I've been consumer around 1200 calories daily for the last month. I've lost about 6 lbs but constantly want to eat. I eat a lot of fruit, but lately this doesnt hold me over as long as it use to! Are there any low calorie snacks that will fill me up?

how much are you wanting to lose? Have you thought about eating a little more maybe 1300-1400 a day. That might help with the hunger and still be able to work it off. Try eating a filling breakfast, that really helps me. Drinking lots of water. Bananas are pretty filling and carrots are good too
Try eating more protein like lean chicken, turkey and egg whites. I find that a small amount of protein helps more than stuffing myself with carrots and celery.
You may not be getting enough calories for you height and age....check and see...I only eat 1200 a day and I am finding that somedays I get really full and dont want anymore. I will share one menu that I have eaten so maybe you can go from there.....
Breakfast: cereal, fresh pear, water to drink
Lunch: 1 tbs. peanut butter on whole wheat bread,
100 calorie snack, flavored water to drink
Dinner: one piece of flounder
1/2 cup green beans
small side salad
one hush puppy
tea with lemon to drink
Snack: popcorn with flavored water to drink
Now you have to consider I dont have very long for lunch so you should add a piece of fruit at that time but my time is limited. Also I dont have time for a snack at work so usually if I need a snack its usally before dinner if dinner is late or after dinner while I watch my husband eat his "bowl of nighty cereal"...giggles...thats a southern thing too I reacon...giggles....

Hi bma83,
I agree with all the other posts. I will add that as I add more fiber, I am not as hungry. I have gradually gotten up to 35-37 grams of fiber. Try it, you'll like it!

I should add that i'm 5'11 and started at 180 and am down to about 173 now....so I have been losing weight and I try as hard as I can to stay within the 1200-1300 range but sometimes go over. I'd like to get down to 160. I do drink lots of water and will definately try eating more protein and fiber...thats definately something that I dont do. Thanks so much for all of the great advice!
I agree with the fiber and the water as well but watch the fiber - you can actually get too much (over 35g) and if that happens, it starts leeching away minerals and good stuff in your body. 25-35 g is a good goal.
Also, increase it gradually and balance it with water or you will start making interesting noises out of your you-know-what! ;)

I drink green tea. I find this helps when I get the hunger pangs. Takes a little getting use to, but it works for me. Also helps speed up you metabolism.
According to my height and weight....I should be on a 2000 cal. diet. However, I stay around a 1500 or less diet and have lost 18 lbs since Jan. 10.
I have days when I am extremely hungry...those are the days that I am more active....which then I will increase my calorie intake but never to 2000 cal. This seem to balance out the hunger problem.
I don't know if this is the right thing to do but it works for me.

The Fiber idea is one that works for me. I have tried this ceral called Fiber One and it has only 60 calories in a 1/2 c serving. It looks like chinese chow mein noodles and it tastes pretty good. I find it tastes much better than Kashi. That 1/2 c serving has 14g of fiber. I have it with a dannon light and fit yogurt which is also 60 calories. It adds a nice crunch to the yogurt.
