Almonds
If you can't get them in Djemaa el-Fna, just get them raw in bulk from your local health food store.
Unfortunately they will be pasteurized now, if you live in Caligula's American empire.
The dietary experts state you should eat RAW almonds - not cooked! Cooking destroys the healthy oil content in almonds.
Get them at Whole Foods if you can.
I love Blue Diamond unsweetened vanilla Almond Breeze and I love their almonds, too!

hscher is right, raw is better.
But the California Almond Board - who supplies 80% of the world's almonds - has decided that to address the fears of salmonella (there have been two outbreaks in the last 5 years, neither with organic almonds) they will now pasteurize ALL the almonds. Most processors will be using PROPYLENE OXIDE (nasty toxic stuff, once used to make racing fuel!). Whole Foods will only sell almonds pasteurized by steam. Not raw, true, but steam is a better alternative than a petroleum product used to make bowling balls and foam car seats!
I've never bought from these guys, but they claim their almonds are not pasteurized.
I see this thread is old but I wanted to add that there is a yummy ..maybe not so great for you almond that is my new friend. It is made by Emerald..they are called Dark chocolate cocoa roast. I know i know...chocolate! They are dusted with dark chocolate cocoa powder so it gives you the flavor without all the guilt. A 1 oz serving provides 150 calories 13 grams fat 6 carb 3 fiber 1 sugar 6 protein...all in all not bad!!
