Welcome!  We have many young teens here, so you should have no problem making friends.

One thing you need to be aware of - the tools here are geared to adults.  There are some websites that have good information for teens, and I hope you'll have a look at them and use the information well.

Use this BMI calculator for teens

The BMI calculator here on CC is for adults.

Additional resources that might help you

calculator and calorie information for Teens

  • Nutrition, Exercise & Weight Management for Teens
  • More Nutrition & Health for Teens
  • Another thing you need to be mindful of - you are still growing and that means you will have a natural, normal weight gain at some point.  There are times when this gain takes place in a short amount of time and that's called a growth spurt.  Don't get upset when this happens.

To support this growth you need excellent nutrition and enough calories.  Many teens who adopt a good, high nutrition eating plan and a sensible exercise plan, find that they grow into their adult weight without actually losing any pounds.  The important thing is common sense and good judgement.

We wish you all the best and hope you'll use all the tools here, the CC Library, and the articles by experts.

Hi! Welcome to the site. I just turned 14 in September! I have been joined a few months and I really am loving it. It's a great weight loss resource. My aim is to lose 10lbs.
    yay!!

I want to emphasize again that children need to allow for normal growth and any dieting should be done under the supervision of a medical professional.

Please make use of the information I provided in my previous post!!!
