Another 10-15lbs group
Hi, I would like to get in shape for the summer...I am currently in college and have gained a bit more weight than I would have liked to:) I am 5'3 and weigh 143lbs...would love to go down to 125lbs or so over the course of the next few months and would love to hear from anyone else with the same situation?
I could certainly do with some motivation...someone to chat to when Im contemplating a chocolate binge:)
P.S. We ladies weight more during our time of the month, usually a ~1-5lbs fluctuation.
Update as of May 25th I weighed 142 now a month later I am down to 138!!! It put me down another size (down to a 6 now)! I am 5'8" and heading for 130.
Hi triffid2002, Just checked out your gallery. Amazing! Congrats on the good work, it's definitely paid off. I'm inspired!
Hello ladies.
I hope this friday finds you all well-
The weigh in today: 130.5... so it's still going the right way - but still quite a ways to go!
107.2 I seem to be at a stall again. I need to up my workouts this week!
I was a little worried about todays weigh in, I had the most delicious burger last night and thought it might just ruin things (but it was totally worth it!)
I'm at 140.5. This weekend I will try to have some fun and run around and slow down eating at all of the bbq's.
I hope everyone's Fridays are good!
Morning.
The current news: 128.4
Keep on keepin' on...
Hi guys,
The news isn't good for me this week. :( 140.4. (up again from 139.8) Again, I'm not surprised. It was an emotional week for me. I'm sure it was partly due to PMS, but another serious challenge also came before me. I'm taking some action to work through, what at the moment seems to be, an uphill battle. We'll see how it goes.
Snehvide, thanks for checking in on me last week. You were right, I guess I was a little down.
Your all doing so well! It is really motivating and helpful to see the downward movements.
Thank you guys for the kind comments regarding my picture.
Well onward & upward! Or should that be downward??? ![]()
Good morning ladies! I'm at 136 even. I went to the gym this morning but I wasn't my perky self. I just did a little cardio and did a little lifting. I got a sweat going, but not to much calories burned. It's one of those blah days. I'll try and go running this afternoon. I usually head on over to Ala Moana Beach park. I love running down there. So much things to see...and people too. Have a good weekend ladies.
hi ladies, im weighin in at 138 on this friday...please god let me start losing more weight and fast, im gettin rather impatient to be honest!! going on hols in eight weeks time and i need to be much more toned etc for it...do u guys think it is possible to be 126lbs by then (12lbs in eight weeks)...honest answers please...if i try much much harder...its just im feeling rather disheartened this evening and need some reassurance...
Hey ter295. It is possible, but you'll have to be really consistent with your diet and exercise. You're looking at 1.5 pounds a week. This is very doable....Just check in everyweek and let us know how your doing. You're doing great!!!
Ladies,
Good to see that you're all still hanging in there, despite the ups and downs that come your way - I've been extremely careful this week not to drink too much alcohol and have managed to calculate it into my daily eat meter, if I knew I would end up going out - it has helped a lot, and also made me aware of the choices I have to make when it comes to losing weight - Ter, what really helps me, is that I see for myself that the 3500 weekly deficit really does take off about a pound a week, and when I have weekends where I go out and end up with a deficit of around a 100 or 200, I do the math and figure out what I need to do for the remainder of the week to even it out - which usually means a higher deficit, but it's okay because I'll have had the fun I need during the weekend - And another thing that keeps me going is the article somewhere on here, that stipulates that we complain about our weight, but forget that it's a daily effort!
Hasta, I hope that you're doing better, and that you'll find some room for yourself in all that you're dealing with :-)
Don't worry Hasta, lol, what's with a good challenge without a few bumps -speaking of which I'm up 2 lbs! Sure I'm sad but I'll live -we just have to keep on moving ladies! Ahaha, all encouragements are welcome!! ![]()
I'm full of questions today:
bettyboop - i looked up ala moana and found picture. it looks wonderful. Do you run on the beach or is there a boardwalk? how far do you run?
snehvide- how is your running going with those awesome new shoes? You really upped your time pretty quickly. Also, when you use the 3500 deficit, do you account only calories or net out the burn meter?
gracelynn - you've on a very successful roll in spite of this past week. (9 lbs in 6 wks! what's your secret? do you knock yourself out with exercise? What type?
Ter - Looks like if we can follow gracelynn's approach the 12 lbs in 8 wks is doable.
Sure I'll let you in on my secret: exercise (that I enjoy) and healthy food (that I enjoy). I've cut back on all sugar items but that's the cause of the 2 lb gain -ahaha, it's my time of the month and the cravings are kicking in; so the no sugar rule is getting revised. ![]()
The chart on p.2 is updated. I'm surprised that we haven't hear from *balehead*. I miss seeing the picture of that really cute guy.
Our group is getting smaller and smaller by the week. So far i have removed those who have not responded since wk 1,2, & now 3. If they're still checking the thread.. you are welcome to come back. I still have your history from where you left off.
Take care guys. Let's have a successful week!
Hey ladies,
well Hasta, my running time is not yet improving, but I do manage to run for a full hour without breaks, just adjusting the speed a bit when my heart rate monitor goes bezerk beeping... the shoes are awesome and support my feet really well, so that makes its own important difference- I runabout 5.4 miles, and hope to up my time and get in even better shape - perhaps work towards a marathon next year :-)
when I calculate my 3500 deficit, I always do it based on my burn meter, and it motivates me to do my excercises if I have dinner invitations.
Great to see that there are still quite a few of us sticking to our great group! I really enjoy it and love to see everyones' progress!
Hi everyone
I hope everyone had a good weekend. It was nice here, kept looking like it was going to rain, but didn't. I might have eaten too much at a potluck Saturday, but I think I did ok today to make up for it. Weekends are my downfall.
Snehvide-I am jealous of your runs, it sounds like fun. I Love running, but a knee injury is keeping me to 3 miles, twice a week. I am hoping that with some rehab I can bring up my time and distance. Marathons are a lot of fun, lots of training but that is fun too.
I am going to be going on vacation here soon, so next week my weigh in will be on Thursday and then the following week I will not have access to the internet and will not be able to post. I'll post as soon as I get back. I am hoping my vacation doesn't become an eat fest. But I will be doing a lot of biking so that is good.
Here is a mini-challenge to anyone who is interested (and I need the motivation) 4 totally "clean" days in a row. Monday-THursday. Whatever clean means to you; a 500 calorie deficit, a 200 cal deficit, or just exercising everyday. Mine is a 500 cal deficit especially because I will be eating and drinking more on my vacation.
Have a good monday!
Interesting challenge smader! Let's do it girl! ![]()
i'm in - mine is a min. 500 def. with excercise.
