Maybe I just don't choose my words properly, but I feel like I end up offending someone almost everytime I post. :(

It's starting to wear down my urge to post/reply (not like it's needed, lol). Just today, I thought I had explained myself pretty well, while telling the other person I felt snapped at and that they had missed the point I was trying to make. Sure enough, someone comes in and says, "Nope, you're the snappy one."

I was like, "Well damn, I'm always in the wrong on this site. :/" Maybe I'm a nastier person that I originally though.Sealed

Is anyone else experiencing this phenomenon? Or am I just a big old CC meanie? :)

EDIT: I was being oversenitive, but feel free to vent your own frustrations. :0

It's not you.

What you have to realise is that there are really quite alot of people on here! I mean alot...and we all have different personalities, life experoinces, nationalities, cultural differences, opinions, styles of replying, levels of ettiquette, internet ethics, etc etc.

Not everyone will agree with you, or see your side of the story, or even understand what the hell it is you're trying to say!

But thats the rest of the world for you.

Ooo ooo me me! People always seem to get offended at my posts! I wonder why.....

Don't worry about it. Unless they can give a good reason as to why there is a problem...they are just loons. :)

@gg80: That's true. :0 I never think of the rational side of things in the mist of my emo fits.

@loriklorik: That's a good way to look at it. XD I should make an outcasts only thread and we can all bicker with each other.

no matter what you say, you will probably offend or disagree stongly with  someone. i wouldnt worry about it. try not to let people get under your skin. say what you have to say and stand up for yourself and try not to be a wench. i FAIL on the skin and wench parts sometimes...it happens.

Someone already tried that.  And we, collectively, smashed them.  It was hilarious.

It sounds epic. XD

it's not just you, I have said to my friends on here before that I was born to be misunderstood, I used to wonder if it was because I am left handed my brain worked different from the majority.....but then I realised that I can't help it if I am smarter than the vasts and see views they don't.....WinkTongue out

haha those were the days...back when topics got locked every other day. i was gone for a couple of years...guess that doesnt happen anymore. for a minute i thought that OP was an alternate personality of the person the block feature was created for.

Lol, I actually message the person like, "Why? D:" But it made my come off hypocritical. XD Cause I thought this person snapped, and then this person said I snapped, and then I tried not to snap back because he said I snapped, and then it made it seemed like I could snap but couldn't be snapped at in return.

A couple snaps later, it was a regular West Side Story. :0

you can't please all the people all the time - don't worry about it -speak your mind

I have certainly experienced it.  You are not alone.  I think it can happen to anyone, about any post.  Sometimes, I think people kind of get a pack mentality.  Once a few people start getting offended, that is the only way people will take your comments from then on.  I think people LIKE drama so they would rather assume the worst than give you the benefit of the doubt.

^^^^ This Laughing

A lot of people seem to have the mentality of - If I can't be hard to get along with online, where can I be?

And then there is always the possibility of misunderstanding, because the written word just doesn't capture the tonal nuances of the spoken word.  It tends to be worse with those of us who speak directly and concise.

lots of people just love being offended and try to become offended as often as they can!

odd, but true.

don't worry about it, you can safely practice being made of teflon on line and then when your Teflon Skills are good to go, you can handle it better when it happens in 3D Land.

Because it will.

Hey OP,

How about providing a link to the thread where you were accused of being snappy? That way we can judge whether you really were snappy or not. ;)

She didn't snap at you - she just wanted to share her experience in her pole dancing class and clear up your misconception that overweight people can't possibly pole dance.

Maybe it isn't that you're too mean, just too sensitive.

Edit:  typo

linky.

yeah, i'd say the OP is a little oversensitive.  she should probably steer clear of me and ali (and you too, mooni).

I have to agree with pg and chance - meryl's response wasn't snappy, she just wasn't agreeing (or even just pointing out the other side). jae, you weren't being mean, just took the disagreement personally.

Also (not related to jae's threads), if someone asks a question of "will this burn more calories" and people say "probably not, and it isn't a good weight loss strategy", it's a little silly to respond to snap back "I know - I was just curious - I wasn't going to DO it." People on here are looking for tips to lose weight - if you post and ask if something burns more calories, it can be assumed that you are asking because you plan to start doing it, not just out of curiousity, unless you specify that in the OP.
