Another excuse.
yay. I started my period today.
And guess what? I probably had over 2000 calories.
I think that could of been prevented.
Every month, on my first night on... I always seem to give myself the excuse to eat 'non' diet foods. And go easy on the exercise.
I know its not smart. but its a physcological thing, this way I feel like I am pampering my body while i feel like im dying.
haha. Is anyone else in the same boat as me?
Here's the intake/ outtake, if you were wondering.
Intake: B- coffee w/ soymilk, flax seed, apple. L- wheat bread, turkey, cheese, pickles, chocolate milk. D- salad, soynuts, grapes, 2 servings of wheat thins(felt panic). Dessert- apple, baking coco, splenda, oatmeal.
Outtake: 20 min (easy cardio), lifting. I had a hard workout yesterday, and plan on a hard one agian tommorow.
I wouldn't worry about it too much. Over eating every day during TOTM can be deadly to your diet, but as long as you can control your cravings for most of the time you should be good. It's also great that you ate healthy foods instead of junk.
Maybe scheduling in a snack or a small treat could help keep everything in check? An apple with a few almonds or peanut butter is a good snack (unless you have no control around peanut butter:P). One of the dessert yogourts that are only 50cals, or a little rice pudding snack for 100cals. I don't know, I like to trick myself into thinking I've gotten a chance to indulge, haha.
Good luck!
I give myself one day a week that's "a day off". Now, I don't go totally overboard but I allow myself to indulge in something that I wouldn't normally eat but like or go out to dinner with a friend. If you are only splurging 1 day a month, I don't think you will undo your whole week.
I also agree about the yogurt or 100 cal puddings..even Jello's sugar free pudding are great at 60 cals!
Sugar free jello and cool whip free - oh yum. 25 cals for a serving.
But heck no - a day of diet and exercise rest is good for you. Your body needs to rest from exercise AND from your diet occasionally.
For me 2000 cals is maintenance. If it is over for you, then it might be wise to cut back to maintenance. But all in all you did just fine.
If you're only indulging yourself once a month, I say indulge yourself. People on this site have weekly off-the-wagon days, if you have the discipline to just have one once a month, more power to you, enjoy it.
