more water.. & nbsp; it is so good to see everyone that is logging on again.
well i know you are right, i am going to make it a point to start logging my food starting today and see what happens. it is just that finicially we are unable to buy the right kind of foods. I have to eat what we have on hand. but i still can record food and try to stay with in alotted calories right?
HI pancha8, there is a common misconception that people think that if they don't have "healthy food" to eat they might as well just blow it all out the window. I try to eat as healthy as I can, but am being realistic about it. rice in moderation is ok. noodles, spaghetti in moderation is ok. anything in moderation is ok. you can still count calories and keep portion size in control. frozen veggies ( broccolli and such, brussel sprouts etc are much cheaper than fresh. also green beans etc. while not as cheap as canned are cheaper than fresh. canned is ok too. just keep up with those calories and you will do fine. also try to do the lean cuts of meat, or say turkey burger meatloaf, it is real cheap 1.25 a lb here. I make about a 3 lb meatloaf when I make so I have some to freeze. everyone get those local grocery ads and walmart will honor the lowest price. I try to buy the other stores, but for the ones not local I take their ad to walmart. the store can be anywhere in a big radius. for instance we are 50 miles or more from houston, we can use their ads if we can get ahold of them......... so many are doing the ad thing now. I have been doing it for years.
Thank you for the tips and keep writing me. i did not log my food again yesterday. i just dont seem motivated to do it any more. i know i have to so that i can be aware of what i am really eating. i will try again today. howeve i did go for my walk and bike ride yesterday. I am up to 8 times around the park and i walk to and from the park. and i am also doing stretches. so not all is lost. my weigh in is tomorrow for our biggest loser II here at work. It appears not everyone is as motivated as the first time around. But some people are losing. I have basically maitain my wt i have been at 271 this around which is one pound up from my ending weight from first time. so i have been on this plateau since july 18, 2008 so something has to change.
I just joined this website a few days ago - would like to lose around 100-120 lbs overall, although I'm trying to focus on smaller intermediate goals.
I'd love to join this thread - any extra support I can get would be great!
pancha8. have you been journaling lately. haven't seen any entries for you in my friends journals. maybe journaling how you are feeling about things and about dieting would help. I find journaling helps me alot to get in touch with how I am feeling at a certain time. maybe why I am over eating or wanting to. great job on the walking. I have been swimming 3 days a week but haven't been walking as much as I once was. went swimming to tonight. did 30 laps and 1 hr of aerobic other exercise. I still need to do the walking I once was if I want to get to my goal maybe by my birthday. I am not setting ending date as I will take it as it comes and not get discouraged if I don' tmake a certain goal. do you think that maybe the biggest loser thing put alot of stress on you and that maybe you are coming back from that. you can do this. If I can I know you can so ramp it up sister and step out and seize the day. hang in there.
Well, it's been a while since I posted here, so here I am! Not much news for me though. I have maintained my weight for the last few weeks, so I am waiting for a drop any time now! :o) I know it won't be this week, TTOM!!! ugh! I still keep reading regulary & catching tips here & there so keep it up.
I'll write again when I have something to write about! Hopefully good news soon!
I have'nt been to the gym in like 4 weeks but I worked my body pretty good last week out in the yard and am sore to show for it! The kids start school this coming week so I'm going to start a new routine for exercising at the gym early mornings. OR possibly after dropping them off.. but that would take more time away from my two little girls still at home for the morning time I have with them before lunch & naptime and everyone else comes home and it all gets crazy again. I haven't counted calories much but have been active and I've not lost, but I've maintained between 221-224. I think I'll start counting calories in the next week and of course start the swimming & other gym stuff 5-6x/wk. I had hoped to be less by now but just haven't focused on it to be so, so my tentative goal is to be under 200 by Thanksgiving, hopefully much sooner! And hopefully still at my goal of 140ish by next June.
Great to see you here as usuall Penny! And everyone else, too :)
Just 4-5 weeks left of summer and here comes Fall! I love them all, but I especially love Autumn :)
~ Steph
Thank you penny, i have been thinking about my journal i will try to get to it tonight. it takes me a while to get my thoughts together. so thank you for checking on my. ![]()
