Hello all

Just going to edit the opening post for the Middle of 2009! Smile

Height: 6 Foot 1

hi i am 23 old female i was 135 pounds before i had my daughter and because of multiple problems and high risk prgnancy i went up to 245 pounds. i am now at 235 and would like to get down to at least 145. how did you you do it? any specific foods that you ate? thanks.

Hiya lancerdrift

Its taken a while, and I've done it slowly. I suffer from PCOS so its really difficult to lose weight for me. I think the main thing is give youself treats and "free days" and to not beat yourself up over it- otherwise you wont succeed.

I eat lots of chicken, pork, turkey, fish and plenty of veggies. Pitta breads, low fat dips, low fat cream cheese, ryvitas, salads etc.. I'm not big on fruit so I tend to snack on low calorie yoghurts, crisps (or chips if you are from the US :)

This site has been a MASSIVE help too- get you'reself into some groups and the support from those is better than paying for any weigh watchers groups.

Good luck :)

A tall girl's club? Love it! I'm in there. :)

Age: 20

Height: 5'11"

SW: 240lbs

CW: 227lbs

GW: 160lbs

So I have sixty-seventy pounds to go. :) It's a long treck! o.o Thusfar I'm getting by pretty casually with the weight-loss thing. Just counting calories and trying to go for a long walk everyday. Next month I'm gonna kick it up with a gym membership and hopefully start to see big improvements!

Hey everyone ! I am 19 years old.

Height:5'9

SW: 253

CW: 240

GW:170

I havent lost that much weight yet but I'm well on my way. I'm buying rollerblades soon because I hate running ( getting sick of it )and have just started doing weights.

And congrats laura on your progress!

Yay! I LOVE tall girl clubs, those short girls with their 110 lb goals make me feel like a giant ogre.

Height: 6'1.5" (i always make sure I add in the extra half inch because it changes my BMI numbers. Hey every bit counts to a crazy person)

SW: 320

CW: 189 as of this morning! (woot)

GW: WAS 185 but now that I'm 4 lbs away and can't afford my tummy tuck yet I'm sighing and accepting I should go for the last 15.

Modified GW: (barf) 170

Then again...131 lbs down makes 19 to go seem doable. Good luck, ladies. I know you can kick your pounds off.

Welcome Viyahn, whoroscope and etahbear! Well done to all of you for your success so far!

Etahbear- we are almost twins! (Well, same height and similar starting weights and goal weights) I see you're getting a tummy tuck- I will almost certainly be getting one too! Yay to weight loss but boo to saggy excess skin :(

I'm using the gym 2-3 days a week, but no amount of crunches will get rid of the "apron" of skin. I will enquire as to whether I can get a tummy tuck on the NHS but I dont hold much hope. I would probably have to lower my target weight to about 175 too.

I will cross that bridge when I come to it!

This is me trying to revive this club! Where did everyone go? :(

I weighed in at 226 thismorning! Down a pound, though progress is slow. I might have to pick up my activity a bit -- I think my body is getting used to my new routine!

Well thank you for reviving it! I never saw laurabow's response to me so now I can answer it.

I officially reached my original goal weight this morning of 185.0 and now I'm officially working on my readjusted goal weight of 170. After discussing my skin removal with a doctor friend it turns out that all that excess skin is actually really heavy and I'll probably lose a lot (like 10-15 lbs) through removal. That will put me hopefully at a final weight of around 160. That's a lot thinner than I thought I should be but as the weight came off I'm realizing more and more that I'm still pudgy looking at these higher weights. Padoodles, would be so nice to move to maintenence.

Well done all!!

Viyahn- down a pound is good. I know it sucks when things are slow but you're still losing :)

Etahbear- Whoop! Well done for reaching goal #1 Are you doing anything to celebrate?

I feel kind of bad at the moment, I'm up 5 pounds after spectacularly falling off the wagon and eating EVERYTHING that is wrong. Its the first time since dieting that I've done this- had a 5 day period of eating loads of rice and pasta, cheese, pizza, potatoes etc... It's not quite bingeing but I couldnt seem to stop myself!

I know I can get back on track, and I will probably lose the 5 pounds quite quickly. Im just kicking myself a bit :(

Laurabow- I already commented on this to you but I did the same thing a couple weeks ago and it's all good now. It's so good that you got to let loose and give yourself a break but the guilt is good too, it's what gets you back to the right track.

Today to celebrate I'm going to load both my kids into a bike trailer and walk the 6 miles to a clothing store I have a coupon for, buy something fantastic for half off, then walk back another 6 miles. It's not the exercise that worries me so much it's the idea that the kids will probably kill each other before this day is through. Let them, I deserve a sexy new dress.

Ha Ha! I love shopping too- and sometimes theres nothing that will stop me. Plus, if you have a coupon it makes it even more justified! Everyone deserves a sexy dress!

Im going to stay with my parents this weekend, which is always nice. They dont live too far away (about an hour and a half on the train). I'm going to try not to give in to too much temptation but they have booked a meal at my favourite italian restaurant. So on saturday night Im going to say 'sod it!'. I will be extra good all next week and try and go to the gym as much as I can.

226 again, today. Starting to get really discouraged. No loss in a week! I have to change somethign I'm doing, maybe. Cut more clories? Exercise more? Eat different kinds of foods? I guess we'll see.

I'll let you guys know how it turns out.

Hi Ladies!

OBVIOUSLY this group is meant for me to join as well.

Height: 5'11.75 ( I know what Etah means about every portion of an inch)

SW - 285

starting CC weight - 275

CW - 258.5

GW - 200

Etah, you are my new hero. 150 lbs is an amazing accomplishment. Congratulations on setting a goal and reaching it.

Right now I'm trying to hit 1500 calories a day, 60 minutes of cardio 5-6 days per week, weights 3 days and a routine for crunches/core strength.

I joined CC on Aug 11 and I've lost 17lbs since then and am exceedingly proud :)

Glad I found you fellow TALL girls here!!!!

You always know when I'm online because every thread that has the word "tall" in it goes to the top of the list. I shouldn't even technically be part of this group, I just talk too much and am butting in.

But thank you, shizzigirl. That's very sweet of you and when you drop it all you'll be the hero, and you know you're going to get there. Hell, you already lost 30 and that's a HUGE deal, good for you!

Hello all

Welcome shizzigirl well done for your loss so far and hopefully we can encourage each other to continue!

Etah- I can imagine maintaining can be just as difficult as losing. And "butting in" is always welcome. Its just refreshing to speak to people who arent 5 foot 1 and trying to be 90 pounds!

Viyahn- I havent had a big loss in AGES, despite upping my exercise. I even put on 8 pounds in 2 weeks without going over 1700 cals!!! So I know how you feel when you dont see the scale moving, it is discouraging but I'm sure something will shift it. Let me know if something works for you :)

Well- I've managed to lose about 2-3 pounds that i'd put on, which is good. I did too much at the gym the other day and my thighs are shouting at me! Was meant to be going tonight but I may give my muscles another days rest.

Laura, thanks for the welcome and I know what you mean about the short girls trying to lose... I'm just about 6ft AND I have a gigantic bone structure :( At my smallest, 220 I was a size 14 borderline 12 - some things just aren't possible.

Etah, I'm glad you're here. You're great encouragement to see that it CAN be done!

Viyahn, are you close to TOM? That always sets me back about 3-5lbs...

I was looking for a group like this! Y'all seem to be pretty sassy, and I'm a big- mouth and tall, so can I join? :-) I'm originally from Cali, and though never thin-thin, I was a lifeguard and blonde and got away with a lot. Now I live in Berlin and dyed my hair brown, and as a treat to myself when I lose weight, I think I'll go back to blonde. I just started this site 5 days ago...after a revelation that I was taking myself out of the equation way too much because I thought I was too fat to be good enough. Does that make sense to anybody? (It's late and I have my put-the-kid-to-bed glass of red wine next to me)

I have a concert coming up in October where there's going to be industry people there, and I'm the lead singer, and I would hate for anyone to say, Oh wow, the music is great but the singer is not sexy enough. And the other 5 girls are THIN. So I am embarking on my journey...

What a revelation this site is. I thought I was eating healthy and just not losing. I also have a broken thyroid, so I was putting the blame on that. But I wasn't realizing how many actual calories and fat I was eating! Way too much.
Did anyone else feel wierd after the first week? Today my body was tingling the whole day and I was dizzy so I upped my calories to 1800. The first four days I was staying below 1500 and exercising 1 hour a day hardcore. So today I just did 35 minutes on the elliptical and took a 30 minute fast walk with the stroller. Ok Stats...

Height: 6'0

SW: I don't know since I threw my scale away a couple months ago. It was gathering dust. I'm thinking I'm about 250.

CW: Don't know, but I'll buy a scale tomorrow, promise

GW: 180

Today I just needed to join a group to keep motivated, I kept hearing a yummy German chocolate bar calling my name... So sorry if I typed my whole life story!

Etah, your photos are fab!

Ofelia, I read your bio and "bringing sexy back" should be this group's motto! Welcome on board, tall girls unite! I know exactly what you mean about being "the fat one". In fact I think this site is so great because we understand where everyone else is from experience. I love this group bc we're taking into account our tallness which is a BIG factor.

HELP!!!!! I am Meisha.

I have been working out like crazy and haven't dropped a freakin POUND!!!! But on the bright side I haven't gained. So here I am counting calories. I'm in the gym five days a week, but I do enjoy the spirits. So I've cut out the boos too.  My height is 5'8" so I'm short an inch but I hope you ladies don't mind. I'm just starting out so here are my stats:

SW is 203 lb.

CW 203 lb

GW is 170 lb

I'm hoping the calorie counting and gym combined will help me reach my goal by March. I would like to lose at least 20 of these pounds by January. I'm getting so discouraged, but the bulge is keeping me going. Keep up the good work with the weight loss ladies, and let a sista know your secrets!!

Wooo I have that friday feeling!! :) (remember i am in the UK here-there is time delay...).

Im really looking forward to the weekend. I'm going to a club on saturday night which plays all my favourite music (alternative, rock, metal, punk etc..), and people tend to get properly dressed up! There is a big retro/ burlesque element which I love. I have a gorgeous 1950's style Black and white gingham check dress and a red steel boned underbust corset (pulls my waist into 31 inches!!!). Team that with retro hair and makeup and I will give Dita Von Teese a run for her money!! lol.

Welcome to the new folk Ofeliajones we seem very similar! I was born and lived in Germany until I was 10 (Air force child). There are LOADS of german foods I really miss and cant get in the UK. I'm also a blonde who dyes her hair dark (but I really prefer mine dark). We have a similar current weight and goal weight :)

Meisha- Welcome too! and of course you can still join at 5'8 :) I go to the gym several times a week too and also enjoy a good drink!! (but I havent cut that out though) I just stick to vodka and diet coke. I understand it is discouraging when you are working so hard and not seeing results, I'm in the same situation at the moment. But persevere and we will get there!
