I hae now started this program my first week what do you think
It's a very intense workout but is BRUTAL on the joints. As a former college football player (a lineman at that) it's difficult for bigger people to do. But nonetheless it works. My buddies from school did it and there are few substitutes for that intense a workout.
Another option and one that I prefer is CROSSFIT....... This stuff is NUTS.....check out www.crossfit.com if you are interested.
I'm in my 6th week of P90X and I love it. Yes it is really intense but it really keeps me motivated. It also assures me that I'm doing an effective workout and not just wasting my time at the gym kinda going through the motions. Everytime I'm done with a P90X workout I'm soaked in sweat, when that happens on a daily basses you know you're going to lose weight and that you're not wasteing your time. I say keep it up, and if a workout seems a little intense like Tony says hit the pause button for a little and then start right back up and through the weeks work towards not pausing at all, I know the first time I finished a video without pausing once it was a huge accomplishment and felt great. Also like they say if it's too tough try the modified moves they give a modified (easier) move for almost every workout they do in the videos.
(this is my last P90X quote lol) "Do your best and forget the rest"
Oh and take before and after pictures one now, one at the 30 day mark and another at the 60 and 90 day marks. This is keeping me motivated because i'm really seeing a difference in the photo's and it's a big motivational boost.
good luck
yeah im a p90x'er. i followed it to a T back in dec/jan (except for the recovery drinks....pfff i didnt have enough $$$ for all the xtra stuff Tony wants me to buy)
ANYWAYS. i got HELLA skinny and stong. i got soooo many complements from ppl how i havnt seen in a while telling me how LEAN i looked!!! YESSS!!
well....ive moved. and havnt done it in a while, so i gained about 8 lbs. not feeling so lean now. i will start it up again as soon as i get it out of TMO (my husband is in the military sooo we move ALOT) storage.
My husband and I bought it. I was scared at first. Im over weight and have never been strong. I have really enjoyed it so far. Im in the second week. Im hoping that combing it with a calorie counting diet will work. My advice is to take before pics!! And measurments.... youll be amazed.
My fiance' and I are in week 7. I can see a huge difference in muscle tone and weight dropping as clothes are fitting loose (Not looking at a scale). Definitely take the 30/60/90 day pics and measurements.
Like another post mentions, you are soaking wet after almost all the workouts, expecially plyometrics! But you feel great. It is very intense but I prefer that so I feel better afterwards.
