I was 177.5 on Saturday, so down another 1.5 lbs. I feel good and I'm starting to notice a little difference in how I look...or maybe my mind is just playing tricks on me. :)
CONGRATS to everyone for working hard last week! And special congrats to kimaloo for hitting such a big milestone! Keep up the good work!
As far as workouts go...I've been alternating between riding our recumbent bike for 30-40 minutes, swimming 2x/week for about 30-45 minutes and doing my workout dvds. I have a bunch of them, but the only one I've been doing lately is my Slim in 6 video. Lots of squats and lunges, push-ups, etc. It's a good strength workout to balance with the cardio.
Congrats Rachael, Laura, and Ruth on another great week!
Tiffany - I'm right there with you; up a pound from last week thanks to my monthly visitor. Good thing it is just water!
CW: 188 (+1)
I was actually down all week, but then woke up this morning to a surprise on the scale. Oh well, it'll be gone in a couple days...
On the workout front, I do brisk walking almost every day (1-3 miles), exercise videos from time to time (when no one is around!), and strength training with bodyweight and resistance band exercises.
CW: 169 (+-0)
Well, I'm really disappointed already! i weigh exactly the same as a week ago. and i haven't slipped up at all. It's so annoying, missing all those treats for what feels like nothing. I exercise at least five times a week, I try to run for 20min a day. sounds like i may need to do something else as well.... I suppose I could go to the gym adn use some of those machines. I like the stair master, there is nothing that hurts more. I wont be able to walk properley for a few days but hey I'd rather have ppl looking at me cause i walk funny than because im over weight.
CW: still 189 (was 188 midweek)
*Booface*
I cheated the whole week. Never counted. But kept a mental log kind of. It's been one of those weeks. i'm startig to wonder if I can do this-- if it's worth it. *shrug* The upside (if there is one) is that I feel so horrible for it that I am determined to actually go to the gym and count tomorrow.
I did this last year when I got to this weight (original weight was 214 in Jan.) But I keep sabotaging myself. I dunno why....
Anywho, congrats to everybody!
Have a great week!

Hey guys... Sorry that I'm late posting this week. I was out of town yesterday with no internet. (I felt like I was going to die.)
But great work everybody and don't lose hope at those little plateaus... we can do this! :o)
It's that time of the month and I'm at 209 currently. I haven't been counting like I should so I'm not going to see the scale moving like I want it to. I've got to stop letting things get in my way. I've lost 25 pounds...I know I can keep doing this.
CW 209
change: +0.4
Sorry I haven't posted... my scale is broken. At least, I think it is because all of a sudden my husband and I BOTH registered a 5 pound loss overnight. Before that happened I was down to 224.
I am BROKE so I don't have the moolah at the moment to buy a new scale... so I'm a bit frustrated.
CW: 182.8 (-5.2)
This is obviously two weeks of loss, as my monthly visitor brought along a good deal of water weight last Saturday.
Hope everyone has a great week!
Looks like this thread is already dying out... :(
CW: 180.4 (-2.4 since last week and -12.6 since starting the challenge)
Anyone else?
I have been counting and exercising and haven't lost an ounce in weeks- so my theory at this point is why bother? Eating the 1200 calories and walking and swimming and chasing 3 kids works as well as appetite suppressants and ice cream sundaes. Congratulations to those of you that are losing and getting nearer to your goals.
Aw, you sound kind of defeated, Amanda. *hugs* I'm sorry you've been having such a rough time.
Are you sure that 1200 is actually enough calories for you to lose weight on? It sounds like you may need a few sundaes just to convince your body that it can let go of its reserves. I (paradoxically) lose less weight when I eat like a squirrel and lose more when I eat more than 1200 kcal - including my fair share of candy. Please, don't let yourself fall into the all or nothing, deprivation or excess mindset on weight loss. Sometimes trying to be an ascetic hinders more than it helps!
And remember - you CAN do it!!
i sure feel it is dying out i wish at least people d let us hear how they r doin
we all have moments of weakness and it is ok to fall off the wagon
or even realize that the goal was too ambicious any way i thought of changin it to 25-50 lbs in 25 weeks
more realistic i guess
thx corey 4 continuing postin wish u all luck in the world
Amanda believe me it is worth it it is ur health b4 ur weight
as 4 1200 cals while exercising and chasing kids i think u r way below ur needs
believe me am losing at 1300 more than i did at 800 cals
eat more and lose more just do it right u can
as for my weight this week
am really happy this morning am 193.5 so i lost 2.5 next week i ve my TTOM and i needed this push
i wish i can get below 180 b4 july
good luck 4 all
Sarah - Great loss this week! I think you will definitely be at 180 by July, if not sooner!
I hope people aren't giving up because the goal is too ambitious; I know I probably won't hit the goal, but I want to push myself anyway. The way I see it, any loss is a victory and any gain is just a temporary hurdle to be overcome. No matter how long it takes to get healthy, that time would pass me by anyway, so I might as well make the most of it now.
I guess I have motivation to spare! Anyone need a cheerleader?

Willing to join. I'd already lost over 10 pounds, and my 50 pounds temporary goal is set for August 19th - so it'll be another 10 pounds for the additional month, and that's that ;)

*starting weight, as of today: 244 pounds
*goal weight ( by sep 19th): 194 pounds
That'll take me 10 pounds closer to my 150, or a bit less, overall goal ;) I have a large frame and I'm kind of muscular (skating will do that), so that take me splat in the middle of my healthy BMI range if I input my frame and current fat percentage.
In my defense, I completely lost the link to this place, so it's not like I was avoiding it ;)
May 2nd, 2009 - 232.6 pounds (-11.4)
i sure didnt mean to imply u were avoiding it or anything
i ust thought that may b people stopped posting coz may b they were discouraged to post if they werent losing as much as they hoped to
so i thought some encouragement wont hurt as i hope when i fall of the wagon or go into a plateau that someone would remind me am not alone and encourage me to get back on track
also am becoming very obcessive about this whole weight thing that i sometimes 4get people have lives and other things to worry about than tracking every ounce up or down
finally congrats on such success u go girl
hey sorry i dropped off the face of the planet, things have gotten crazy here in my world...trying to move onto the next phase of my life and it's not going as smoothly as i'd like. anyway I according to the weight here and what i'm at now i lost 4.4 lbs. Seems like everyone's just chugging along. Great job!
Sorry i meant chugging along since the last time I was here. I understand the stalling/gaining thing, i mean just look at the last few post i put up. Sorry Sarah that it seems like this is dying out. Hopefully things will pick up again and understand that weight loss is EXTREMELY tough to go at alone.
Just keep working hard, and if you feel like nothing you're doing is helping may post here what you're doing and another set of eyes can see something you're missing.
i am having a rough week and i have gained 1 lb - probably retention coz of monthly visitor- i have felt heavier and bloated all week
but it should pass am heading on to a hard week
ve joined the biggest loser challenge and anxious about 1st weigh in thurs
hopely gonna lose enough b4 then
Hey y'all!
Sorry I haven't posted. been crazy busy with exams and such so I haven't even weighed myself for a while. I think i gained a little though. Probably 193 now....
Congrats to those who are still losing! This week is my start-over week! yay!
Hi everyone,
Glad that people are still around! I didn't get a chance to post on Saturday because I have been absolutely swimming in blue book exams that needed to be graded :P I used to think that taking an exam was the crappy part of the deal until I realized that I've never spent 30 hours taking an exam (upon second thought, that is unfortunately untrue... but I have never spent 30 hours taking an in-class exam, at least). Anyway, I guess it is all about your perspective. [Good luck on your exams, Victoria!]
On topic, I'm at 178.4 today, but TTOTM is coming up so I assume I'll be gaining in the next few days.
Hi guys,
Sorry I haven't been around. I was laid off at the beginning of April and then my computer died. I've been called back to work now and parts should be arriving any day now for my computer so hopefully I'll be able to post again.
