Ow. On so many levels.
i had already partially pulled it hiking that morning. i am feeling sooo brilliant. lol we had to stop on the trail for it to stop spasming.
good morning, folks. :)
I plan on making apple strudel for the first time using homemade phyllo dough!
This is tastier, but less destructive than CDC's excitement.
morning den mother of iniquity! (i practiced hard to remember that).
so I bolded the part I had to add to the tree story to make a little more sense. I'm so out of it.

zounds. homemade strudel is no easy task. good job :)
My Pie and Pastry Bible makes it sound like a snap. Says it takes less time than pie crust (which I have down to a science). Possibly, the author is insane though.
i can't wait for her to mail me some of that apple strudel.
My uncle is a pastry chef/instructor in San Francisco. He sent me a recipe for strudel that had more steps and instructions than a Six Sigma quality manual. My aunt, ever the pragmatist, added a footnote: You can also use store bought phyllo dough.
I totally would CDC, but the last time I mailed you a present you called in the bomb squad, for some bizarre reason.
I don't want my strudel detonated.

cutting down trees in the backyard - one got away and fell into another tree. Cut that tree. fell. 1st tree falls into ANOTHER tree. its a big tree and they cut it to fall a certain way and it starts to fall the wrong way!! they tie it off with rope and then they ahve to get wenches, its gonna fall on our house or neighbors house(this is a sucky story without coffee BTW)
well they finally pull it down and it lands on the grill on the pool cement area. breaks the grill into a bazillion pieces and crushes the concrete - we can see the backk of the inside of the pool. the frame. its a 9 foot 6" crack/crater in the concrete.
but it missed the house!
there are still 4 more trees to go, half of them closer to the house and all as big as the big one that busted the concrete.
Yikes! We have 5 old Poplars that have to go - but of course I planted 4 lovely Beech trees underneath them that I don't want damaged. We had a tree service out last week for an estimate: $1,700 + taxes! Holy crap!

and your paying these people?
i hope not to much
That ain't nothin' split. I paid $1450 in February to get one oak tree down. It was over 130 years old. Poor old thing.
Joe - Send me your address (if you want). No strudel, but I'll totally send you some homemade goodies!
so in other news how was everyones weekend?
I got 20 ridiculously tall trees knocked down in my backyard for free. My cousin needed firewood :-D
Morning all!
as far as tree removal goes it takes a lil bit more time but if they use a logg truck or tacator they can cut the tree in sections and fall it that way less mess and no collateral damage
Yeah, that's how they did mine. And all the tree guys were hot black Irish guys, except for one scary looking dude with a beard down to his gonads.
