almost 11pm...craving some milk..suggestions pleasee :)
I'm thinking..smoothie..? or something? with milk?
Maybe use 1/2 cup of milk and whatever fresh fruit you have on hand (maybe add a little fruit juice if it's not too many calories) and put it in the blender. You're going to have a hard time keeping the calories low enough though. Milk has a lot of calories.
milks good for ya!!!!! i love a glass of the whole good stuff.... like a mini meal in itself it's so healthy! drink a glass in the sun and get some vitamin D!
any other milk suggestions? Is soymilk nice? I've heard something about unsweetened CHOCOLATE milk, almond breeze? apparently very low in calories? MM :P:P?
Be careful with soymilk, as it can have a lot of sugar and calories. Just enjoy a glass of the real stuff, if that's what you're really craving!!
I have tried the Chocolate Almond Breeze and to me it's not very good at all.
Lite Soy milk is great in cereal and other things, but some people don't like the taste of it. I drink soy milk b/c I follow a diet low in animal protein. It's very healthy.
If you are mostly a real milk drinker, try one serving of skim milk or 1%, with fresh ripe strawberries (blueberries are great too), and a little splenda. Put it in the blender and you'll have a nice sweet treat.
i say just drink some milk and suppress the craving
One cup of skim milk is 90 calories. Just have a glass! :)
If you want a smoothie, the half-glass of milk with frozen fruit is a good idea. Half a cup of skim and half a cup of frozen berries would be about 85 calories. Half a cup of skim and half a banana would be about 100 calories. Add a touch of vanilla and some ice cubes and that's an awesome snack. :)
Yum, now I want one lol
PS. If it's just before bed you might not want the fruit due to the sugar keeping you awake. Milk actually is really good for helping you sleep so you might just want to go that route.
Milk is good for you. I get the 1% fat free and have 2 cups a day. Chocolate in moderation is also good.
Nutritionists will tell you that if you crave milk a lot, you are missing nutrients in your diet. You should try taking a supplement to reduce the craving.
lite vanilla soy milk yum! i was craving a glass last night around 11pm and promptly got myself a glass - only 80 cals/1 cup :)
How about just 8 oz of skim milk?
Mix frozen fruit with the milk for a shake. Can also use the oxymoron sounding Fat-Free Half and Half. I cut my aging bananas into slices in a plastic container layered with 2 layers of Saran wrap. It comes out easily and makes for great shakes and smoothies.
