Announcing Calorie Count Groups
We're pleased to announce a new addition to our community features: Calorie Count Groups! The primary goal of the groups is to further enhance the possibilities in which members can connect and motivate each other to reach their health and weight loss goals. Here is a quick overview:
- Recommended groups
Don't have much time to find the perfect support group? We can provide recommendations by matching your user data with the groups. - Find out who is near you
Join your local community and exchange tips on restaurants and other highlights of your neighborhood. Local meet-ups are also a great way to really get to know your fellow members. - Common goals
Imagine joining hundreds of other people with the same number of pounds to lose or target date? Apart from this being an endless source of support and motivation, can you imagine the fun of reaching some of your milestones together as a group? - More than just weight loss
While losing weight, you may also want to learn more about some of your other interests, such as gardening, being a new mom, how to deal with certain health conditions, and many more. - Private groups
Groups can be public or private, and you can also choose to create your own group. How about, for example, forming your own private family group?
Regardless of how you choose to use the groups, they will help you establish and deepen relationships with other members that you will be able to count on when you need them.
If you would like to find out more about the groups, see our Get Started Guide or join our Feedback and Questions group. Try out the groups today - we are looking forward to welcoming you in our teams!
Reason: Stickied
Hey, hate to be the whiner but... Everytime I try to click on a forum (ie weight loss, motivation, etc) instead of bringing me to the forum, I end up on the groups page. No offense to the groups, but when I click on the weight loss forum, I kind of expect to go there. Can this be fixed? Is it something I'm doing wrong?

appears to be a caching issue on our end - sorry for that, we'll try to fix it asap!
How do you unsubscribe from a group? I subscribed to one group by mistake and can't figure out how to unsub.
Thanks!
If you go to "edit my settings" on the left hand side, you should be able to "leave group" (lower right corner of the pop-up box, I believe)
Groups make it harder to follow updates. I use http://caloriecount.about.com/forums/recent/& nbsp; to scan new posts in multiple forums. To see what's new in a handfull of groups you need many more clicks.

That's great point - we will make a summary of all groups recent posts, as well as your groups recent posts available. Thanks!
on that note, a scan view for all groups would be at least as useful as a scan view for only my groups. It is very easy to scan past topics that are not relevant.
on the forum, I've learned a lot from topics where I mostly lurk. in groups, there may be areas where I'd want to read to learn as well, and then perhaps join.

Agreed :)
How does one create a "forum" within a group?? I can create a new topic within a forum but seems all the new topiocs are always under "introduce yourself" but you have to go to that forum to see any new topics. Guess I'm confused. is it only the group moderator / founder that can create forums??
