An Allergy?

OK, I'm experiencing a really weird sensation that I've never had before. It's a dull throbbing pain in the back of my throat, almost to my neck ... If I had to describe it simply, I'd say it feels like I have a headache in my throat. I'm not sure where it came from, but it's been goin' on, off and on, since the middle of the night last night. I was wondering if anyone else had ever had this happen before, and if it could possibly be an allergic reaction to something I ate.

I DID try new foods last night ... whole wheat spaghetti noodles, healthy choice spaghetti sauce, ground turkey, and breyer's heart smart ice cream ... not sure why they'd do anything though, or what it could be. :-\

nope, never had that sensation before. Maybe you are comming down with some type of virus or something.

I hope not, LOL right now (midterms next week) I can't afford to get sick!

If it persists into tomorrow, I'm gonna make a visit to the campus nurse and see if she can tell me what's wrong with me.

Thanks, so do I, lol. I'm just hoping it goes away and is just some freak thing. (A girl can hope, right?)

it's probably just a virus (i know.. that sucks) but when i used to get strep (which is a bacteria but same sensation) i had "cramps" in my throat before the spots started up, that's what it felt like.. cramps especially when i swallowed..  i got strep 2-3 times a year from the time i hit puberty (13) until i was about 28.. i'm 33 now and haven't had one since (get this) september 11, 2001.. that was the last time i had strep throat.. weird eh? i was getting ready to go to the doctor when it al happened.    but anyway.. my guess is it's a "bug" of some sort.. an allergy would swell up your throat almost immediatly after eating a food that you are allergic to making it easy to know kind of what you are allergic to..

you can always hope babe!  you will be fine.  try drinking some hot tea. is there anything in the food you  have NEVER had?  I cant eat anything with Aspartame...gives me a horrible headache and makes me feel sick

see I didnt want to say strep...but probably what it could be. LOL go to the nurse girl

i'm just a joy aren't i? haha.. but yeah.. go to the nurse no matter what!  it's nothing to play around with

Hmm, it seems to have calmed down over the last few hours ... still comes in tiny bursts though. I think I'll just wait it out til tomorrow, if it's still there after my botany lab, I'll head to the nurse (can't go before then, as I'd hafta get up at like 5 to do it). I'm hoping it's not anything to worry about, as I don't feel crappy in any other way. Usually when I've gotten strep in the past ... it's come with other feelings too. This is just all-around weird, lol.

keep us posted.. :)  if you aren't feeling crappy any other way i wouldn't be too worried.. but do do do go to the nurse if it is still there tomorrow.. :)  stay healthy!  :)

OK, I'm feeling better ... and I'm gonna chock this one up to stress. Stress really DOES do some funny things to ones body, and it wouldn't surprise me if that's all it was. Not to mention the fact that now I've got a stress headache. Gotta love it, lol. Thanks you guys, for your replies and for caring.
