I Always Feel Like Somebody's Watching CHAT

Stupid GEICO commercials!  If anybody has a better chat title, let me know. :D

The Union president seriously harshed my mellow yesterday.  Of course he was calling me about his favorite pet topic of excused absence (that ass is always trying to get something for nothing).  I've asked him before to contact the employee relations staff with his moronic nitnoid comments and not to contact me directly.  I'm not paid to deal with him; they are.  I despise that man and can't stand talking to him.  I dislike him so much, it makes me wish bad things would happen to him, which upsets me to no end because I'm a kind, gentle, decent Christian woman.  I'm still ticked off because now I have to fix something that doesn't need to be fixed.  Arrrrghh!

woah. Is this the way chat will go today? Do we not realize that this is Friday and thus (despite the freaking rain) it's all blue skies and butterflies and fluffy kittens and whipped cream and and and come on man, it's Friday!!

Hope today is better for you, Shnitzel.

Also, I've just had bacon for breakfast so it must be a good day.

*wanders in* I've been up for and hour 45 minutes b/c i took a friend to the airport.  good news is I get a hot breakfast b/c I have time to spend in the kitchen!! which is also good b/c there is freaking snow on the ground outside!!!

and i'll go to work a bit early and hopefully leave early.

TGIF!!!!

You betcha we are watching you. We monitor all net traffic.

** notes that the description includes "decent" but not "good". **

Hmmm there's a meanstreak well hidden some where. It's balanced out by the good stuff, but still it is there. I feel sorry for the union guy.

*sigh*

Sorry to start chat with a bitch session.  I'm working from home today and I also have a sick little boy to take care of, so I'm a little stressed.  I've been up since 4am, went to Walmart with my wide-awake, sick 5-year old, to buy more medicine for him.

I'll perk up as soon as I rework some work that was worked by someone else.  Ugh.

edit: If you knew the union guy, you'd dislike him too; he's very self-centered and doesn't really care about employees.  Definition of Jerk ---> picture of union guy

On a good note, though, Ben & Jerry's has released their limited-edition Ginger Snap ice cream (aka Festivus).  So, I'll suspend my boycott of Ben & Jerry's to go buy out my local Giant's supply later on this morning.  Yummy.

I still remember as a young engineer I sat and waited for the pipefitter to come to connect a quick connect coupler because the union guys threatened to put in a grievance against me if I decided to do it. 3 hrs later he showed up, looked at his watch, looked at me, smiled and said: "Break time".

Any more wonder why Detroit is broke?

Aww what's the little boy sick off?

I think he's a got touch of flu - fever, cough, runny nose.  He's sleeping right now.  Good, b/c he needs the rest.  He'll probably wake up wanting to play his new Clone Wars video game.

I'd put the blame more firmly on poor management than the Unions.  Unions haven't always had that great of a track record getting what they want.  You think of the failed big strikes of the past, like the Homestead Strike.  Modern management simply lacked the ability to play hardball with the Unions when they made those concessions in the contract.  Unions may have demanded it, but management agreed to it.  Who's the bigger dummy?

 Giddy up, giddy up 409...

*continues pontificating*

Look at the more recent failed Northwest strike, as well.  Seems to me the Big Three lost their spines when it came to the UAW.  There are always scabs running about... :D
