Almond butter...Whats the deal?
So I've seen almond butter mentioned a few times in healthy recipes and snack ideas on this site...and I was wondering is it supposed to be better for you than say peanut butter or what not?
Almonds are one of the best sources of vitamin E and magnesium, and a good source of fiber and phosphorous. potassium and iron.
When compared ounce for ounce, almonds are the nut highest in protein, fiber, calcium, riboflavin and niacin.
A wonderful food, eat up!

sorry this is not related to the OP's question but I wanted to ask about the best nuts that have highest in Omega3? is it almonds or pecan? I did some search online but couldn't find an answer.
On top of all that, almond butter tastes yummy!

I can't believe this. Flaxseed oil has more omega3 than flaxseeds? why?
I LOVE almond butter. It has much less sugar than peanut butter. I love it as a nightly snack on a banana.
Jameroo23 - the omega-3 that is in flaxseeds is only in the oil component in the flaxseeds (because it is a type of fat). Flaxseed also contains a bunch of other components (protein, fibre, minerals etc). So, when you remove the fat to make flaxseed oil, it has a higher proportion of omega-3. Hope that answers your question!
