Annyone else addicted to cheese?
I think this may be my downfall.. I LOVE cheese. My perfect meal is fresh chunky tomato marinara, Pasta (wheat is fine) and a crap- load of cheddar cheese.
I'm serious its my addiction I have a hard time trying not to eat it. Also, I crave cheese when I'm hungry. So I will just go to the fridge and cut off a hunk and eat it. I have had days where I eat nothing but cheese, cheddar, mozz & jack.
What can I do about this?

I'm glad I hate cheese because it seems like it's really hard to get over.
I too looooove cheese!!! So much that I don't keep it in the house.
But to compensate, I have a 'free' meal once every 2 weeks where I pile on the calories....and have lasagne (extra cheese pleeze!).
For me, that works way better than a hunk of cheese every couple of days and oh well, I go over my calories for 2 days a month :)

I've been on this Kraft singles kick recently. Prolly not the greatest thing (and I don't know how you would feel about it if you only like quality stuff) but it melts really well so I make omlettes and grilled cheese, etc. If you get the red-fat (or whatever it is) kind it's only 30 cals a slice
I, too, am a rat, a cheesey cheese lover of a ratty eating cheese...
I find if I keep low fat cheddar or swiss in the house and sliced very thin...I can eat a smaller amount. I still use parmesan on pasta...it is not very fatteneing and a little goes a long way.
Low fat motzarella is OK too.
But the big cheese mac and loaded cheese dishes are sad to say- gone but not forgotten;0(
Some day when I am really old and grey I am going to do whatever I want and eat whatever I want:
A big sourdough tuna melt with extra cheese and cheesy fries and the side!

I could live off of cheese and coffee. I'm serious. That stuff is like heroine to me.
I never understood the fasciation with cheese. I'm glad I'm not hooked because it seems to be pretty evil.
oh god. i need cheese in each meal. it's awful. and it's my favorite thing to snack on.
god bless laughing cow.

I'm a cheese addict as well. I can't get enough, and I can't eat the low fat stuff. It just doesn't do it for me. I really dislike american cheese too (probably the only kind).
I limit myself, but once per week I have a cheese plate with crackers and fruit for dinner. I make sure I am fairy low calorie the rest of the day and it never hurts my weight loss. I look forward to cheese night.
I also will scramble some cheese into my eggs (but not much), and I have parmesan on my pasta. Parmesan is strong enough so you wont need very much to get the taste across.

I think I could probably live off cheese alone. Maybe a drink every once in a while. See, I'm also a sucker for super fancy cheeses, which are really just best by themselves in little pieces. I used to eat them with bread, but I mostly cut that out as unnecessary calories. ; )
Visiting specialty markets is part of my lifestyle, and one that I'm not willing to give up. Besides, I really believe that one day someone will discover helpful nutrients that only exist in certain cheese cultures. Probably not in Kraft Singles though.
I feel like if it's really that important, then you have to cut out other foods instead. That's why lasagne would never work for me and why I'm constantly trying to get my husband to change his pasta/topping ratio when we cook.

I love really good cheeses. I limit it carefully because I could easily overdo it. What I really like to do is buy a small piece of expensive, gourmet cheese and portion it out one ounce at a time.
Ha! Yeah those of you who could care less about cheese.. I envy you.. sorta, I mean its cheese, I don't know where i'd be without it.. er I suppose I'd be skinny!
Yeah I guess I just crave that melted cheddar texture on pasta.. its SO hard to try to cut down.. In my head I'm like, its only cheese its not like I'm eating cookies, fried chicken or ice cream.. So thats how I get my brain to allow me to be ok with eating it.
I did read though that when you use stronger cheese in your meals it helps you to use LESS.. which I suppose is the answer..
I think not keeping it in the house is a good idea since I'd be too lazy to go to the bodega for more.
Also like the idea of cutting it out and allowing one crazy cheezefest meal a week.
Thanks you guys! Oh whats this about laughing cow?

I hate cheese, but only the stuff like Laughing Cow, Kraft cheese slices, and the stuff they put on Pizza in restaurants (cheese ersatz?).
Give me a piece of Brebies, or Chaume, or Munster on the other hand, and I am in cheese heaven. Luckily, cheese here in Vietnam is extremely expensive, limiting my cheese intake somewhat.

There is no Cheese in my house, except fat free cottage cheese and low fat string cheese, this helps me keep my cravings for cheese under control.
However, I also Love Cheese and Pasta, so what I do is set aside every Sunday when I go over my calorie intake, I eat a low calorie breakfast like cottage cheese and then a small lunch and then have a big dinner, normally, something like lasagna.

I LOVE CHEESE!!! oh my god cheese tastes so good on everything!! and it's so hard not to eat it, especially for a snack, because i loved snacking on the cheese kraft cubes or those cheese strings or QUESO!! or macaroni and cheese. i could go on and on....
i feel your pain! i know it sucks, but i just ignore my cravings and go for fruits and veggies.

I love love love good quality cheese. It doesn't help that my husband is a cheesemaker. he works for a company that makes cheese. Prize winning American Parmesan...blue cheese, and other craft varieties...and the company sends home about 15lbs of cheese every 3-4 months. I have 3 wedges of parmesan in fridge. I can only use it sparingly or else I over indulge. For the longest time cheese and yogurt were the only way I would get dairy. I hate milk. So I cut the cheese (:P) out and am trying to drink lowfat milk instead (still yucky).
I love making grilled cheese sandwiches with 3 varieties, a jack, a provolone, and colby. I miss those. Maybe after I hit my second mini goal I'll indulge and have one. ( I haven't hit my first mini-goal yet.)

CHEEEEEESE!!
(Cheese Lovers, You must all watch Wallace & Grommit - Curse of the Were Rabbit)
I LOVE CHEESE! I have A HARD TIME not eating it.
Solutions: Low Fat cheese sticks
These babys are around 60-90 calories (depending on brand).
You can also grab 5 saltine crackers and break off enough cheese from the stick to fit them all.
Unfortunately, cheese is so fatty and high in calories that I have had to DRASTICALLY REDUCE my intake.
I did the Cabbage Soup diet to break all my addictions and have switched to Oatmeal and lean Cuisines's. I'm down 20-22 lbs but still craving cheese.
LET ME DO SOME DREAMING....
PROVOLONE - mmmm could literally eat a pound of this stuff in one setting.
CHEDDER - YES! Nachos, Crackers & Cheese.
MOZARELLA - Oh Man! Straight-up, Quiche, Crackers, with olives
VELVEETA - Fake Cheese but makes a great GRILLED CHEES SANDWICH!

Oh dear what have I done? I've created a cheese monster. I was thinking of doing the lemonade cleanse to try to break my habit of cheese, but dang-it I'm just not willing to change my lifestyle all together yet.. I'm young! I should be enjoying all the cheese this world has to offer ;)
Laps! A cheese maker? How'd you score one of those! Thats like heaven and cheese paradise all rolled into one. wow.. your a lucky girl :)
Hello. My name is Erica and I'm a cheese addict.
<everyone says hello, Erica>
I also use low fat cheese sticks and laughing cow for my fix. I buy the kraft 2 % cheese (real cheese, not processed cheese food product, whatever that stuff is.... I can't stand fake cheese)
I know that someday I should go off the stuff.
I've never met a cheese I didn't love. *sob*
But I've also noticed that I get a strong phlegm reaction in my throat after having cheese.... This is an immune response, right? I've gotta give it up....
