Amy's Kitchen!

Quote  |  Reply
ack - so i'm super excited - i just discovered the wonderful world of Amy's Kitchen products! *yes hi, i live under a rock*  she has some fantastic sounding meals, whole meals, for around 300 cals! This is great for those who are culinary challenged, like myself, and can only seem to master the use of a toaster, microwave, and george foreman grill. oh and i'm fairly capable at handling an oven to heat up a frozen pizza. and i can make a mean pot of coffee :)
anywho - i just had to share and reveal whatta giant dork i am :)

I love Amy's kitchen. It's very sparse here in the UK though, only the soups are easily available. I found the encheladas recently though and they were scrummy :)

when i'm looking for something quick, i love amy's. :)

yay for amy! :D

You have to try there minestrone soup. It's so filling, and it's only 90 cals for more than half a can.

sa-weeet :D

I just had her chunky vegetable soup + shirataki noodle + homemade bread for a total of 300 calories. yummm-o

i must try these shirataki noodles. they are popping up everywhere.

Her stuff sounds great.

But its way too overpriced for me :(

i miss amy's. so far i have not been able to find any in this country. & its not really something anyone from the states can just post.

Yeah, I like Amy's too, but so expensive! And not very much food either.

I love all the Amy's stuff.  I have yet to find something that I don't like.  It is super expensive though.

I don't know about in your area (since she is relatively local to where I live), but they sell the vegetable lasagnas and the bean and cheese burritos at Costco.  It ends up being about $2 per meal, which it a LOT cheaper than the grocery store.

I used to love Amy's... especially the soy cheese & mac... WAY better than real cheese! Yum! :)

Unfortunately (for anyone who might be interested), the hecksher on it is questionable.  Apparently the rabbi who does the kashruth oversight only visits the plant once a month or so... not good! Since finding that out, I can't have it anymore :(

Best brand ever. I could LIVE off that food. :D

I bought an Amy's meal for the first time ever this week since I was feeling lazy.  I've kept away from them because of the sodium content and the calories of some of the meals, but I found the Tofu Vegetable Lasagna and it was only 310 calories for the entire package.  The serving wasn't the biggest ever so I heated up some broccoli and cauliflower to supplement it.  Not bad at all.  Of course, I'm trying to stop eating frozen foods so much (although it's hard to get the motivation to cook in the summer) but it's good to know that not all of their stuff is super caloric.

I recently tried the Indian Tikka Paneer. Servings are kinda small and the tray was really soft. It was decent indian food I suppose, but definitely NOT not NOT worth $5.

And yesterday I bought the Black Bean Enchilada meal.... been craving some mexican. Hopefully it'll be GOOD.

I love how Amy offers international foods for decent cals. I mean where else could i find mexican/indian frozen meals for under 400 cals!

Any Amy's Kitchen products taht you LOVE and strongly recommend? I'm looking at trying more.... from soups to refried beans to frozen meals... post post!

I'm going to have the low-fat minestrone for lunch today.   I'll let you know how it is! :)

I've heard that Amy's Kitchen's pizza is supposed to be really good. Where can i find them and her other products?

I love all of her vegan burritos. Haven't tried much of Amy's other frozen foods, though, been wanting to. I think I tried her lasanga when I was a lacto-ovo and liked it.

I like the burritos and veggie burgers. My favorite is her American and California burgers. Careful about the sodium though! (Well that goes for most prepackaged products.)
