All those still interested in losing 100 lbs join me.
Hey everyone. Thanks for making the transition over here. We have to stick together and stay strong. Bathing suit season and smoldering hot temps are on their way and we wanna look even steamier. I encourage everyone to still post their weight loss when they weigh in but I'm not going to make it a challenge or a goal for us. We just want to congratulate your on your triumphant success. Good luck!
I normally weigh myself on Mondays, but, for some strange reason, I felt the need to weigh myself today.
What did I find? I haven't lost a single pound yet. I know this is no reason to panic because it has only been a few days since my last weigh-in, but I still feel discouraged.
Do you think I'll manage to still lose 1-2lbs by Monday? Or is this week basically a lost cause?
*Is hoping people don't start throwing tomatoes at her for feeling discouraged over something so ridiculous* ![]()

You know, I have been weighing myself ever day to catch the fluctions and there are a lot. I know the feeling though but realize it is part of what we go through. I have even gained from one day to the next. I think even one week to the next!
But believe me I know EXACTLY how you feel about it. I think it is a matter of getting in touch normal fluctuations and having faith that it will work and making adjustments along the way. But maybe you don't need to change anything unless you get stuck for several weeks. Some things I have seen jack up my weight the next day or slow it down.
- High sodium the day before - or heavy excercise -- count on some water weight
- Bowel movements - those can make a difference
- Bad sleep [don't know why?]
Hey Indi- Yes we do have close to the same stats! Cool! It's nice to have people in the same boat as you!! Good luck to everyone!!
So far I am down 6.8lbs this week....I know all water. But hey- I will take it. I have kept my cals around 1200 daily! I just need to keep working on the exercise part!!!!
Hi Jerichocheyenne & everyone else!
Boy, have I missed you guys! My computer has been on the fritz for about a week now and I hated not being able to log in to read everyone's progress and to log my own! I am glad to see a new thread too, it didn't take me too long to find it and so much less to read to catch up!
As of my last way in(when my computer was cooperating) I had lost 3 lbs in 1 week after only losing .4 before that. I will be weighing in tomorrow (that is when I have always weighed in-before the weekend torture) and I am feeling a loss!!!
It's kinda funny that right now I feel lighter, but my numbers aren't showing it as much. My clothes are showing it much more, and of course I don't mind that. I think I would be happier seeing the clothes numbers go down more than the scale numbers. I just want to look good and feel good!
As long as my computer continues to cooperate I will be checking in on this new forum and reporting my progress!
I've been so bad at logging lady sorry everyone. I slipped up for the last few days yes me. It was a social thing. I feel so rude when we go to friends houses and they make food and I'm vegan so I don't eat anything. I feel entirely rude. Plus these are new friends not old ones. They understand but I still feel rude. So I started having cheese again and wo nelly. lost control. suddenly lots of carbs and cheese full of cals. Then on top of it I'm extremely stressed and hormonal and so it was a big ole mess. I'm back on track and trying to get my head back into the swing of things. Not being able to work out just killed me mentally. I'm an all or nothing kinda person which is dangerous I know. I'm trying to work on it. I have a question anyone on here want to be my partner for Biggest Loser Couples. I'm trying out for the season coming up. I have a friend that might do it but won't commit. I need to send in my info immediately though. Anyone interested? I'm very competitive so I know we'll make it through.
Jerichocheyenne I think you do a great job of keeping up with all of us and I always look forward to your comments. I would never be able to do it, I would get very confused!
I have a friend that is new to being a vegetarian, she still eats cheese and eggs, just no meat and she recently told me how gelatin is made and she doesn't eat anything with gelatin in it either. I don't know if I could ever go with out some meat.
I have totally wished that I could be one of those people on The Biggest Loser, but would never be able to get on that great big scale in a sports bra and spandex shorts on national television...NO WAY! I am too self conscious of my body right now, but good luck finding someone to participate with you. I'll watch for you on tv next season!
I am happy to report another 2.5 lbs down! Yippee!
I'm a beat them or die kind of person so I'd work like crazy in competitions. I'm not athletic or coordinated enough for sports but working on a machine I can do! And I've never cared how dainty I looked when working out and sweating hard. I'm not really shy and could care less about how I look on tv because I'd know that I wouldn't actually look like that when the show actually aired and I'd look all the better! Well, hopefully I'd be on there long enough to make a difference, too, to be worth it. My husband has said to truly go try out if I wanted to and he'd take care of our six children on his own, which I think he could do. It's tempting!!
But, alas, I'm really determined to get in shape even without a professional trainer or 'fat farm' experience! (Said lovingly and because I can say it 'cause I am! LOL) In packing up our winter clothing to bring out the spring/summer ones I'm not even saving my currently sized clothing unless it's my favorite and I can wear it when thin, like a sweatshirt or something. I still hang on to the baggy sweatshirt days :) LOL I'm old! (31)
Good luck finding a partner!
~ Steph
I tried out once for the Biggest Loser, but didn't make the cut. :(
I'd be interested. :)

I would do it if I didn't have a newborn baby and am nursing her! I couldn't miss out on those newborn and baby days with all the milestones she'll reach. And she's likely my last child by birth (always hoping to adopt someday).
Good for you! I nursed both of mine for about a year [when they lost interest on their own] and they grew up very healthy kids and my daughter nursed her own kids in spite of badly inverted nipples [I really respect her for that one] -
I got to admit though -- 6 kids -- I bet you are an old hand at this!!!
I hope it is ok to join in. My starting weight, in January, was 311 pounds. Last week I was 284. This week, I am 278. My goal weight is 139. My total weight loss will be 178 when all is said and done. My husband only recently found this forum and I signed up about the same time he did. he is also working on losing 100 pounds or more.
Hello everyone! I hope you find a partner jerichocheyenne! I would offer to be your partner but a) I live in Canada and b) I'm still going to university. Boo.
Anyhow, I have a question to the ladies:
What happens to your weight when you're on your period? Does it usually go up? If so, why? What happens after your period?
Well...I'm sorry jericho. I gained a pound this week.
I'm pretty upset about it because I did everything right...or so I thought. I didn't skip my cardio, ate healthy foods for the most part...the only thing I can think that happened is I lost momentum when I went to that womens luncheon this week. I really don't know. It's depressing! One pound may not sound like a lot but to me it's horrifying because I've been trying so hard. *sigh*
Gotta press on though...todays a new day.
Hope y'all have done better than me! :)
inditwarrior - I would love to know what all you do when you try out for the show. What are they looking for? What do they say and do ?!!
Wishing I could, but determined on my own anyway ...

Hi all! It's been a few weeks since I last checked in.. I'm still going strong I lose 2 pounds a week and even tho that is good it drives me crazy! I was eating 1200 cal but my Dr. flipped and said I have to eat 1800. I go hiking for an hour and 20 min once a week, about 30 min cardio 4 times a week and also do strength training 4 times a week. I don' t know what else could be done to lose more weight. Any suggestions?
I'm not an expert but I'd say follow your doctor and start eating 1800 calories. You seem like an active person and your body probably needs more calories (or else it may go into starvation mode).
Also, since you're doing strength training, you may be gaining muscle so you may not be losing as much weight as you want, but you could be losing inches.
Sounds like you're on the right track! ![]()

ladytrekki - Oh, please don't be so upset over a 1 lb gain. It could be water, or your body holding on a little for some reason but if what you're doing has been working and you've been doing it still, then it'll come off.
Thanks Steph...I guess it must be water weight. Just sucks is all. I even went and got a new scale cause I thought my old one was lying.
LOL!
Hi Jerichocheyenne and everyone. Thought I would put down my stats. start weight 275-280( didn't weigh when I first started) weight after back surgery 267.Feb/6-- weight upon starting caloriecount.com 250 ( mar 20) current weight 235. goal weight 160ish. I am 5/6" and it suggest 140, but in spite of my small frame, I am very curvy so I think 160 is more the number I should shoot for. I am becoming more active since coming out of the back brace, but have been walking everyday since my surgery. I am now up to 3 miles a day and sometimes do 4miles. last night I added one lb weights on arms and legs, at my Dr.'s suggestion. He said to gradually add more weights as I am able. I am avg. about 1500 calories intake. so since the start of my weight loss journey in Nov. I have lost apprx. 40 lbs. It seems to take me about a week to 9 days for loss to show up. then it will be 4-5 lbs. weird. It seems I have lost 15 lbs since starting cc.com a little over a month ago. I will try to post more often, if I am home. I am really enjoying the kinship of our thread I tell everyone that this a great site, and has been a great motivator for me. I haven't felt alone in doing this. I am so looking forward to the day when I am below 200 again. I know that it seems I am taking weight off a little fast, but my surgeon has suggested this so that I can get the weight off my back as soon as possible.. ( a good goal is 1-1/2 lbs a week. ) I have been avg. more. congrats all, on hanging in there. we will get there!!! penny
I count my calories daily but I eat whatever I want within them. Even candy bars or cheeseburgers! But, because I do like to eat in general and feel better when grazing throughout the day, I tend to eat more protein and fiber rich foods, small portions, and drink mostly water or crystal light (my dh got me hooked on CL)!
Like the other day I really wanted a dessert (xango) and also to try a drink (horchata) at a Mexican rest. so I did! It threw me probably 1000 calories over that day but I thoroughly enjoyed myself, don't feel guilty, and just contiue to eat better other days.
I don't want to look back and mostly remember how miserable I made myself denying me everything, I want to note that it was when I started exhibiting self-control against gluttony!! But as the Hebrews say "To LIFE!!" ( la hiem ?) !
I hope others are having a good weekend! :)

I think it's good to remember that this is our life and not to just the road to a goal (being weight right now). We're here to enjoy our lives with friends and family! It's okay and Good!! to splurge occasionally.. it makes those times even more special and looked forward to!!
