Has anyone tried Alli pills?

I recently got some but haven't used them.

Do they give you jitters??

And have they worked for you?

I recently read an article about Alli pills and how they cause a little bit of a ... messy problem. Undecided

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19587389/

I've heard the same things as the above link.

I do remember their commercials saying there were no jitters.

Not worth the possibility of anal leakage! Be honest with yourself and what you put into your body. Stick to a well-balanced diet, cut out the crap food.

ive used them and had very little problems. however they did not help me in my weight loss. i have found that doing it the hard and old fashioned way works best.

Okay...here is what I know about Alli due to a very close friend who used it for about 6 months.  (she lost close to 100 pounds over about a years time)

1. If not used properly, you can have very messy side effects along with stomach cramps etc.  However, following the directions closely, you should not have any side effects.  She never had a problem with it.

2. It's a fat blocker, not a stimulant, so no you will not have any jitters.  It will not make you feel funny at all.

3. She's wasn't sure if the fat-blocking mechanism of Alli really worked or not, however she was so afraid of the possible side effects that it forced her to follow the directions to the T, therefore she was very successful at her weight loss.

4. She also followed a restricted calorie diet at the same time of about 1400 cals per day.

I would say go for it, as long as you are commited to doing it properly.  Stick with it and you will have great results.

Everyone I know that has used them told me as long as you eat how the plan tells you that you won't have any "messy" side effects.

Follow the directions carfully ... Or you could end up with no control over your poopers. Sorry to be so blunt

I used them for a while.  They are a great encouragement to eat lower fat.  I think that they helped me break through my first plateau, after my first 15 lbs.  I continued to use them for the next 15 lbs. I stopped, because as I got closer to goal, I wasn't seeing the results, and they are too expensive.  (not counting repurchasing underwear).

Absolutely no jitters... just GI issues, sometimes.

I tried them for a short time.  I think their real purpose is as a motivator... who wants to leak orange oil from their anus? That does happen if you go even slightly over the fat intake allowed!  If you're at home, it's gross, but you can change.  Imagine it happening at Old Navy.  Not that I speak from personal experience.  Of course not... Embarassed

For the most part I stuck to the low fat plan and had no problem, but then I started thinking... if I eat low fat, these pills are not doing anything. Why not just eat low fat and not take the pills?

They are not meant to be taken so that you can eat all the fat you want and have 1/2 of it blocked because the side effects of that are just too extreme... in my opinion at least.

Maggie

I did'nt notice a different in weight loss. I stuck to it for a month thoughInnocent

Eating fat is not what makes people fat.  Eating too many calories is what makes people fat.

Skip the pills, save some money, and count your calories instead.

Since I began taking the pills on Feb. 1, 2008, I have lost 100 lbs. In the ten months that I have been taking them, I haven't had any "messy accidents" on myself. I take them at work, home, and when I'm out of town. They have really helped me loose the weight that I have lost so far and I will continue to take them until I reach my weight loss goal. And also, no jitters at all. Good luck to you in whatever you decide to do!
