All those still interested in losing 100 lbs join me.
Hey everyone. Thanks for making the transition over here. We have to stick together and stay strong. Bathing suit season and smoldering hot temps are on their way and we wanna look even steamier. I encourage everyone to still post their weight loss when they weigh in but I'm not going to make it a challenge or a goal for us. We just want to congratulate your on your triumphant success. Good luck!
Great Job you are working it girly. I'm proud of you. If I can do this anyone can. keep going, You will make your goal size before you know it.
Thank you jerichocheyenne, you are right nothing taste as good as being thinner. I look at myself and can't believe it most days but I'm getting used to the new me for sure.
ok great to hear from you penny, i plan on logging my food again soon. thank you for not giving up on me. i am at 268 which is good i have not gain any weight back. I did go up and down between 267 and 270. so i think it is ok. i will write in my journal later ok..
New to the site, more than 100pds to lose actually.
Started eating mod plan today in prep for possible bypass or lapband. What I luv about this site is the recipe analysis feature and food log. I had started an excel spreadsheet and was searching for a recipe when I found CC.
Odd thing is that today I am only at about 1,100 cals but suppose to shoot for 1,600. I wonder if it is like weight watchers were you can bank cals/pts within the same week.
Look forward to learning more from you.
hopebear, don't want to try to sway you about lap band or bypass. just want you to seriously think about it and try the calorie count in earnest for a while. my back surgeon told me that I would need gas. bypass or lap band or he knew I would never lose the weight that I needed to lose. I told him no way no more surgery after just undergoing major back surgery. still he said I don't believe you can do it. that is all it took for me. tell me I can't do it. I have lost 70 lbs. with most of that just after back surgery. you learn that you can do it. having support is the most important thing. I was at 280 last oct. 2007 I am at 208 now. you can do it. just believe it. I never thought I would ever be here at this time last year. most of the weight I lost before july of this year.( as you lose more and more it slows down. I have about 40 to go to my goal of 160. exercise is key. what ever you are able to do. start very slow and ask your dr. what you are capable of. see how it goes for about 3 months. you may surprise yourself and your dr. if I can be of any help please add me as friend and I will do whatever I can to support you. main thing I learned was I have to chart whatever I eat to be accountable for calories I take in.( most people are not aware that they are eating over 4000 calories a day, it doesn't take long for it to add up. also learning honest portion size. and water. I can't stress the water too much. I hated water before, it has become my friend. at least 4 16 oz bottles a day. then I have whatever low or no calorie drink I want after I drink my water. also water keeps you hydrated. sometimes we are only thirsty and our system mistakes it for hungry. please please try cc and see how well you do before doing anything else. you will be glad you did. whatever you decide hang in there. I am routing for you.....lonestarpenny penny
hi pancha 8. glad you are still hanging in there. no I will not give up on you!!! glad you are maintaing and havent' gained. I have been way too lax in the last months and have to get my mojo working again. Idid manage to lose 2 lbs while on vac. no small feat, but was down with stomach bug for 24 hrs of the week long trip. ironically we did not eat a whole lot while gone, that is strange for vac, but my wish was granted when I got back and no weight gain. yaay. we had a wonderful time in tombstone az. we live our wild west dreams when we go out there. I actually lost 2 lbs and was at 208 when I got home. I guess I walked more out there than I thought. you walk everywhere in town, we didnn't move the truck but once while there for a week. my back did ok too, which is amazing considering we drove straight through 19.5 hrs. on the way down adn 22.5 on the way back. shouldn't have pushed quite so hard but hated to pay for a motel for 8 hrs and most were full of deer hunters this time of year along the road on the way back..... hang in there talk to you later......
jericho how are you doing? hope you are hanging in there. I know this is a tough time for you. hope you will continue to check in. penny
hey laurien and steph. how are you two doing. hope you are still with us. I understand it is a real busy time of year. supernan, how goes everything with you also? haven't seen you journaling in a while.......penny
hope everyone is having a good week. just wanted to wish everyone happy thanksgiving. I will be over at mother in law's for a week. am hoping to get alot of exercise in since it will be cooler this week for part of the time. everyone have a good one...... penny
Thanks lonestarpenny! I haven't been on in a long time, but am still having success! I am down 20.8 pounds, i think its .8! lol! Anyway, still hanging in there! I'm glad things are going well for you too!
glad to hear from you laurien2kids. glad you are hanging in there. It is so great that you are having success. I bet you must feel better already huh? keep in touch. I thought I was creeping up a little, but drank my full ration of water yesterday, ( 4 bottles) and found it was water weight thank goodness. so I am still at my plateau, but did not really go up. it is a wonder with all the good food I cooked thanksgiving though. I made sure we did not have a huge amt. of leftovers though. I will continue to ramp up my walking back to pre hurrciane levels hopefully. with the cooler temps ( tonight in 40's) I will be able to walk more. I don't know why but I seem to be able to walk better when it is pretty cold. For one thing I hate to get hot and sweat. It is pretty windy out so I may have to wear my sweats tonight instead of sleeveless shirt and shorts....... Hey pancha how are you doing? let us hear from you. I HAVE SOME NEW PHOTOS ON MY GALLERY OF ME IN TOMBSTONE IN MY 1880'S DRESS IF ANYONE WANTS TO LOOK. TALK TO YOU ALL LATER......PENNY
Guess everyone is real busy with getting ready for christmas. things going ok here. had that cold that has been going around and not been very good on my exercise the last few days. did real good while over at mother in laws for 10 days during thanks. walked for an hour every day and did pilates 30 mins. a day. today the scale showed me 208. I was so excited. holding my breath though to see if it will give it to me again in the morning. it has been really toying with me these past few months. I haven't had much notable loss in over 2 months. hopefully this will be the start of a downward trend. hope everyone is doing well. keep those calories under control with all the holiday parties coming. you will be so glad you did when the new year gets here. I have got to be real good this week since we are going to hubby company party on fri. night. they are having casino night and mex. food and drinks. will be a dress up affair. I am looking forward to it........ merry christmas everyone.
Merry christmas everyone. guess this thread has totally fell off. miss all you guys. if anyone is interested in keeping it going send me a shout. merry christmas everyone. I am still hanging in there. trying to exercise alot to offset all those christmas treats................ merry christmas penny
well i am new to this group and currently weigh 240 pounds and would like to get down to 150-160 (although the charts tell me i should be a 140 but i think i would look funny) but any how .... i am looking for support. my problem is at night eating ... eating too much like popcorn or stopping and getting fast food. i am trying to prepare more food at home but hard to make it taste good. thanks
Hi sdduhart
I'm cyndie and I was over 250lbs when I started you can do this. I just celebrated the holidays in my new body without having to take the surgery route. I ate well and exercised and lost over 80lbs since March 2008. You can do it don't give up and forgive yourself for bad days and keep moving in the right direction. I would still like to loose another 20-30lbs and plan to start on that this week. The Holiday's are really hard with all the parties but it can be done.
start weight 253lbs
current weight 165lbs.
don't know if anyone ever checks in on here anymore. I am still hanging in and doing my exericise and counting calories. I am at 206 ish now, and really haven't lost much since sept. I did however measure the other day and have lost quite a few more inches. I have a 37 inch waist now, I am in a 19-20 pants, and 18-20 shirt or XL. cyndie I am so happy for you that you have done so well. I have lost about 75 now and still working on 20-40 more. take care everyone....
