Another dreaded cellulite question!
Has anybody had excessive very noticeable cellulite, and then exercised and ate healthy and totally decreased the visiblity of it?
And has running helped anybody loose the look of their cellulite?
thanks
Actually, My mom has.
She found it made a big difference, altough it's not cmpletely gone. She doesn't have "craters" as she calls them anymore.
She also finds that tanning helps hide it.
Did she do a lot of cardio? Does she eat clean?
Running will help, I imagine, because it burns fat. Long-distance running also breaks down muscle, however, and can thus lead to a higher body-fat percentage than other forms of cardio will. And the more muscle you have, the more improved will be the appearance of your cellulite. That is because fat is largely shapeless, which contributes to the dimpled appearance. Muscle has a firm form, on the other hand.
Losing fat and building (and at the very least maintaining) muscle will improve the appearance of cellulite.
Tanned fat looks less ugly than pasty white fat.
Truuuuuue that!
yes I succeded in this - I ate only: vegetables, fruits (not too much), fish, eggs, chicken breasts, low-fat yoghurt and only, only that for 3 months (well, ok, maybe I ate 5gr of chocolate for the all 3 months) and I exercised vigorously 3-5 times a week. Now I almost not have cellulite anymore (maybe a bit on my gluteus), but it is probably aroun 60-80% gone.
This is something I can help with!!!
I used to have HORRIBLE cellulite (craters! BIG time!) I would NEVER wear shorts or skirts. I can't run too much because I had knee surgery last year and my knee is still not as stable as I would like. I do the eliptical. I have noticed that the more water I drink, the better it gets, and the fact that I have lost fat has helped as well. I eat normal, but only about 1500 calories a day. Now all the craters are gone and I have few lines, and they are not NEARLY as bad as what I had before... plus they are higher up on the leg so I can wear shorts again! WEEEEEEE!!!!

Pastey white fat looks better than old, wrinkled leather.
LOL! Too true. And beyond that, I actually like my super-pale skin, flaws and all. I think pale skin is lovely. I have never even used a sunless tanner because I like being the strangely translucent one, lily-white bottom and all, in a sea of tanned bodies.
My behind has undergone an amazing transformation since I began p90, it's all the squats and lunges. I always had a flat butt and unfortunately some rather unattractive cellulite, but now my behind is, although not even close to perfect yet, higher and rounder and has far less cellulite than it used to.
I did it and i can't even see it anymore.
I have been running for about a month and I've already noticed a huge improvement in my rear end. It's not perfect yet but the change has been dramatic. I stopped counting calories in November when I had a medical problem and my doctor told me to stop (I think I was taking it too far). By December I had ballooned out to my original weight and I felt terrible. I decided to sign up a 5k race as motivation to move. I've been doing weights about three times a week and jogging about 5 to 6 days a week and I feel FANTASTIC. I don't think I'm any smaller (I won't weight myself) but I'm definitely firmer. My ass and thighs look SOOO much better.
One person mentioned that running leads to higher body fat. Personally I think that's pretty ridiculous. Take a look at a distance runner and you will see they are anything BUT fat. Doing weights will help build muscle (which burns calories) and will help improve your run. You will need strong muscles to propel your body.
Don't expect that you will be a great runner the first time you go out. Be ok with where you are even if that's a 1 minute run then a 2 minute walk interval for 30 minutes. Be consistent in your training and each week push yourself a little further. At the beginning of January I couldn't run 5k on the treadmill at an incline of 2, now I can do it in 34:30 minutes. The running group in my area does a 10 minute run, then a 1 minute walk.
I know this might sound a bit silly but 8 minute buns really worked out the areas where I had bad ceullite and improved it signifigantly. I normally do it after my morning jog. Just youtube it and you'll find the video. 8 minute abs is great too, but in order to have great abs you really got to burn any fat off first. But, remeber, building muscle helps burn calories!
I've read the other posts and I agree a lot of water and running will do wonders to reduce cellulite ;-D

and fake bake looks better than both! (If it's not orange an yacky :P)
Hey shanonna, I'm quite pasty and haven't been able to find a good self tanner. It seems they're all made for someone who at least has some color to their skin. Do you have any you would recommend?
