Another Tall Club- 5'9" + 50-70 pounds to lose (Now ANY amount to lose)
Hello all
I know there are already a few tall clubs going out there, but are already quite established, so I decided to start a fresh one!

Im a 25 year old female, my stats are:
Height: 6 Foot 1
SW: 330
CW: 195
GW:175-180
Starting BMI: 44
Current BMI: 25.6
If there is anyone out there who has similar stats/targets please feel to use this group to rant, share losses and sucess stories. This group was originally for people with 50-70 to lose but I have adjusted it as everyone is doing so well!!! Now anyone tall with weight to lose can join![]()
That's awesome, Mrs. D! I can't wait until 30 pounds later I hit 191. And you've been working your butt off! The reason I said that about Berlin, is that most people (including me) when they picture Germany they think beer, funny pants and cuckoo clocks. Berlin is like San Fran and New York in one city! So no offense taken, i was just being a smartypants.
Uh, you're right about the beer-nothing wrong with that! Never thought of the funny pants, and, oh yeah, the clocks! Didn't make the connection. If it's anything like San Francisco, and I used to live down there, that's pretty cool. Hmm, lot of gays, then? Ha ha ha. But seriously, there are. And Berkley is like the Lesbian capital of the world-I used to live there, too. They never could understand why I was with a man, they thought something was wrong with me!
I find it funny, though, still on the alternative preference thing-why gay men don't hate women, but Lesbian's REALLY hate men. Go figure.
Mrs. D - Congratulations! That's so great. It's been a while since I've been under 200. It's always nice to break through each ten pound mark. Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to celebrate with you after I weigh. (I won't be anywhere near 200, but every little bit helps.) I'm shooting for 200 by July 2009. We'll see.........

Mrs D- congrats with the new low weight! whoop. Fantastic. There's nothing quite like that 'lowest weight in ages' feeling.
Ofelia- I could eat vietnamese food all the time! I have a great oriental supermarket nearby which sells all the rice papers for the spring rolls and all the lovely dipping sauces etc... LOVE the noodle broths.
Lisa- My scales are weight watchers scales and they are pretty damn accurate. The cost about £30 ($60??) but they also weigh you against your height, activity level and water level- as well as calculating your body fat percentage and BMI. Not saying that BMI is an accurate indicator- but they are handy extras!The weight number doesnt jump up and down when you are stood on it either.
Well bring on the weekend already! I'm sooooo bored. I'm suffering from SSDD syndrome. Work, home, eat dinner, sleep (with the odd cleaning bout/ workout thrown in). I need to do something different- but I'm not sure what.
I have reached 220! :o) Despite the 2lb gain the other day I seem to have dropped 3lb overnight to get to a new low weight. Soooooo:

DAMN MrsD and Laura, yall are doing a GREAT job! Laura you'll be in onederland before you know it! I can't remember ever being under 200lbs. I guess I was at some point as a kid but that doesn't really count. I'm very interested to see what 200lb Dawn looks like.
Ofeila, I LOVE country music. It's crazy, I'm black and I grew up outside of DC but I can't help it. I blame it on my daddy being from South Carolina :) That Hank Williams tribute show looked awesome!
Sara- we have almost the same guideline. I wanted 200 by May 10th but I'm looking more like a late Juner! Once I hit 200 my plan is to take a break for 2 months, work on maintenance and then get those last 20lbs off before Jan 2010!
I didn't feel well the last couple of days so I haven't had the best workout. I plan on going today after work and walking on the treadmill. Other than Moe's on Monday I've been doing very well this week counting. The BIG challenge is going to come for me tomorrow morning. We are taking my gym buddy's daughter to IHOP. I have yet to be able to order anything remotely healthy there...we'll see.

Shizzigirl- Yeah, my ultimate goal is 170 by the end of this year, but that leaves NO room for slip-ups, so if I'm at 190 by 1/1/10, I can live with that.
Hey Everyone!
Well yesterday my friends and I were talking about Spring Break and we're gonna go on a cruise! I am so excited! But then...I thought about bathing suits! I'm not sweating it too much, I'm going with friends and they love me regardless, but I see this as extra motivation to shed a few more pounds. The cruise is a week long and we leave March 22. So I have about 11 weeks to lose as much as weight as possible. I am aiming for 20 pounds, but I know that'll be super intense, but I am going for it nonetheless. So excited!
Ofelia: I totally understand the worry over sufficient cals, but I'm eating several times a day, and I don't feel hungry. I also wanted to haze myself for a bit to start the year, you know get back into it hardcore, and now with the cruise, I think I might stretch it longer. Once I see weight coming off steadily, I might increase the cals, but not by much, probably around 1600. I want to speed up the process so I try and limit my cals.
MrsD: I am so envious! You are doing great. Seeing that you made it back to your ellusive weight makes me confident I will get back to mine soon. My weight had dropped pretty fast the last few days, I think of it as leveling out to my old weight, and my period should be over tomorrow, so the water retention is going to be gone too.
Shizzi: Oh no IHOP! I have this mentality that if I am going out to eat, I am going out to eat! But I have to modify this as it is not very helpful. I am actually going out to dinner tomorrow with a friend who is leaving, don't know where we're going, but I made up my mind whatever I have will be something on the guiltless menu. I find it best to just put myself in those situations, but I know sometimes you can't help it. You need to release the tiger once again at the gym! Weren't you going somewhere for spring break??
Laura: I really want to invest in a scale like the one you described. Mines is good, but its my roommates and I want my own lol. I want to see your pictures! I am going to try and post more pictures, showing full body, so I ( and you) can see the changes over time.
Saraha: You can reach your goals, just stay motivated and even if you have a few slip ups, overall weight loss is always good. Keep posting!
I feel good. My period is subsiding and I don't feel bloated anymore. I need to find a cute one piece bathing suit, like 50's style, those are adorable! Well good luck ladies, I will talk to you guys later :)
So I weighed this morning and.....264! Down 4.8 pounds since Monday
. I know the weight won't always come off this fast, but it sure is a nice jump start and one step toward my goal of 170.

Sarah, congrats on being down down down this week! Very nice. Honestly, getting down to 180 is such a big challenge for me that I’m scared to go any lower. Maybe next year I’ll feel differently.
Sharpie - 4 of my girls and I are driving down to Jacksonville to pick up 1 more chick before we head to Panama City Beach. We have a 2br/2bth condo right on the beach less than 1 mile from MTV's village. We are very excited and I hear you LOUD AND CLEAR regarding getting back into a swimsuit. I was always a tankini girl so this year the plan is to look GOOD in a tankini. I'm hoping to be between 215-220 by 3/6.
I am down to an AMAZING 234.50 which is the lowest weight that I can EVER remember being. Just to put it in perspective in the 6th grade at age 11, I was in a size 18, PUBERTY slimmed me down to a 14. I held 14/16 for about 6 years before getting back up to an 18. I'm seriously not going to know what to do with myself when the next 20 comes off!
Speaking of swimsuit season…where do yall get yours from?!??!
Swimsuits!!????! I'm freezing my arse off here and you guys talk about swimsuits! I have 4 layers on at the moment...mmm, beach.

Boy, do I know the swimsuit issue! Only too well! My hubby and I are hopefully going back to Mexico-Cabo San Lucas-in late February or maybe March. I'll be taking several suits, both 2 piece and 1 piece, and be damned if anyone doesn't want to see me in a suit! It's Mexico, Baby!

Saraha: Way to go! Yeah, my weight has been doing the same thing as you, sort of melting off lol It won't last, but once it slows down don't get frustrated! One pound a week to lose is good, and there are always fluctuations, so even if it goes up a little, it'll probably go down just as fast if you keep it up. Good Job!
Shizzi: I hate re-typing posts, they're never as good as the original...lol...How fun! You could definitely lose 15 pounds in that time frame, but you're going to need to be a beast at the gym and counting those cals. How fun! I think I may do a tankini as well, but I really want a cute one piece. One pieces can be super hot too! Way to reach your lowest! I am cutting it closer to 250...
MrsD: Don't you just love Mexico?? I'm Mexican, so I'll feel right at home. No seriously, I go every year, but to this little town, so I am actually doing the vacation Mexico most people do, no deaing with chickens and cows for me! lol
Well today has been a good day. I went to the gym and my weight went down again. 253.8 this morning, hoping to get it to 252 flat by next Friday. I know I can do that, this is still the weight I gained from the holidays. Once I am at 251 or lower is when new weight will be coming off. Until then, be good this weekend ladies! I know I'll be trying lol

As I sit here, hyperventilating in a paper bag, let's review what I did today! I hit the Stillaguamish Tribe Smoke shop for a couple of cartons of smokes, $57.77. Then I hit Costco, dropped 156.23, then on to the Orowheat Outlet store, only 5.47 there. Then on to Bath & Body Works, got shower gels, lotions, facial scrub, dropped 47.94 there, then up to the pet shop to get bird food, that was 16.20. Stopped at the Liquor Store for another bottle of Jameson Irish Whiskey for 26.96. Then hit QFC for some Better than Bouillon Turkey, Safeway for deli sliced turkey meat, a half rack of foo-foo beer and a replacement bottle of Chardonnay to replace what I drank last night. Came home, ate lunch, mentioned to my husband they had bottles of Skyy Orange Vodka for $10.00 each, so I went back and picked up 3 bottles for the wet bar down stairs. Hit Staples for some little legal pads, (I've given up putting the dollar amounts in, just makes it worse!)and then back home. My son called, wanted to borrow $50, so I went back to Safeway got a money order(don't ask)for my student loan that's 20 years old, and cash for the kid. Then I came home and up-dated the check book. Then I started hyperventilating! Holy Crap-I spent a **** load of money today!
Uh, I'm gonna go get a couple of shots now. Another "day off".
I gotta pay off that stupid student loan, actually, I'll be paying it off this tax-refund time. Twenty years, that's pathetic.
You know, sometimes it's such a pain in the ass, trying to upload what I've eaten for the evening. I thought, obviously- WRONG,that when I uploaded an item, that it would JOIN the database for foods-WRONG! I have to keep inputting new stuff that I've already loaded before. IS THERE SOMETHING WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE? I should hope the F**K so! So-tonight, I'm not noting ANYTHING, because I'm so flipping tired of inputting the same f**king stuff! HELLO! Is anybody there? Do you people ACTUALLY police this website? Can't you get with the program and make this USER FRIENDLY?
I pretty much eat almost the same things everyday. No ****. I vary my dinners somewhat, and WHY do I have to keep going back to the previous days menu's to input what I've eaten? Come on! Make this BETTER!

Wow. You sound frustrated. I know how that money thing is, the second you start spending it just piles up! But it sounds like you needed everything you bought (except maybe the bath lotions, but good smells=good sex, etc. so yup, you needed everything. So chill. The vodka will last awhile, and you saved money on the smokes by buying tribal. I roll mine, since I'm a pack a day smoker and this way it only costs me 10 bucks a week and looks cool.
The food thing, either "tag" a food, or put it in as a recipe, like your breakfast for example. Then just go to your tags or recipes and it saves lots of time fumbling around the stupid archive.

Thanks, Ofelia. I ended up getting pretty hosed (again, bad-2 nights in a row) and nibbling my way through the kitchen. That's the bad part of over indulging, I forget what I'm trying to do and nosh on all sorts of things I wouldn't normally eat. Then I discovered I "hurt" my hip some how, maybe I had a temporary loss of equilibrium and took a tumble, whatever, it hurts enough that I'm afraid it's going to limit my workouts. I'll find out this morning whether I can do my workout or not.
Thanks for the info on tagging, I hadn't tried using them before. Should make things go a bit quicker.
Didn't think I could do it, but managed to do a full body stretch-little iffy there, sore-but felt better when I got done. Then did crunches, pushups, leg lifts & kicks, and even lifted weights. Felt ten times better than earlier this morning. Not as sore. Didn't do any cardio, though. And that's kind of bad, because that's where I expend the majority of my calories and not doing it put's me at a disadvantage. So, I'll have to be careful today. Unfortunately, this evening we're having a dinner party and I'm REALLY not good at portion control-if it's not a Lean Cuisine or Healthy Choice dinner, I tend to take too much. Plus, my friend Heather, is bringing a dessert and I don't know what it is...mystery dessert.
Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to do my cardio, the full 75 minutes, and try to reverse this temporary weight gain. Gotta stay away from the booze! Makes me screw up every time!
How can I make walking fun?
You have to find a way to make exercise fun or else you won't do it. If you walk indoors on a treadmill, I recommend moving outdoors into the fresh air... Read more
