That's awesome.

I just passed the 50lb loss mark this past week, and I had to put yet another hole in my belt to keep my pants up...after I've already pulled out the smallest pair I hadn't been able to wear in a long time.

Back in July, I was taking 4 medications, now I'm not on any.  Last time I gave blood, my resting pulse was over 90.  It was mid-60s 2 weeks ago.

ahhhh that's so amazing! congrats! what was your diet like? did you hit any plateaus?

Wow! Amazing.  Congratulations!

That's great!  Congratulations!  Keep up the good work!

I've hit a plateau at 190 and 180 but both times i just upped my calories so that i broke even for a couple of days and then went back to dieting. Each time is worked like a charm. ;)

My diet is probably similar to everyone else on here, just get around 500 or so calories under what i burn each day... pretty simple.

Congratulations - that's great and probably ideal (nudging 1% of body weight per week is the fastest possible sensible rate of weight loss). However, either you're over-estimating your intake or under-estimating your burn.

37 lb = 129,500 kcal which, in 122 days (4 months) averages a deficit of 1061 per day (double your 500 estimate).

My own weight loss seems to be working almost as well:

July 8 120.2 kg (ca. 265 lb), today 111.4 kg (ca. 248 lb) - that's 8.8 kg (ca. 17 lb) in 88 days, averaging 100g per day = 0.22 lb per day (compared with your 138g or 0.3 lb).

My total calorie intake is now back up to what it was before I started on July 8 (just over 2600 kcal/day, having averaged about 2350 in July, with almost no exercise, 2500 in August, having started the exercise and 2550 climbing to 2650 since I really upped the exercise) but now includes far fewer from wine, the 'extra' kcal being needed for the amount of exercise I'm now getting.

I don't do any gym or weight work. My exercise comes in the form of hiking (35-40 km/week, mainly over rough ground and with lots of steep hills) plus some Yoga and some 'no weight' resistance work (push ups, squats etc. using 'only' my body weight, which might be more than you are lifting - 175 lb is about my ideal weight, so I'm currently 'lifting' 70-odd lb in my own extra weight!).

I'm glad I kept my old trousers since my 2-year old ones are far too big - my 4-year old ones now fit very well and I can wear my 7-year old ones as well, although that's a bit of a squeeze at the moment.

Wow, you're right... I haven't taken the time calculating my overall deficit. I guess it is as high as 1,000 a day. I guess i'm burning more calories on my walk to and from work then i thought.

Thanks for the heads up and congrats on your loss as well! :D
