| 1 | teaspoon salt |
| 1 | apple or 2 carrots |
| 1 | cup golden raisins |

- Preheat the oven to 325 deg. F. Line a standard-size 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners, or lightly grease it, then dust with flour.
- Combine the sugar, butter, molasses, eggs., and buttermilk together, Add the bran, stir to combine, then set aside to soften while you assemble the dry ingredients.
- Fold the dry ingredients into the wet bran mixture just until combined. Add the apple and raisins and stir to distribute evenly. At this point, the batter can be refrigerated, or you cn proceed with thhe recipe and bake the muffins.
- Scoop or spoon the batter into the muffin tin, filing each cup three-quarters full. Bake 25 minutes, rotating the tin halfway through the baking time. The muffin tops should spring back when lightly poked in the center, the edges will darken slightly, and the tops will remain somewhat flat.
