Annyone else addicted to cheese?

Quote  |  Reply
I think this may be my downfall.. I LOVE cheese. My perfect meal is fresh chunky tomato marinara, Pasta (wheat is fine) and a crap- load of cheddar cheese.

I'm serious its my addiction I have a hard time trying not to eat it. Also, I crave cheese when I'm hungry. So I will just go to the fridge and cut off a hunk and eat it. I have had days where I eat nothing but cheese, cheddar, mozz & jack.

What can I do about this?

Maybe, but then what is the point of eating cheese? It is fat that carries the flavor.
i cant eaven go near cheese as soon as i eat some i feel so sick
I shouldn't post on everthing...but it is just so nice to know others share our quirks... I have used this site and my own meal modifications  to come from 160 to 140..goal 127 but my cry today was how can i stop the CHEESE?

So thanks for the lifetime fat free tip.. i am off to analyze and then buy it

Good luck all...
Everytime I eat it must include cheese in the ingredients.   I am also a smoker and find that my cravings for cheese are stronger than my cravings for nicotine.  When I was a child, for a whole year and a half I ate nothing else for dinner other than mac and cheese until I was whipped off to the docs.  Its very hard to control but I love cheese!!!!!!!!!!
I just want to share a little story.  There's a dairy near where I live and we go and get cheese there sometimes.  They used to make a 'light' cheese which had less milk fat and more water, but eventually they stopped making it, and people complained.  I was talking to the owner, and she told me her own personal philosophy on cheese and weight loss:

"If you really like cheese but you want to lose weight you should have a little slice of the real thing so you can enjoy the taste.   It'll keep you much happier than a big slice of the low fat stuff that has no flavour. "
Or, there are many different kinds of snacking cheese....cracker-cut, string cheese of various types....and these are already portioned off for you...so you could just get those and when a cheese craving hits...get you a piece....and eat it slowly. :)
I love cheese, and I want to try that Lifetime cheese I keep seeing folks talk about on here, but I can't find it anywhere.

Ah well, at least I have my Laughing Cow!

I love cheese, but I have to watch it.  The stuff is like Crack.   "It Be Calling Me" LOL!
I too am addicted to cheese but I don?t feel guilty after eating it.  Today at work we had a pitch in. I ate 4 round (sandwhich size) slices of Co-Jack and about 10 little chedder cheese cubes with about 10 crackers. That took up half my plate so I filled the other half with chunks of fruit. And I ate it and tried to not feel guilty. I drank my Slim fast for breakfast and will drink the other slimfast for dinner instead. I also plan to jog when I get home from work (three dogs leave me with no choice NOT to at least walk)

I also was very strict with my Slim Fast Diet on Thursday because I KNEW there would be temptations at the pitch in!  I am also 5?7 and weighed in at 138 this morning.  My goal for ?bikini season? is about 130 to 133. I was there about two months ago but my best friend who I have been hanging out with a lot has really bad eating habits and they rubbed off on me.  But I am being strong and starting to fight her when she mentions Pizza Hut and Taco HELL

For any aussies out their who luv cheese as much as me may i suggest shape cheese, it tastes really good and is a mere 2 cals per gram
I'm pretty much addicted to cheese, but I've noticed lately that whenever I consume dairy products (especially cheese), my energy goes down. I just get really tired. I've decided to give up all dairy for a week, just to see how it goes. If I feel good about it I might keep doing it. This doesn't mean that I won't indulge in some good cheese every now and then, but cottage cheese will no longer be a staple in my diet. I'll just have to get my calsium elsewhere...
I only like cottage cheese... Dairy products in general aren't my thing.
I put cheese on EVERYTHING!  I've even gone so far as to stop eating sugar all together so that I can enjoy my cheese!  Dutch cheese, Wisconsin cheese, French cheese, even government cheese, (when that's the only option).  It sounds like a serious addiction!  I guess it is.  I even have dreams about cheese!
I love cheese more than most probably.  I was told when I was about 12 years old that I was slightly allergic to dairy products and that I could only eat 1 type of dairy product (1 slice of pizza, 1 serv mac and cheese) every three days and 1 - 8oz glass of milk every day.  What in the hell were they thinking?  But I really need to go back to that idea because some of the new products ... ice cream with no dairy (try tofutti ice cream, it's a healthy alternative and it tastes exactly like homemade ice cream YUM) or Amy's NON-DAIRY burritos.  They are extremely tasty, a little pricey, but they are good for one meal.

If you absolutely can't get away from the cheese try low/red-fat mozzarella.  It's really tasty and it's a healthier substitute than cheddar, american, etc. White cheeses are better than yellow cheeses.
My life would be empty without that slice of cheese and apple mmmm. Just like how about Chocolate Cheese Cake. Gawd, what I wouldn't give for that right now.

I'm pretty devoted to cheese and its torture trying to wean away from it. grrr. I've always liked cheese and I can't understand it but my husband hates Eggs, Cheese, Butter etc. Yet he likes Pancakes (Eggs, Butter etc).

I don't like Butter though, but I do eat the seldom egg but Cheese, mmmm: Grilled Cheese especially or how about Cream Cheese on a bagel with Tomatos and a little bit of salt and pepper (They call this Open Faced Bagel with cream cheese: Super yummy).

When I do have cheese I go for the low % one (Skim or something). Because anything else doesn't agree with me.

Darnnit, I want cheese now. lol (Oh but I don't like eating Cottage Cheese anymore: It's not the same like Mozza or Cheddar or Marble).
lol

I don't understand the need to eliminate cheese totally from one's diet.  Protein, calcium, phosphorus, zinc, vitamin A, riboflavin (B2), and B12...cheese is a source of all of these.

Of course, cheddar's 70 calories per cubic inch, but I don't see any reason why cheese should be treated as poison.  Just account for it in your daily caloric allotment.

~dnrothx~

I have to agree with you. Cheese is great in someone's diet in moderation. But I think that this "love of cheese" emplies the lack of cheese moderation in everyone's diet - not so good.

My friend loves cheese and dairy products in general. She goes to the gym and is very active but for the life of her, cannot shed those extra pounds. Recently she cut back on the cheese, and viola! But unfortunantly she couldnt resist her daily intake of goodness.

I'm a recovered Cheese addict...and I hate to say it, but it has helped shed the weight faster as well...needless to say, I feel your pain cheesy lovers!
I love cheese too. Nachos, mac and cheese grilled cheese. I even like to melt a slice of American cheese over leftover Thanksgiving stuffing! I started counting calories yesterday and I don't thing I am going to buy anymore cheese for a while! I can't bring myself to eat the fat free kind. Is there a good tasting low cal cheese out there?
