Hi Ladies,

I wasn't as good as I could have been this weekend. I went out with my girls last night and drank quite a bit of vodka. That wasn't so bad but because we ended up in Adams Morgan we had to have jumbo slice: http://lh3.ggpht.com/_ISRuLIX4EKY/SB-rB-TIgqI /AAAAAAAAB7k/-mCCi52WVME/CIMG2236.JPG

If you've never had one...don't. It blows your CC for a week. This morning I weighed in at 235 which is the result of poor eating and no exercise the last couple of days. We'll see what the morning brings. Once I can FINALLY shake this cold I know I'll do better at the gym. On the other hand I've been hella thirsty so I'm getting my water in with no problem.

MrsD, you're hard work is an inspiration. Thank you. And by the way...I definetely borrowed 50 bucks from my mom yesterday.

I got everything prepped for dinner tonight. Made Ranch Dip with non-fat sour cream, chopped spinach, and diced water chestnuts. That's going in a round french bread bowl loaf, served with baby carrots, broccoli spears, celery sticks and home grown cherry tomatoes, chunks of french bread from making the bowl.  Made up my turkey-portabella loaf, two actually. It'll be served with  a mushroom gravy and low-fat whipped potatoes. Heather's bringing shrimp stuffed endive leaves and dessert, Melissa is bring rolls. I put out butter, for the guys, and Light Smart Balance for the girls. We'll have a couple of bottles of Chardonnay chilled on the table, along with glasses of ice water.

It's eleven o'clock and I'd better hit the shower. Get dressed in my party duds. Going casual with slacks and a sweater.

Gotta keep the idiot birds away from the dinner table! They're too curious for their own goods!

Good afternoon everyone! It's Sunday :) My weight continues to go down, it was at 252.2 this morning, down from yesterday. I am almost to 250! If I can get beloew 252 tomorrow, then I hope to be under 250 by next Sunday. I've lost a LOT this week. Well lost from what I gained, so about 2 weeks of being bad and 2 weeks of being good is evening out. I'm happy, because it does not usually work out that way. I wasn't able to make it to the gym yesterday and am not going today but Monday it's back on. I'm pretty much gymming 4 times a week. Mon Tue Wed and Fri. Some weeks I can do Sunday, but I work today so its a no go. But I feel great! I believe I am on track for my cruise goal weight :) I still feel extremely motivated (good because its only been one week!) and like I can keep it up. I am so happy to be back at school, where everything is organized lol.

MrsD: Sounds like you are prepared for you dinner tonight, how fun! and I get you on the money thing. I always budget my money to start the month, but after about 2 days realize I went over, even though everything I got I needed!

Shizzi: OMG, that is a HUGE piece of pizza...I'm sure I would love it! lol We don't really have good pizza places in LA, well there is one by my apt thats good, but I wanna try some East coast pizza, I've heard its delicious lol But we do have BOMB Mexican food, or for me I guess just food lol Seeing as I am Mexican lol. Way to keep hydrated, I have been good about that too. I ate out yesterday, but it was a teriyaki bowl, so it was not too bad. Everything grilled Mmmmm. Well get back into it! 235 is where i want to be for spring break =] I'll be so happy!

Hello all!

I had a fairly good weekend, too much alcohol as per usual but did okay on the food front. ( I blame the Christmas amaretto).

Shizzi- Finding a swimsuit is a nightmare with a long body and big bust! There is a plus size store in the UK which you can buy things online from loads of countries, as they deliver to the US, Germany (ofelia) etc. The shop is www.evans.co.uk and you need to click on the US flag on the top right of the page- it will direct you to the USA Evans site. They have some really cute swimwear/tankinis on there, and will be adding more. I will be buying the black and white polka dot retro tankini! You will probably need to order it in a UK size, but there is a conversion chart.

Apparently a UK 18 is a US 14??? (I suppose each store is different) Is 43-36-44 a US 14?

We had a good time last night, the shrimp stuffed endive was low-fat and delicious! Heather brought chocolate dipped strawberries, dried apricots and pecans-yummy! A bit of a surprise, I didn't gain any weight! I fully expected to, so that was a nice beginning to the day.

However, for some reason, because of the booze I've been drinking this last weekend?, anyway, I'm feeling kind of run down, energy-less. I tried to do my cardio, but only moderately did 30 minutes, way short of my vigorous 75 minutes, and I don't feel like doing anything else. What gives? Why do I feel this way? I must admit my left hip is still sore, and I don't know why.

So I guess today's kind of a wash out, nothing accomplished, except for the laundry I have to do.

Sharpie - one time, a friend picked us up from the bars, 4 people and 3 jumbo slices. I was literally holding my out the window because there was no room for it in the car...glad I don't eat like that on the regular anymore.

Laura - very nice website. I'm just really really hesitant with all the conversions (size, money, timing) that would need to be done.

MrsD - I slept through my alarm and got to the gym an hour late. I did 10 minutes on the stairmaster then parked my butt on the couch and chitchatted for 30 minutes... I decided I will go back this evening and at least WALK for 60 minutes

I weighed in this morning at 236. I know that's because of the junkfood and lack of exercise. I've decided that this week for working out I'm ONLY going to walk. I'm also doing evening workouts. Mornings are just too hard with this head cold :(

Good luck ladiebugs!

Shizzi: That's unfortunate about the cold weather. That is definitely one of the best things about living in SoCal, the weather. Yesterday we walked to CVS here and my roommate and I were wearing shirts and flip flops lol. I don't think I would like working out in the cold either, but I guess you have to adapt to your surroundings. And I totally feel you on the moderation bit. Of course its best if you don't eat that stuff, but at the same time you want to enjoy life and sometimes that involves eating a blanket of pizza lol. If ever in your area, I will for sure try to get a jumbo slice lol

MrsD: Oh no, it seems you're in a rut. Right now I am super motivated, but I remember back when you would post your workouts, I was in your situations. I'd go to the gym, do a few things, but all I could think about was jow much I wanted to go home. I don't know what tell you besides remembering your goals. When I want to leave Ialways remind myself why I am there and what leaving would lead to. Maybe you should take a few days off just to clear your mind, making sure to still eat right and then in a few days, you can gradually build up yor work out again. When I restarted working out I could not do either the intensity or time that I used to dio, but after a little I worked my way back there. Keep it up MrsD, you got this!

So today I am so close to my all-time low of 250.8. I have 0.4 from that and 1.3 from being below 250! AHHH so excited. I still feel extremely motivated and do not see this motivation leaving any time soon. I already out all my food in my food log. I have a little room if I overeat, but then again my calorie goals are low (1400), leaving a little bit of room incase I snack or something. Well I am just enthralled, can't wait for the rest of the week. I survived the weekend and now the rest of the week should allow for more weight loss. I want to be at 250.5 by Wednesday. We'll see how that goes. I'm just so excited lol I think I may have already said that lol. I'm hitting the gym today, so that should definitely help too. Peace.

Ladies, wow. After being at 220 and fluctuating up to 222 and back down again the whole month of december, this morning I am down to 219!!! I cracked the 100 kilo barrier and am now in the double digits! 99.4 to be exact, which is 219.1. It's so pyschological for me to be under that 100 kilo mark. I'm so focused on my 80 kilo goal weight, which is 176. Of course I'll be happy with 180!

I have been MOVING. I do 3.7 miles a day on the elliptical with a lot of resistance, and have been doing body weight excersises and weights. And I'm eating so many fruits and veggies I'm gonna sprout leaves soon. Wednesday is my official weigh in, and maybe I'll be down a pound more. I upped my workout to 1 hour and 30 min.

Laura-I'm pretty sure a UK size 18 is a US 16. I just got screwed buying new pants here, I thought a 46 was a US 16, but it's an 18 and they are falling OFF. I just didn't have the time to try them on! Stupid me, because I am a very solid 16 now.

Shizzi - I woulda totally gone for that pizza!

Mrs. D- Don't get too down on yourself, as you can tell, we all indulge in a glass or 4 now and then! I drank 2 beers and 3 small whiskeys last night and managed to keep them within my cal count.

Sharpie- Good job, but now I want BOMB Mexican food (virtually impossible to find good ones here, in fact I wanted to open up a Tiki Taco Truck when i first got here and being from Cali I miss it desperately. I could live off Mexican food or sushi for the rest of my life and be happy. I even got so desperate that I started making my own tortillas and mole)

Ofelia: OMG I <3 sushi too! Yep, I love food in general, that's kind of my problem. lol Way to go, doesn't it feel great to get into a new decade! I hope I can break my plateau this week and go down below 250. Way to kick butt working out :) I don't really know conversion charts and I never buy clothes online or without trying them on. Some 16's are too big and some are too small lol It all depends on the brand. That's why I am measuring myself to see inches. But I think right now I am at a 16/15, I can squeeze into some 14/13, but that is not a pretty picture lol. But yeah, woop 16! Hope to be at a comfortable 14/13 by my cruise =]

I am just at work, reading and chillin lol This is probably the chillest job I will ever have...I don't really do anything besides sit in front of a computer and help people log in, but everyone is so computer literate, I'm not really needed lol...

I'm with Sharpie, generally I just love food. Bring it on!

Ofelia, you're on such a roll. ROLL FELIA ROLL!

Update - my period started today so hopefully that explains the overeating and the 1.5lb gain.

OMG!!! My Victoria's Secret stuff came this evening and it all fits! Wahoo! Even the slacks-which look fantastic! I especially love the cashmere sweater! But the "sparkly" gold-tone LOW scoop long-sleeve top looks pretty darned good, too! I am pumped NOW! Tomorrow I am WORKING OUT BIG TIME! YES!

Yum yum food- I was sat trying to think of my favourite cuisine but I just can't!!! I <3

Thai
Vietnamese
Chinese
Japanese
Greek
Indian
Italian
moroccan
Lebanese..................................... I could be here all day :o)

I was bought a slow cooker for Christmas and hadnt yet used it. Last night I cut up loads of veg (Carrot, swede, onions, bell peppers, mushrooms) and put them in the slow cooker with lean braising/stewing steak, low sodium beef stock, rosemary, bay leaf and a good splosh of red wine and let the whole thing simmer slowly for 4 hours. It was delicious and there's plenty left to freeze in batches.

Sharpie- You'll be under 250 in no time! Feel the pull of the 240's!!!

Ofelia- Yay twin! Well done, I am also down to 219 as of this morning. Hoorah for the 210's! 39 pounds to goal.....

MrsD-Way to go with the new clothes! I absolutley love getting new stuff that I know I would never have worn before, nay, couldnt fit a pinky toe in before! It totally boosts your confidence. Well done.

Kick some **** girls!

Yeah, sushi is the best.  I’ve tried to look up the calorie count on it, but everywhere I look it is different and when people are hand-making the rolls, who knows what a serving really is?

I did ok the past few days I guess.  I really struggle on the weekends.  During the week at work, I just bring the right things and that’s all I have there to eat.  And I’m occupied all day working.  On the weekends, there is all kinds of time and a refrigerator full of food.  I always have a “cheat” night when I drink and eat something that I have been craving.  So on Friday, I had a (big) bottle of wine and Mexican Pizza.  I LOVE pizza.  Then on Saturday, I went with my family to my niece’s basketball game and they went out for pizza after.  I ordered a 7” thin crust veggie pizza and only ate half of it.  I drank water so that probably wasn’t too bad.  I stayed on track for the rest of the day.

Then Sunday came…I was off work Monday, and I had this gift card to Chili’s that I hadn’t used so for some reason I thought it would be a good idea to use it before we start the biggest loser at my job.  So I had Crispy chicken tacos, a pale ale, and a dirty martini (okay 2 martinis).  But, yesterday I ate a good lunch and was so busy going back to class that I didn’t eat again all day.  We’ll see on Friday how it all plays out.

Yeah, saraha75, I can really relate with the weekends. The thing is, I don't work, but I'm home alone during the week and have a good bit of control on myself. It's during the weekends, and I'm including Friday night, that I really screw up.  Mostly I don't drink any alcohol. At least, I hadn't really been drinking, but this last weekend I really indulged and let it run over all the way through last night.  I didn't drink a lot, mind you, well-I guess I did Friday night, because mysteriously my left hip was really sore and I have a huge bruise on my left hand that I don't know how I got!-but anyway, the point is, I wasn't drinking. But I gained about 3 pounds from that laspe in judgement and now I'm working hard to put it right!

I WILL NOT be drinking any this week, but we have a company party at a casino this Saturday and I don't want to be tempted to drink, not only do I not NEED the calories (on top of the dinner that'll be served), but I'm the designated driver and I will not take a chance of getting popped for a DUI! So my plan is to be GOOD! We'll see how I do.  We opted not to spend the night at the casino, it's not that far from our home, so I might just go ahead and give my drink "tickets" to my husband and let him go wild! I can handle that. I'll plan on saving my calories for the dinner and dessert part of the evening.

Pizza? I don't dare, I wouldn't stop at just a slice or two!

Hi there, new here, another TALL girl to add to the group! I'm Susie and here are my stats:

Age: 22 (23 in three months!)

SW: 228

CW: Haven't checked

1st GW: 195

2nd GW: 175

Starting BMI: 30.1

So yes, I've been eating healthy the last two weeks. Working out everyday for at least 10 mins, except weekends when I do lots of walking in the stores!
Whereas I want to loose weight, I'm not killing myself in doing so, you'll find I'll pretty much eat stuff that I want: pizza, chocolate, ice cream; but only now and then and I don't over do it.

Chastise me if you must, t'will do not a lick of good. LoL!

Susie, I'm glad that you found us. We've got a great group going here, yes I'm bias but it's also true!

And now, to follow Susie's post...

If I have a BigMac for dinner I will come in at 1563 calories for the day, with 167 to spare... Should I do it? Probably not. Will I? Yes. I am on my period and dammit I want some comfort food.

I'm not going to the gym today. Again, gasp. Being sick and then immediately having TOM come to visit is the worst combination ever. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be up to it :)

MrsD, I'm so jealous and proud of you for the VS stuff. What a sweet sweet reward.

Laura, maybe it's easier for us to list the foods we DON'T like :)

I hope yall have a good day!

Shizzi-

Let's see, foods I don't like:

Mayonnaise and....um, yeah, that's about it!

Sadly, the only food I don't like is okra. Other than that, I'll try just about anything. Have to admit sushi didn't exactly ring my bell, but gimme some Mexican food and I'll sing for ya! Seriously, I wouldn't do that-I KNOW I can't sing!

Shizzi - At least you aren't craving Whoppers. Big Macs are slightly (ever so slightly) better than Whoppers!

Foods I don't like:  Squash.

Susie, I firmly believe that the BigMac is a masterpiece. Unequaled in creation :)

MrsD, ever had fried okra? It's lovely. My dad was from SC and okra's a delicacy.

Sara! I LOVE mayonaise, it laughs in the face of mustard!

Foods I don't like, olives, licorice,  and salami. It took me 10 minutes to come up with those 3...
