Hi, I would like to get in shape for the summer...I am currently in college and have gained a bit more weight than I would have liked to:) I am 5'3 and weigh 143lbs...would love to go down to 125lbs or so over the course of the next few months and would love to hear from anyone else with the same situation?

I could certainly do with some motivation...someone to chat to when Im contemplating a chocolate binge:)

Ladies,

Have been away from here for quite a while - but I see the same applies to the rest of you...perhaps the challenge was too much, smader? :-D

I'm up for a challenge - so if it's okay, today is monday and my goal for this week is:

to eat healthy snacks at night when my daughter gets back (when she isn't here, I smoke, which wards off any desire to eat, but I never smoke with her in the house, and that triggers a desire for craptacular foods! perhaps my real challenge over time should be to quit smoking!)

and another thing: not to cancel my work outs as I have been doing for the past three weeks....

that ought to be enough for one week, right?!

I missed you guys.  I think we’re down to the 3 of us.  Snehvide, I’m so glad you posted.  You look so happy in your new pic.  I got a closer look through your gallery and noticed that our little site, and group were on your computer.  It’s so awesome to know that we’re connecting in our homes across the globe.

Also, I went to check out Denmark’s time and weather when I saw your post.  Man, it’s cold out there.  Smader may also have frigid  conditions, but today we were in the high 60’s lower 70’s in Austin, tx.

I have to admit that I got a tired of logging calories and seeing my weight move up and down but not to the degree that I wanted.  We’re coming up on our thanksgiving holiday here, so getting back into the swing of things before next Monday is pretty unlikely.  Either way, I’m going to check in regularly again.

BTW where’d you go?  Jerusalem?  Smader, what have you been up to?

Hi Ladies,

It has been too long.  Maybe the challenge was too much :)  Nice to see both of you posting again.  I really need a kick in the pants to keep up the effort especially around this time of year.  Hasta I hear you on the fluctuations.  Although I have to say I am happy that I am moving up and down now below 140.

snehvide-eating healthy snacks at night is great, I have such a hard time when my husband starts scooping ice cream at night, I am never hungry, but love ice cream!

The weather here is getting colder.  We have snow on the ground but it has been melting, I think the highs this weekend will be in the upper 30s -40s.  But that is to be expected this time of year.

Otherwise I have not been up to much, working, playing...eating (too much)  :)  But I would like to kick it into high gear before the holidays.  I have two days of Thanksgiving this year and then December always means a lot of junk at the office.  My goal is to not have the same new year's resolution as last years (at least the start weight will be lower!)

Should we revive the Friday weigh ins?  I am out of town this Friday but I was at 138 today.

I want to get a jump on the rest of the holiday festivities too.  I'd be happy just to break even at the end of it all.  Like you said Smader, if I can do that, at least the new year will begin at a lower weight than last year.  I'll weigh in tomorrow (Sat.).  Today I woke up with swollen fingers.  I'm sure the food and drink yesterday bloated my bod.  Perhaps tomorrow I'll be closer to norm.  I haven't bothered to check the scale for a couple of weeks now.  So it will be a surprise to see the facts that I'll be having to work on.  I plan to get out and walk/jog for 2 miles.  I haven't done a darn thing in quite a while other than walk my dog.

I followed through on my 2 mile/30 minute commitment yesterday.  Calories stayed within goal, but they did include a burger and a lot of fries. (only 1/2 a bun through)  Every little bit has to help.

Weighed in at 137.  I'm ok with that considering my recent layed back weeks. Our renewed weight tracking post follows this entry.

Our new start:

Height 5’2”:

Snehvide gw: 123, 5/23/08: 135.8, 10/24/08: 127.2 11/28/08: ????

Hasta gw: 128, 5/23/08: 143, 10/24/08:136.8, 11/28/08: 137

Height 5’4”:

Smader gw: 130, 5/23/08: 142, 10/24/08 138, 11/28/08: 138

Sounds good to me.  I went to aerobics this morning.  I am going to try to work out as much as I can during this time so if I do slip up at least I have been working out.

Day 1 Oatmeal and grapefruit, Mondays are easy to eat better :)  Harder as the week goes on....

Dear Hasta and Smader - I hope you both had a great Christmas. I've thought about our little group here on and off for the past few months, but have fallen completely off the horse. I do want to get back on, though, and am right now making a bucket list for all the things I want to accomplish for 2009, one of them is reaching my ultimate weight goal and checking in on this site every day to log calories and get my excercising back on track.

I hope you both have a wonderful new year's eve tomorrow, and may 2009 bring you what you need.

(will post weight on friday!)

ciao ladies.

Hi snehvide-

I was just thinking about this site and this post today as well.  I hope you had a great holiday time and Hasta, I hope you had a nice time as well!

I have been maintaining over the holidays.  I need some routine after all of the hectic family stuff and too much food and no control over what is being served to me for a meal.

My plan is to start an 8-week, mega program where I write everything down even if it is a 400 calorie dessert!  I looked through my past info and I was at the same weight I am now at this time last year.  So I need something big to shake off these 10 pounds!

I won't be able to log in my weight on Friday as I will be out of town, but would love to start the week after that.  June 4th is the start of my 8-week challenge.  So a Friday weigh in would be good.

happy new years!

It's so good to hear from you guys.  I've missed my on-line buddies.  Like you, I've completely let go of trying to control diet & excercise in these last couple of holiday months.  Adding to the chaos, my house is undergoing a remodeling that began in mid-Nov.  There's plastic everywhere, furniture cleared and piled in corners of other rooms and a layer of dust over everything.  We should be done by the end of January.

I weighed myself a couple of days ago for the first time in weeks.  (It wasn't good.)  So, I'm ready to get going again too.  I'm planning to start the year with the southbeach diet.  It will be tough but I know it will yield quick results if I can get through the first 2 weeks.

Today, I plan to spend a good part of my day reflecting on the year and setting goals for next year.  I'm grateful for meeting you guys on this site.  I think of you often.  Best wishes for the new year.

Hi ladies

We could start with a new thread and see where it takes us?  Any ideas for names?  It could be....  Fun weightloss group, or the final weightloss, or losing it in 2009, .....

I also think we could post weights in the first thread by the author so then it shows up on the top of the page everytime you go to the thread.

Hasta, if you want to continue updating that is great, I can also help.

What do you think?

Ladies,

I think that sounds like a great idea Smader - i vote for "the final weightloss" -since this is what it's supposed to end up being, right ;-)?

And the idea to post weight on first page - i like it. Let me know if you need for me to do it as well, since i don't mind.

Hasta, south beach - i have the book, but actually never tried it, is it hard? when are you planning on starting? I'll be interested in following your progress.

Smader: an eight mega program - is it a specific program, or is it just logging every little thing?

I'm really motivated to start again, although i must admit that i already "spent" an off day yesterday by drinking beer with a few friends...

can't wait to see you in our new thread...
