I have been on the shot for years now.... I go in next week for another and just starting this program. Should I look into alternatives? I have had the pill, ring, IUD.... is anyone else on the shot and still has success losing weight and shouldn't be a problem? I already have 2 children and do not want anymore, but having my tubes tied is a little expensive for me. Thanks!!!

i am on the pill, never did the shot. sorry, no help there.
I gained 30 pounds on the shot. They didn't tell me that was on of the side effects until after. I am on Nuva ring now and I love it. Also, the shot made me crazy. Like crying at commercials crazy.
i think the shot is progesterin, just like the norplant implants. talk about PSYCHO!
whew! i must stick with estrogen-based birth control.
I also gained on the shot and it screwed my hormones right up which can cause weight gain. I would try something else if you can. maybe the patch?
