I was just wondering if all of you eat when you are hungry. For me I am supposed to stick to a 1250 calorie diet a day & sometimes I am just starving.
A part of me feels that I should stay within my calorie limits & another part of me is feels that my body is telling me to eat. Usually when I get to this point I just have a hard boiled egg or a piece of fruit....any other suggestions for "filling" foods.
Thanks :)

Well I don't, but I don't often get hungry 'cept this time of night. But I'll drink some water and all will be good.
Edit (sorry I'm a dolt) Welcome!!

I'm no expert, but I've was told that if you drink a glass of water & wait 10 minutes, the hunger will pass if it isn't "real hunger". If you are still hungry after the wait, then eat. I've tried it. It has kept me from a bad choice many times. Nice to meet you.
I wanted to agree with kse on this - there are all sorts of situations where your brain sends out the 'hungry' message - if you're thirsty; if you're tired; if you're cold; etc. Something that I do is make a mental inventory of all of these things - am I cold/thirsty/tired/...? If I am one of those, I'll try to fix that, and then see if after a few minutes I still feel hungry.
If so, then I use delaying tactics until my next scheduled meal/snack. That's one of the great thing about having several small meals/snacks through the day - if it's 1:30, it's much easier to say to yourself 'just hold off til 2:30 or 3:00 and then eat', rather than say 'damn - gotta wait all the way til 6:00 for dinner. I might as well grab the first thing that comes to mind.'
Almonds are a great thing to have on hand at all times - just have five or six of them if you're hungry, as they give all of your eating processes (chewing, taste, ...) a good workout, but won't give you empty extra calories.

i'll agree with kse and david- when you're hungry, have something to drink, and tell yourself that you can have a snack in 1/2 hour if you're still hungry. 1250 is kind of walking the line, just ballpark it between 1200 and 1300- you want to change up your cals some anyways so your body doesn't settle into a rhythm- and if you still need a snack 1/2 hour after you drink something, a high-protein snack (like those almonds or the egg) should keep you feeling fuller, longer.
