i am new at CC . i really love the idea of healthy free forum where there is actually helpful feedback and valuable data

yet i really need continous motivation as most of us do

i am on my final year medical school so in few month am gonna be very busy and need to remain on track

i have been dieting consistantly for 3 weeks and already reached plateau

so i need people with same goals so we could help each other reach our aims

2 lb a week is a healthy target specially for those having to lose more than that

so if u want to join this challenge leave your data as follows

Hey y'all! i finished my exams. most of them went okay and i passed all my classes!!! (C or better) YAY!!!

Here's the bad part, i just weighed myself and apparently i didn't do as well with keeping up with counting (estimating, really) as i thought. I'm up to 196. That's about where I was at the beginning of March. Yell

BUT, an upside to this, is that I figured out that my cable has exercise tv on demand. so i started Jillian's 30 day shred today. and it's free. i don't know how long i can keep it up, but the squats today killed. lol

Laura: Sorry to hear that things weren't going your way, but I'm glad things appear to be moving back in the right direction now (work restarting, computer parts, etc.).

Victoria: Yay for passing your exams!  The On-Demand exercise videos are sooo convenient; they also have a website that has some free videos as well.  I like to pick a few of the shorter workouts to get some variety in instructor, style, etc.

Anyway, for the first time in over two months, I woke up and didn't even think to weigh myself.  I think that is a good sign, as it means I am no longer as anxious about the day-to-day results.  So, my weigh-in this week is actually from yesterday:

CW: 176.0 (-2.4)

On a mysterious and possibly TMI note, TTOTM did not arrive as scheduled.  It could just be late (weird for me), but I wonder if maybe this is a sign that I'm losing too fast or something.

Ok, my weigh in today was at 209.6.  That makes me +1 but I also haven't been able to log for 3 weeks or so and it's TTOTM so I don't feel too terribly disappointed.  It was this time last year that I joined CC and lost 25 pounds in about 3-4 months, maybe I can do it again.  Here's hoping.

Corey, I wouldn't be too concerned (unless it doesn't start at all) mine was also a bit late starting.

Thanks for the reassurance, Laura! Maybe it's National Late Ladytime Month and I just missed the memo ;)

Anyway, I bet you can do 25 lbs in 3-4 months; it's just all about taking it a day at a time!

congrats on passing ur exams victoria i certainly know what it s like to try keep on track with exams , just a small quiz can ruin a whole week-

corey i think it is gr8 u r more conc on the total loss rather than day-2-day it really can get obcessive and take over our lives

as 4 ur TTOTM i dont think it should b a problem if it is only a few days late

u may see some ireeg with time and amount if u r losing too fast but i dont think that is ur case

 

as for me i had the worst week ever , i ve been depressed and irritated and the scale didnt make things better , for 2 weeks i ve gained and lost the same pound

finally today after a very long day at school , i went home to find i have finally below 193 (192.8 as a matter of fact)

it is not a gr8 accomplishment or anything just it is a relief am not stuck in that dreadfull plateau

i know am gonna go thru plateaus along the way but i dont thing it should b this soon

 

 

Sarah: Sorry you've been having a rough week; school can be a bitch.  It's funny, a lot of us here are working on some of kind of degree (undergrad, grad school, law school, med school) and seem to have a lot of the same stresses!  Anyway, I spent the first ~10 days of this month going back and forth between 180-181, but I found that once I broke through, I quickly made up for the stall.  Sometimes the short (less than a month) plateaus are just water weight disguising your actual losses.  Hopefully that is the case with you.

On a happy (?) note, I am now on the ladytime train (or, if you prefer, the Water Weight Express) -- the train was just 10 days late.  Okay, maybe this is an analogy I don't want to draw out... ;)

I have'nt spoken on here for a month! Not my fault - I'm in the army and was away from computers/internet/showers/warm beds/EVERYTHING for a month. so im really glad to be back in civilization.

Any way so i now weight in at 165 lbs. So i lost 4 lbs in 4 weeks. not great i know but its something right? and im back in control of my diet (at army we do not get to choose what we eat and i have no way of knowing how many calories are in the food). i can also exercise again - so gym here we come.

 im pumped cause i know im going to achieve this goal, for years ive been trying but this time im going to come out healthy and on top.

keep up the good effort, every lb you lose shows.

Its Saturaday! At least here in Australia. i put on one pound so im now 166lb.   :( I kindof went a little crazy this week - buffet seafood restaraunt. i thought i was strong enough. obviously not. and the next few days the buffet style eating continued... at home. but back in control now. expect good results next sat!

Bek: Welcome back!  I think you probably deserved a week of buffet after the month you had!

Victoria: Haha... I love those weeks when I lose a bunch of water weight (even though I know it isn't actually fat).

I'm at 175.6 today (-0.4), so not a huge loss but I should have some water weight of my own to shed in the next few days.

this week has been so strange i went a little loose and ate more than am used to

and actually didnt have a decent work out -except for the usual 30-40 min walk to school- yet i kept on losing miraculously and am down 3.8 lbs

i really cant believe it , it is probably has been water wait as victoria - by the way congrats on amazing 4lbs- but i wont be any less happy :)

i lost 28 sofar since march 1st , and finally people r noticing it

i know it doesnt matter what people think or c , but is actually nice to hear it and feel it is visble change not just in ur mind

Sorry, busy weekend and I lost track.  My saturday weight was 208.4 so now -0.2.  Hopefully I'll continue to move downward from here on out.

Woo, I'm finally starting to see some movement.  207.4 today so I'm now -1.2

plus half a pound. therefore 166.5 now.

its a bit confusing really, im exercising a heap more - on average an hour a day and my calorie intake is still 1200cal. its annoying. On the plus side a fitness related test i do for work has improved immensely. But i want to see some change on the scales. i have a suspicion it might be that im not drinking enough fluids, i defiantly dont have my 8 glasses of water a day, more like 2. i will make myself drink 2lt a day this week and see if it makes a difference.

well done to those who lost last week!

I'm down to 206.6 this week (although I did see 206.0 on Wed) so that makes me -2.0
