Amidoinitrite?
Okay, so I recently started the whole transitioning to a healthier lifestyle. I'm 5'8, 20 years old, and started Jun 24 at a weight of 304. I work at Petco, so I sling 40lbs of dog food around for 5-7 hours a day. I've lost 12lbs in this first three weeks.
I eat six times a day, in meal-snack-meal-snack-meal format. I generally eat 1500 to 1900 calories. I walk a minimum of two miles a day, usually I walk for an hour in the morning before work and then an hour in the evening before dinner, so I normally end up with 4 to 6 miles. I've been eating so much healthier. I've also been taking my vitamins and medicine like I'm supposed to. (PCOS- have to take metformin, it's just that it makes sick so I don't take it like I'm supposed to).
So, is there something that I'm missing, or something that I can do more of, or should I be eating more calories?
When I first read your subject line I thought it was some new disorder or medication! =) It sounds like you're doing really well. Congrats on getting moving and losing the weight! Welcome to CC!
Me too. Further proof that the internet is killing the English language ![]()
If you're losing weight and feel satistfied I'd leave things as they are. It sounds like you're getting good results! You may have to switch things up a little if you hit a plateau so save your changes up for then. Good luck!
heh, i thought the same thing.
your intake sounds low to me, cl.
thats my range and im 5'8" but i am 46 and weigh 152 at the moment. it seems like you would need more, especially with the walking, and you are younger, so your metaboliism is probably ticking along waaaay faster than mine.
if you arent seeing the results you want, you might up your calories. sometimes you have to eat to lose. i know that sounds counterintuitive, but when you arent giving your body enough to survive on, it is critical.
did you calculate that with the CC tools?
Yeah watergirl. I love CC for that reason, it's been really helpful with logging. It makes it super easy to keep up with everything, I doubt I would follow it this closely without it. Plus I love that this is free.. most weightloss places charge the moola, and I have way too many student loans and bills to be forking over hard earned cash.
Yeah, my intake is kinda low I suppose. On my sedentary days I only take in about 1500, but on my active days I was shooting for just under 2000. I'll start throwing in a few more nuts and chips to even things out. The medicine I'm on really really curbs my hunger, so I have to make myself eat. It's kinda hard to do knowing that later I'm going to be cramping really really bad. Just a side effect of the medicine. I'm told it'll taper off as my body becomes more accustomed to it.
I'm pretty happy with the way things are coming off. I'm just never sure if I'm working out enough, or if I should be pushing myself a little harder. Right now 4miles is a little tough for me, so I'm going to stick around that for another week or so.
Honestly, I think I'm doing okay... I just wanted reassurance. ![]()
I don't talk to people about this stuff very much. well. I dont' dicuss my weight, diet, or exercise AT ALL. So, I'm just making myself talk about it. My therapist says (Oh lord, I've become one of those people... haha..) that I need to quit hiding, basically.
