I just tried the unsweetened vanilla for the first time this morning and I LOVED IT! I nuked it with my morning oatmeal - sooo good. I know it's been around for ages, but it was on sale so I decided to try it...
I assume it's going to work out great for everything I'd normally use milk with...do you all have any extra creative ways you use your almond breeze??
Unsweetened Almond Breeze is so awesome!
I use it to sub milk in my "milk shakes" of 2 cups ice, 2 Tbsp cocoa powder, stevia/splenda/whatever, 4 ounces almond breeze & some water when the blender sticks. Lately I've been adding peppermint extract, you know, to be all festive. HUGE 20 calorie milkshake = AWESOME!
I also like it over puffed millet with some cocoa powder and stevia/splenda/whatever. HUGE bowl of "cocoa crispies" for under 100 calories. Amazing!
Awesome ideas! Thanks!!
it's really tasty if you warm it up and put pure maple syrup in it!
hrm, it's okay, but i like soy milk better, because almond milk seems to have 0 nutrition. it has like 1 g of protein or something while soy has 7,8 grams.
Almond Breeze is fortified with calcium and vitamin d like some soymilks are. Almonds are super nutritious, loaded with potassium, magnesium and vitamin e.
I eat my protein.
I have it with all bran and pour cinnamon on top. sooo yummy!
.5 cup all bran + .5 cup unsweetened vanilla almond breeze + cinnamon = 100 calories of pure, satisfying deliciousness!
this thread inspired me to buy some yesterday. i used it in my oatmeal this morning. worked like a charm. and the liquid calories i saved means i get to eat more later. it's a win/win situation. woot!
Unstweetened Almond Breeze is great stuff!
In my opinion, although it has half the calories, it tastes much better and creamier than skim milk and it doesn't have anything artificial in it. You can add stevia or splenda to sweeten it if you like.
It is refreshing to drink plain but also great in any recipe in place of regular milk. I use it in my smoothies and on cereal.
I love it too - I make lattes with mine. They are only 40 calories (4 oz almond breeze + 6 ounces of coffee + 1 packet of splenda + 1 tablespoon of sugar free syrup) and fabulous!
