So this is just kind of me venting but it has to be said!! ...
Does anyone else find it SUPER annoying when women on here who are AT their ideal weight or lower use this website as a means of reassuring themselves that they are skinnier & better than everyone else by posting their measurements every 3 days and whining about "only having a 24-inch waist" or "feeling fat at 110lbs" etc etc?
If they feel so fat then why are they the same women who also make a point of posting pictures of themselves in bikinis / standing in front of a mirror / in revealing clothing looking NOT EVEN CLOSE to anywhere near needing to lose ANY weight / tone up?... most, in my opinion could stand to gain about 5- 10lbs to look normal. Seriously, no one likes a bone-bag.
I understand a lot of women on here have had / are suffering from ED, and that sucks for them but there are also those of us on here who suffer from self-confidence issues and are simply trying to get down to a weight that is HEALTHY and beautiful FOR THEM... and NOT to obsess over the fact that they do or do not weigh >110lbs..
I know I really try not to pay attention to their insessant posts & responses to posts that are really just lame attempts at one-upping others or seeking validation that they are thin and fit and, in their own way, ahead of the rest of the game. I think subconsciously a lot of them just use this website so that they can see how much thinner / better they (in their own heads) look than the rest of us who are NORMAL or striving to achieve a HEALTHY weight.
BOTTOM LINE: Everyone is different, some of us are thin, some of us are fat, some of us are stuck somewhere in between. The one thing we all have in common is the need to feel beautiful & the desire to lose a few pounds or many.. My point is that those of us "normal ladies" who are trying hard to lose weight and struggle with body image can become very discouraged by those women on here who have no real need to be, and insist on reminding us every day that they think they are "better" than everyone else just because they succeed at NEVER cheating / following a VERY rigid low cal diet / rigorous exercise regime in order to maintain a ridiculously low weight... this is not the place to encourage this kind of all or nothing mentality. It could seriously drive a person to become anorexic!! Perhaps for these individuals (whom I feel very sorry for) some therapy would be more useful at overcoming what is obviously an OBSESSION and a medical condition stemming from EXTREMELY low self-esteem and other issues...
I totally agree with the OP.
Everytime I see a thread like that, I wonder what would happen if I took a picture of my flabby, stretch-marked tummy that hangs over the top of my jeans and said, "Am i fat? =( just want some honest comments, plz."
I hope to G-d that if I did one of two things would happen:
1. Nobody would post a single response.
2. Every response post (maybe I could get 5 or 6 pages, just like the skinny girls!) would be something along the lines of, "Yes, jeez, put that away! Ew! We only like to compliment and encourage HOT girls. Ugh."

hey laura,
I will happily admit that I have been irked lateley by people trying to 'dig up dirt' on people to invalidate their opinion. Retrospectively, I doubt this was actually your intention, so my apologies for singling you out, so to speak.
As for giasbash I think her mention of her lifestyle on this post was to justify her agreement with the OP despite the fact that she does have pics and such posted. Also I have contacted her about what she eats, and her calories seem similar to mine (which are pretty generous at my weight). Also, being from a very 'atkins friendly' family, and vegan friends and such, the idea of cutting out food groups doesn't really bother me as long as someone is aware and attempting to get their necessary nutrition. I also avoid most starches and fruits. And I exercise for 90 minutes a day, at least 5 days a week. You are more than allowed to your opinion, just thought I would explain where my bias comes from. I certainly haven't read everything she's ever posted, but what I have read has been supportive, especially about the ability to maintain a diet for many years, and in the information she's messaged me, I have no problem with her diet. So up to this point, I don't feel as though I'm in any way encouraging unhealthy habits. But again, opinions differ.
Ok, am I the only one who feels weird talking about other people, here. it's almost like talking about someone while they're in the room : )
Sorry to everyone else for the interruption of the OP and it's replies.
I haven't read all the posts so if this has been covered, well what can I do?...lol. I think most people to some extent, are insecure about their looks, regardless of their weight. I think as fatty's some of us look at thin people and think to ourselves, "Man if I looked like that [thin person], I wouldn't be posting my picture here looking for reassurance". Well that's because we're looking at it from a perspective that hasn't been that thin since grade 4, while the thin person has lived with their thin body their whole life. And surprise surprise, they have faced much the same criticisms and dealt with many of the same insecurites as us chubbies. So they too aren't exactly sure if they are attractive, if their weight is right, if they are healthy etc.
In the bigger picture, so long as our focus continues to be on external appearance, too fat or too skinny, and not on what's really important which is your overall state of health and your mental well being, we will always struggle with our weight.

I'm not trying to bash you but aren't you one of them? I looked at your pics and you have at least 7 separate bikini pics up and you look fabulous in all of them! I understand the extremes you are talking about: the girls who's bones are sticking out at sharp angles, who run 8 miles a day everyday and freak out when they eat over 1200 cals. I think it is more sad than annoying.
I am currently at a healthy weight but i yo yo like crazy and I use this site to get back into a regular exercise routine and normal healthy eating. Sure I want to lose a few more lbs but all my goals are in the "healthy" range. I like to post pics of myself as motivation. ie I look good at this weight and my CC friends can see the progress that I've made.
um.
ok, i probably should read all the in between comments. i only read your post, which i totally agree with, btw, & then read the first two comments. One of which told you that you do not need to lose weight.
So then i looked at your pics & ummmm... you are THIN!!!! You are GORGEOUS! Maybe your self-esteem is lower & you think you are fatter than you are? Or maybe you don't like certain trouble spots? IDK. But i think you look freakin EXCELLENT! I am 274 pounds. I am 5'6. & yes, it does drive me crazy when someone posts a thread saying "am i fat" & then you look at it & they are completely not even CLOSE to fat!!! I honestly don't even understand when people have threads that say "how to lose the last 10 pounds". LAST TEN POUNDS!?!?! How about first 100!? LOL. I'm not trying to be mean, maybe i will understand when i have those last 10 pounds. But anyway. Please do not worry about those people. You are right about much of your thing except that you actually have weight to lose. I would bet that you are within a healthy BMI...
Why do I get bad cramps after I eat?
