All I want is chocolate today

Quote  |  Reply

The past couple of days I haven't done so hot on the eating thing, or drinking for that matter, but today all I want is CHOCOLATE and I don't even eat the stuff anymore. Geez.

And I don't think it's my monthly reign over the world either. any advice on how to curb it?

have you been eating wrong foods or not eating very much?

try increasing your water - most people say you crave sweets when you are thirsty

wrong foods. And not too terribly much. but drinking last night made me go over. and then the chocolate today...

So, eat some chocolate!

As long as it fits in your count for the day don't even worry. When I restrict myself I end up bingeing on things that I couldn't have but always craved. Just stick to dark chocolate in small portions.

I wish I had an answer. Yesterday I craved peanut butter/ banana on bread and gave in. I had 5 pieces of bread 3 tablespoons of pb and 2.5 bananas. May not seem like much, but that stuff's pretty caloric and I ate it all on top of my regular meals.

Sometimes I crave chocolate too. I find that a damp banana rolled in Nesquick satiates the craving; and it's not all that bad when compared to say a chocolate bar.

Damp strawberries rolled in nesquik is an even better choice since strawberries are sweeter and lower in calories than a banana.  Nesquik powder is pretty low in calories too. I think it's 60 calories per serving (2 tablespoons.)

If you don't like nesquik, you can use a better chocolate source. Maybe even real melted chocolate! Surprised Since you'd be eating mainly strawberries, you may be able to aportion a reasonable chocolate serving and still be fully satisfied.

Haha mortalmonkey, I'm the same way. i don't even know why I love pb with bananas on a wheat bread slice soo much. It is soooo adicting.

God, why! You're not gonna believe this, but I MUST have a pb/banana sammich now! That's just great! Surprised

I'm new to this website (and this is the 3rd attempt i'm gonna make at keeping the weight off.)

This is my first post, but i was thinking earlier, "How the hell am i gonna avoid chocolate..." I almosted wanted to cry when i read the packet of the big bar of choccy in the fridge. So I decided by treat would be an options Hot Chocolate (I'm from UK.) So its like Orange Hot Choc, I love them, as it's a hot drink its last a while for me (More than any bar.) and is 33kcals.

I did look at the other hot chocs and they did have a bit more (like 50kcals) so maybe consider having the odd hot chocolate to satisfy the taste?

I buy the big Lindt dark chocolate bars (80% coco) and I eat one square nearly every day. I never crave chocolate otherwise - so I'd suggest not eliminating it totally.

Yeah, I agree.  I eat a square or two about every other day of 85% dark chocolate, and I never crave it.

I agree with the previous posters-dark chocolate is very good for you (in small quantities, of course). On the other hand, a way to fight cravings, at least temporarily, is to just get to do something else. Call your mom, pay the bills, start cleaning the bathroom, answer that e-mail from your friend that you have been meaning to answer for a while, iron those pants, experiment a new hairdo, check out a fitness website, put on your Ipod and start dancing, write your diary... works for me. Then again sometimes you just gotta have it. Then go ahead. Life is too short to always be on your toes.

I would tell you get some dark chocolate and have a bite or two.  That's how I kill my cravings.

My BIG treat lately is a Healthy Choice Fudge Bar.  When I am really craiving something this hits the spot.  B/c it's ice cream it last a little while and is only 80 calories for a pretty good size (I often will plan this out in my daily calories, something to look forward to!).

eat some chocolate! it will make you happy! just because its chocolate doesn't mean it has to be THAT bad for you. If you like coffee (i love it) and have access to a whole foods/trader joes..they sell these 120 cal packets of dark chocolate covered espresso beans. I swear 3 or 4 of these guys will curb your chocolate craving and give you a little kick. I carry them on me at all times. They're also fair trade!

I always crave chocolate. So this is what I do...I have a bit after or with eat meal. I might add a tsp of chocolate chips to oatmeal, and I have a square of dark after lunch and dinner. That way, I am not depriving myself but am sticking to reasonable portions.

Oh my goodness, I live for those dark chocolate expresso beans. I have to keep them on top of my fridge because they are so hard to put down. I LOVE THEM!!!!
