Hi All,

I'm new to CC and to the Allergies group **waives to everyone**

I have a question about medications:

I have year round allergies to dust, pollen, mold, pet hair, etc.  For the past 4 years, I have been miserable.  Sinus headaches, constant sneezing, runny nose and eyes.  It's been awful.

My doctor recently put me on Flonase (the generic actually) I love, love, love it!  I can breathe through my nose for the first time in years.  But it's a steroid, and I'm concerned about the long term effects.  I know it can cause bone density loss, wait gain, fluid retention.  None of those sound great, since I'm trying to be more healthy and lose about 50 pounds eventually.

Has anyone here had experience with long term steroid use and the side effects?  I've tried other inhaled allergy medicines, mostly antihistimines, and they don't work at all.  Now that I've found something that works, am I going to have to give it up??
