This is an easy, but time-intensive process. Save lots of money making your own yogurt at home. You can finish it overnight while you sleep. You can use any kind of non-dairy "milk" (soy, rice, almond, coconut milk), but the nutrition analysis will change. This also works with cow or goat milk. Choose a yogurt starter with live cultures. You can thicken with 1/4 cp tapioca starch AFTER IT'S MADE if you want it thicker. For complete reference go to crockpot365.blogspot.com

Recipe Ingredients for Almond Milk Yogurt (homemade in crockpot)

8 cups Almond breeze
1/2 cup yogurt, nonfat, plain

Recipe Directions for Almond Milk Yogurt (homemade in crockpot)

  1. Use a 4 qt crock pot.

  2. Wash thoroughly crock insert, lid, 1/2 cup measuring cup, small bowl and tablespoon and rinse with boiling water. Set aside.

  3. Pour half gallon (8 cups) of almong milk into crock pot and cover.

  4. Heat on low setting for 2.5 hrs.

  5. Turn off crockpot and let sit undisturbed for 3 hours.

  6. Take out 2 cups of lukewarm milk and stir in yogurt starter.

  7. Return to crockpot and mix into remain milk with tablespoon.

  8. Replace lid and cover whole crockpot with heavy towel (do not turn heat back on).

  9. Let sit overnight (or 8 hrs).

  10. Refrigerate and enjoy.
