American Idol chat ... anyone watching it now and want to do a play-by-play???

I cannot stand little Archeletta and his closed eyes (no charisma, poor stage presence, amazing voice though) ...  but man oh man, that 1st song Archeletta did blew me out of the water. Unreal ...

I loved Cooke's rendition of ISHFWILF however if they had put some gospel singers with it like the Rattle and Hum U2 version he could have blown it out of the water. I wonder if they weren't allowed to use gospel backup?

nah they did gospel backup and even a song about God the week after Idol Gives back.

Well archeletta has hit it out of the park. David Cooke was uninspirational. I am going to vote for him anyways.

yeah same, because when David Archeletta becomes famous I just can't imagine listening to him, or hearing his voice on top 40 or anything.  I can imagine that with Cook, though.

Yea, I voted and voted and voted and voted and voted some more for David Cook.  I just think that David Archeletta is going to be a one hit wonder and than go on to broadway or something.  That is not what I want in the next American Idol.  I want someone who is going to stand the test of time, i.e. David Cook.  I mean, that's all American Idol needs is another broadway/gospel/boring singer.  Just saying.

I am embarrased to say that I voted over 200 times for Cook last night.. when did I become so obsessed... I guess I really want to see him win.  He wasn't on his game last night but I have bought most of his songs on itunes and can actually see myself buying an album.  Not with Artuletta though

I can't really blame DC for not being completely on his game last night when it seemed like everyone around him had already decided Archuletta was going to win.  Did anyone else noticed how sort of biased the coverage of their rehearsals in the clips was?  I was steaming mad by the end of it!  

Little David is just so BORING to me! All I can see him recording is formulaic, insipid ballads... *snore*  I totally *heart* David Cook!  I think he'll do really well after Idol regardless of whether he wins!

I don't like DA either.  I don't know exactly why, but I don't.  I love DC and I would not consider myself a rock fan, but for some reason I think he is awesome.    I think he did great last night, contrary to what Simon thought.  I am encouraged by all of you saying you voted for DC even if it is only six of you!  I voted for him too.  I think DC will be much more successful than DA even if DA wins tonight. 

DA is more a pop tweeny icon. DC is a rocker, and so will do fine regardless.

OK here's my opinion, and i've been watching religiously all season. i want DA to win, not because i think he's better than DC, but because i think DC will do much better if he comes in second. I want DC to lose because i like him better!  

i cringe to think what nauseating song they'll stick DC with if he wins...

the male version of "this is my now" perhaps?

it's been bad enough having to watch him do the little group performances with the cheesy choreographed dance moves.

i think DC will be the next Daughtry...if he doesn't win. if he does...who knows what they'll turn him in to. i'm afriad to think about it!

I think he will be the next Daughtry regardless. He's fabulous and I couldn't agree more with how painful it was to watch him do those boy-band dance steps!!!
