All those still interested in losing 100 lbs join me.
Hey everyone. Thanks for making the transition over here. We have to stick together and stay strong. Bathing suit season and smoldering hot temps are on their way and we wanna look even steamier. I encourage everyone to still post their weight loss when they weigh in but I'm not going to make it a challenge or a goal for us. We just want to congratulate your on your triumphant success. Good luck!
stephtobea9, Good answer on how to address those 100 lb folks that say they are fat. Very diplomatic-will have to remember that. Tj_s you are welcome and coming along great I see. Welcome Michellerc with your extensive injuries ( rehabbing) can you get to a pool? The pool is the best therapy and exercise for working out after injuries and puts very little stress on joints, but gives you a good work out. See if your area has a Y or a local pool, check for water aerobics classes or think about maybe a friend has a pool or a subdivision with a pool. If you haven't taken pool therapy yet, talk to your dr. about it. would be a good idea to get a professional to help you with what to do then you can do it on your own later. would only take about a month of going, then you could do it on your own. Good job ka2007,7 lbs is wonderful and doing something you enjoy, priceless ( gardening). about the food, one free day helps me during the week. Not to go overboard but to have something and not count calories. mexican food or chinese buffet are usually my choice. benpen, I too hope to be to my goal by christmas, but won't sweat it if it takes longer. I know it will when I get closer to goal, because the less you need to lose the longer it takes. I try to keep ramping up every few weeks changing things around to keep the burn up. Pancha8 welcome we are just here to support each other on our weight loss journey. Whatever you feel comfortable with you can report weekly stats if you wish or at whatever interval. If you don't want to post your weight or stats no problems. Just do whatever you feel comfortable with and jump in on forum. We try to help each other by telling what we are doing to lose weight, exercise etc. What you do may help someone else, etc.kemccl welcome to the thread jump on in anytime. I have 73 lbs left to lose but started out needing to lose 120. laurien2kids,hopeyour week is going good. longwaytogo 9.4 lbs in a month is phenomenal, way above average. Remember we are trying to change those habits so we don't want to lose to fast. you should be very proud. slainna, good to see you again. wow below the 200 mark. whew. Here I come trying to catch you. 185 you go girl. I know what all you have been through and how hard it has been. sorry if I left anyone out. Smile at yourself in the mirror when you brush your teeth. Say good job!!!!!!!!!! Have a wonderful rest of the week everyone & nbsp; Lonestarpenny
Hey y'all I just figured something out. Depending on HOW you stand on the balance your weight will vary. I can get up to a 3.5lb variance by standing different ways. [weight on heels vs toes, feet towards center vs outside]
For those of us getting wracked up by a lb here or there we need to be aware of this.
My balance is a Taylor digital balance.
Well I can tell the 'water weight' has stopped coming off. I dropped 2lbs this week. The scale said 279.6 (yay the next decade lol) That brings me to a total of 13.2 lbs lost in 2.5 weeks :)
HOpe everyone is doing well....and oh yess I can releate to the aggrevation of opening a forum topic about losing weight, and it being someone around 120lbs trying to get to 110lb... it's aggreavting! But to each their own :)
well thank you lonestarpenny it is good to know that i can share my journey with you guys that have 100 or more to lose. it is sometimes difficult to share my struggles with someone that only has 5 lbs or 20, not that they do not struggle but i guess you know what i mean.

Pancha, I think you should be very very proud of your loss so far. Wow that is a good rate but not too much.
I think we pretty muich write whenever we feel like it. A lot of us also keep journals and add folks as friends so they can keep up with our journals. I write every day and comment every day on others' journals.
I would love to add any friends who like to journal. [still like to post on the thread but if I put all I put in my journal on this thread it would overlaod it!!!]
I will be 53 in August and am currently at 251 - started April 2nd and have lost 10.4 lbs so far. It seems tougher now that I am older but it is what it is and I can either make excuses and stay fat or get over it and loose [also post menopausal - had surgical menopause at 42 - ovaries and uterus]
geesh. I was sick...again. So here I am playing catch up...again. It's my hubby's bday today and mine's on Tuesday. I'm looking forward to baking and I even got signed up for a chocolate class. I'm going to take what I learn about truffles and adapt it to a healthier version. I'll let you know how it goes.
Hey Jericho...sorry you were sick. :( But have fun baking...and Happy Birthday!!
Update for me...
Current weight: 251.8 lbs
Last weeks weight: 255
Starting weight: 266
Finally headed the right way again!!

I would think just make sure you are consistent in how you stand.
Well, I am a little depressed this week, no change in my weight! I know it happens so I have accepted it and will just work harder next week. I'm glad to see so many of you doing so well! Keep it up!

I think quite a few of use have been or are going through weeks like that. I know how you feel because my past few weeks have been tough too.
To give you an idea 4/28 [251], 5/11 - [250.6] with a lot of ups and down in between - two weeks 0.4lbs and that assumes tomorrow will not be an up day.
I think that is just part of the way it goes. Take comfort you are not the only one. I would love it if those who have already lost a lot of weight have some advice for getting through these periods - it is like a mini-plateau
Have good news after two very tough weeks [good enough to post on top of my current post].
Down 2.2 for the entire week - with a reception, a graduation, and Mother's day. Yay!
I am also going to shed something else every 10lbs - an excuse.
This 10lbs my excuse to shed is "my slow metabolism" - it IS very hard for me to loose weight but I have lost at the rate of 2lbs / 1000 calore defecit. So it is probably just average or I would be lossing less. But that means I have to keep my ass in gear even when I don't want to walk.
At 20lbs, I am going to start some level of weight training and will look for advice on heading towards washboard abs and no "wings" on my arms [
] - ok, I know, reality check - 52 years old, surgical cuts from a hysterectomy and 2 c-sections -----well, my belly may never be pretty but that is ok]
One thing very helpful is the support from folks who have been my "journaling" friends. This is very helpful and I hope I am helpful to others aswell. We can all push and pull each other when we need a hand.

i gained 1/2 a pound on friday's weigh in at work. current wt 278. oops. Mothers day etc etc. i know no excuse, just stating facts. ok back on track today. will post wt on monday. thanks.
I know that this will be long but I am trying to get everyone in. sorry. michellerc, 30 mins. driving with these gas prices might be steep, but if you can work in other errands you need to do in the city that will help, pool therapy is wonderful..( I am from small town texas (orig.) pop. 305 then, 285 now, so I know about small towns. we had to drive 45 miles to town where most shops etc were. I am in town of 7900 now. whoo hoo. uptown. we do have a city pool and some subdivisions have pools. longwaytogo, thank you for the info about scale. I had wondered why if you swing back and forth it would change. just figured I needed to be still. c-andice, congrats on 13.2 lbs in 2.5 weeks. that is wonderful. pancha8, I am not sure when we were orig. posting our weight, but now we do it whenever we get the chance I think. There aren't really any stringent rules. We write whenever we feel like it or have time. Give tips that have helped you or get advice from someone else. If you have a bad day or whatever you can tell us about it.( and of course good days too!!!!) congrats on all your hard work so far. the weight loss is amazing. Hi there jericho-cheyenne. Sorry that you were sick! Happy birthday to your hubby and to you very soon. Have fun!!!!! welcome tatetribequeen, Jump on in and enjoy the ride. congrats on the weight loss so far. Laurien2kids, hang on!!!!!! Sometimes I go for10-14 days before I show a measurable loss on the scale. Then boom, seemingly overnight I lose 5-7 lbs. weird..... If you are consistent then it will happen for you. I have been at 232-233 for about 10 days now I think. don't give up!!!!!! Adding weights on hands and feet,( at some point) small weight 1/2 -1 lb at first then adding more as you go along, will help when you hit a major plateau..I started weights after I had lost about 35 lbs or so from 280-to 245, but that was after ramping up the walking from 1-3 miles (sometimes 4) over a 3 month period. then I added the weights.(slowly) Hope everyone had a wonderful mother's day weekend. I cooked seafood, oysters, shrimp etc for my mother-in-law,and we partake too. It was so good. We can get fresh seafood about 45 miles from our house, we are not that close to the gulf, but some of the fisherman have oyster houses etc in the county seat of our county, they fish out of a bay. we are about 2 hrs from galveston or boliver ( or so). hope you all have a wonderful week....lonestarpenny
I can't believe how fast this thread grows. I'd believe that's a good thing though, right? So finally all the bdays and celebrations are out of the way and now I can get on the straight path again. I've eaten so bad this past week and I feel like poo. I'm still getting over being sick. I thought it was allergies but it was something more. I'm having problems getting focused right now and I don't know why. It's like my mind is completely and totally somewhere else. To everyone that is still losing and staying strong you are truly amazing. Losing weight and winning the battle with bulge is very difficult. It's for sure an addiction and not just a matter of losing weight. Good luck to everyone. I'll try to be more social with y'all. I've been reclusive lately due to my lack of staying motivated and shedding the inches.
Hey Everyone! I've got to lose something like 135lbs. Crazy, I know! But thats what happens when you just dont care. So sad!
Anyway, I was wondering how ya'll are doing?!
I just started about 2 weeks ago and so far I'm doing very well. I'm very proud of myself! I do believe that this time is IT. In March of 2009 I'll be 30 (boo) and I have a goal to look HOT by the time I am 30. I refuse to be a fat 30 year old. I'm too young to be this fat. And of course its a health issue. :) But honestly for me, its all about being hot! ha ha ... I want to blend in with all my friends. NO more being the "Fat girl" in the group of hotties. I'm gonna be a hottie with them!
I look forward to seeing how great you all do. Its exciting to have other people going through the same things as myself.
Hey everyone! Sorry for no responses lately - just got back from two hellacious weeks of work. @_@
Still on track - haven't seen any weigh-in's this page, hope everyone's doing a-ok!
