For some reason when I got home tonight I felt very...weird...I ate a 100cal pack of cookies and then decided to go to my mother's house. I stopped at Boston Market and got the 1/4 chicken meal with grean beans which comes out to about 500 calories. Then, when I got to my mother's I made a chicken salad sandwich with extra mayonaise...regular mayonaise.

Looks like today was one of my cheat days...

I'm right there with you on the goal clothes! You arent a loser. I have a pair of jeans in a UK size 16 (which I think is a US size 12, but correct me if I'm wrong) which I actually went out and bought when I was 330 pounds. They fit me fine in the legs and thighs already but theres a good way to go on the hips/stomach. I also tend to buy clothes that are a little on the small side so I can lose into them. One problem with losing a lot of weight is the money you end up spending on clothes along the way!

Yesterday I had a bread fest! In fact just a plain carb overload. I ate some home made chicken curry (made with all low fat ingredients) and then ate it with rice and 2 naan breads!!! Im off for a swim tonight so I will shake those little blighters off.

My weaknesses arent sweet foods or chocolate, its carbs! pasta, bread, rice and CHEESE! nom nom!!!

Hi everyone, I would love to be in this tall club. My name is Jennifer, I'm 5'9 and I'm FAT!! LOL    Thank goodness I'm tall or it would be really bad. But I've been reading all the post and I think you are all exactly what I need for support and help. I'm a real sucker for breads and pastas also, never really had a problem with sweets. I have a hard time fitting in exercise but I know I've got to.

My starting weight as of Tuesday: 226

I did weigh in this morning bc I couldn't stand it I just had to but my

CW: 224

I really would love, love, love to get to 180lbs, I have been smaller before but with my heighth I start to look like I'm sick. My cheeks start sinking in and that's not attractive to me.

Hello and welcome Jenndoz!

It is good that there are people out there that are similar height/weight and goal to me. 180 is my target weight too :o)

I cant believe its friday already! This week has gone by sooo fast. Ive got another "day off" this saturday as I'm going to stay with my brother this weekend. We are going to a football match (soccer) which involves all the usual English delights; fish and chips and pork pie! I know my brother would be outraged if I refused!!! Then there will be a rather copious amount of alcohol consumed!

Hey ho... What is everybody else doing at the weekend?

Good morning Laurabow, I got up this morning and just had to weigh again and this week I have actually lost 2lbs...woo hoo

SW: 225

CW: 223

GW: 180

Hi Girls! Happy FREAKING FRIDAY!

Woohoo - well I'm holding at 257 this week which isn't good but it's also not as bad as it could be and I KNOW I'm leading a healthier life!

Jen, welcome welcome welcome! 2lbs down is awesome! I can't wait to see the scale move that low for myself :)

Laura, I firmly believe that Saturdays should be "off" days. Just try not to make all 3 meals and the snacks TOO unhealthy!

This weekend I have BIG plans to:

1. sleep in

2. go to the DMV and finally change my address. I do not want any crap on Election Day!

Here's my shameless plug: EVERYONE NEEDS TO REGISTER TO VOTE!

Hey all! I have been MIA since the concert on Tuesday...cause Ms. Drunkety-Drunk-Drunk lost all self control after seeing the mechanical bull they set up in front of the stage...and the nice bartender bringing a bottle of JD to me while I was singing...(and me swigging it, it looked cool) and oh, playing for as many free drinks as we wanted.

I rode the bull twice.

And danced to Sweet Home Alabama like I was on crack.

And then there was this guitar playing French dude...

But I did manage to get home before 4, where the others stayed way longer and did much naughtier things than I, so where's my gold star? Oh, it's probably drowned in 5 shots of whisky, 3 shots of vodka, 2 beers (the cals!) and 3 whisky lemons.

Needless to say, I still exercised the next morning. BUT MY SCALE SAID I GAINED .700 grams THIS MORNING! The after effects of going WAY overboard are staying with me. YUK

So I'm detoxing with gallons of tea.

Also, my wonderful husband is here from Dubai, Miesha I LOVE DUBAI! I was there in August and I tottally fell for it. The food is amazing, the people are some of the nicest I've ever encountered, and it's crazy with all the buildings. They treated my daughter like a princess.

So...CONFESSION TIME: Since TUE,  I have not logged in my calories. But I have been counting them in my head and have not succumbed to ANY sweets or fried yummy things...Until last night, when we took the baby phone and went to the Italian place next door. We had red wine and split an Anti-pasti plate with 5 different cheeses of the most AMAZING quality and tomatoes in olive oil...and bread. at 11 pm! Blah. But to be fair to myself, I had only 1200 cals by the time we went out, and we split the plate for one person. But I know the cal count in cheese...Oh well, he's leaving Sunday, so I count that as my cheat. Until tomorrow when I go out with the boys..and they buy me single malt scotch because they love me.

Thanks for letting me get this out to you guys! On a good note, I started this new exercise routine called t-tapp, and I love it. Shizz, go to either youtube or t-tapp.com and download and do a couple of the exercises and tell me what  you think. It rebuilds muscle, so the scale doesn''t move, but it shaves inches off in like a week. So weird, but you feel amazing. Do the Hoe downs, and the Twist and then tell me your metabolism doesn't do anything! It's a combo of dance, yoga, pilates and aerobics.

Laura, I go to a rockabilly night tomorrow with the boys, and everyone here is very strict on making sure all clothing is before 1956 or something. They get pretty nuts about it. My chickpea pesto recipe:

1 can of chickpeas, rinsed and drained      &n bsp;        ;       &n bsp;        ;       &n bsp;        ;       &n bsp;

1 bunch of cilantro and or basil, whatever herb you want

5 cloves garlic

10-15 almonds or whatever nuts you want

3 tbsp Olive Oil

160 grams arugula

Salt, pepper, I also use a tbsp of bouillon

Mix in blender and use however you want! I put a little on Salmon, and on whole wheat pasta. The garlic is REALLY stinky but yummy and you eat less when it's nicely spiced.

So this is WAY LONG, sorry if I bored anyone! HI new members. Check in on Monday for my weigh in......................

I'm only down 1.1 measley pound from Monday morning to Friday morning!! But that's better than gaining or not losing at all.

Ofeila, Daaaarling. YOu must always log!!!!! Even if you write them down. It always helps when you can look at the things you've taking in for the day. Hey, sounds like you had a gooooooood time girl, as hard as you been going with this weight loss thing, you more than deserve it.  Sweet hom alabama, the kid rock version? I didn't even know that dude could sing until that song. I hope you swigged some jack daniels down form your old Brooklyn girl over here. But atleast you are back on track!!!!

Hello

I had a good weekend but REALLY blew it again. I have vowed to have a saintly week with plenty of exercise and home made low-cal soups!

I have decided not to weigh myself until next week, Ive been weighing myself far too much recently and have been getting too involved with the fluctuations etc. I dont want to become too obsessed with the daily number! I will weigh in next wednesday.

Ofelia- Sounds like you had a fab time. I can think of nothing better than riding a mechanical bull weilding a bottle of JD! I consumed so much alcohol on saturday I am too ashamed to even write it on here!!! And the Rockabilly night sounds great, they have the occasional one here and there is a good scene. Everyone always looks sooo amazing! Oh and the recipe looks good, but I dont know what arugula is??? (is it in replacement of tahini?)

meisha Well done to you! Any loss is good (ha, I sound like a weight watchers leader there) but seriously, as long as its going down you should be proud :o)

well, i suppose I should start work now. I hate monday mornings!

Monday, Monday, Monday...

Well I accomplished my Saturday goal by sleeping the day away! I counted on Saturday a little less than 1400 BUT 500 of those calories were COOKIES! The Nestle Tollhouse pull aparts...mmm mmm good! Sunday was much better - I didn't count but I also really didn't eat 3 cookies either.

I did no exercise on Saturday and about 10 minutes of a crunches video.

This morning I met my coworker at the gym - 60min of cardio and about 35 minutes of weights.

Meish, I checked out your TAPS and I am sooo not coordinated enough to do that...maybe next month! Congrats on the 1.1 lb - it's something in the right direction!

I'm a firm believer that EVERYONE needs to ride the bull at least once! Nice party Ofelia.

This morning at the gym I switched my routine back to 5min warm up on this  stairmaster/elliptical torture machine, 30 min regular elliptical and 25 min treadmill and LO AND BEHOLD I ran. I've always hated running (my boobs are way too big to run) but I decided to try. So I did 2 min walking, 1 min run, 2 min walking, 1 min run and it FELT great!

LMAO at the boobs comment!! I have a similar problem- if I break into a mere trot I run the risk of giving myself a black eye!!!

So, I was back with my ex yesterday this evening. I couldn't help myself!!!! We were in the movies and before you know it I had his long lanky self in my hands then  in my mouth. GET your minds out the gutter, I'm back on twizzlers again!!!!! Once again I've managed to pull another package of twizzlers out of the candy box my daughter is selling for school-- correction that I end up selling. This is her fifth box- Hershey's with/wout almonds, kit kats, twizzlers, resses peanubutter cups and resses pieces- 9 a piece. That's 54 freakin pieces of candy per box this child has been bringing home for me to sell. So for me to eat three out of the 270 packages of candy I have sold isn't sooo bad. I decided to be proactive and take the little package with 8 twizzlers with me to the movies instead of inhaling the huge package of 18 that are twice as long. And yes, I finish the entire package.  That was 240 calories, but I still managed to remain a 100 calories less than the website suggested 1850.

How does anyone who posts in this thread manage to survive on 1600 calories a day with out eating berries and branches, do tell! I can easily inhale 1600  calories per meal-- but I don't. I'm finding my food choices for the day are becoming drab and boooring. I generaly stay between 1600 to 1700.

Shizzi- I have to do something to get this weight off. Working out hasn't seemed to help as much as I tought. That's why I started this calorie counting thing. I bust my badonka donk in the gym and have yet to see results. Anywho, hopefully Friday, I will see better results. I only weighed twice last week because I was switching my weigh in day from Monday to Friday. Good for you with the running. I just switched gym routine as well 30 minutes elliptical, one high impact aerobics class and 45 minutes of weights 4 days a week (if I don't do weights I take a second aerobics class.)

Laura- I guess you're right. Some weight loss is better than gaining. I'm hangin in there. Speaking of hangin in there. I'm also doing several weight excersices to keep the boobs up. Fortunately, at 36 yrs. old with an 11 year old kid, my tah tahs are still sitting in the upper mezzanine if you know what I mean. I wear a granny bra, under the sports bra (which is are purposely a size too small) to try to keep myself from getting a black eye.

I don't know if it's too late to join this group or even how to go about doing it, because this will be my first time.  Anyway... here goes:

Height: 5'9"

SW:  262

CW: 247

GW: 170

I am 32 and a single mom (son is 2 1/2).  I work full time and go to school full time, so my focus is more on reducing calories than exercising right now, simply for lack of time.

I lost 55 pounds in 2008 between January and July.  By Christmas, I had gained it all back plus 7 pounds.

I am NOT ready to be this size (or bigger) for the rest of my life.  I do much better when I am accountable to someone, so hopefully belonging to some sort of group will help me.  BTW, I weigh in on Friday mornings and update my progress then.

Well, I had a fun weekend... but not such a great weekend for my diet!  I went home and basically binged all day Friday, most of Saturday, and then I had some pizza on Sunday... But I am proud of myself because I went to my favorite restaraunt on Saturday and I only ate half of the meal!  Typically I can and do eat the whole thing, so at least I had some restraint.  And I only had two slices of pizza on Sunday, so I guess that could've been worse, too.

I didn't exercise Friday or Saturday, but last night I went out and walked two miles again, so I felt a little better.  I weighed myself at my parents' house on Saturday night and got 197 on their scale (it's one of the ones like they have at the doctor's office) and today I bought myself an electronic scale and it said 195.  I haven't actually lost two pounds though; that's undoubtly just the difference between the scales!

I'm hoping to get back on track this week.  I've done pretty well so far today.  My problem is salt!  I can ignore ice cream and cake but potato chips get me every time!

Hope everyone's having a good Monday!

OK! I logged in..thanks Miesha for the kick in my fat pants.  I was surprised too, 'cause today I felt like I totally cheated, but I was still under 1700! Cool beans. On Saturday I went out with the boys...my husband was leaving for the airport at 4:30 am so I set my phone to 4. No JD this time, but plenty of single malts and beer. My hangover was so not worth it...but I still worked out for half hour. I told myself that he doesn't come back till November, so I should sorta live it up and I had fun. Plus I weighed myself and last week I didn't gain, I maintained which I guess is ok...but now it's back to work! I gotta get on the elliptical now.

I think it's funny that almost all of our goal weight is 180. We should be the 180 loud mouth tall girl drinking club.

I'm glad y'all had a great weekend. Laura, arugula, also known as ruccola is a type of lettuce. I also use feldsalat (german) in English I think it's Valerianella - Corn Salad, Feldsalat, Lamb's Lettuce, or Mache. Pick one of these! It only grows in Europe, so I'm sure you get it. Arugula is the American term, here in Germany and Italy it's ruccola...and I think Jamie Oliver uses it a lot so you can get it!

On Saturday I went again to the farmer's market and I made an amazing pasta with baby octopus and new garlic and white wine. And Sunday I made Scottish wild salmon. Today I made little lamb chops with string beans and carrots, and marinated duck breast with hoisin sauce (only 40 cals per Tbsp) to go in a romaine lettuce wrap for tomorrow's lunch.

If you couldn't tell, I'm a major food freak. Hence why I'm here. But everything above was under a 300 cal meal, so I guess it's in the portions...

Miesha, if I had that much candy in the house it would be GONE.

Shizz, you ran! I haven't run since High School. I used to be on the basketball team and weight training and track team. Then I discovered boys. The boob problem is hard, especially when you've had a kid...I am so getting a breast lift when I have the cash.

Have a great rest of Monday!

Hey Meish, I eat about 1500/day:

breakfast - 2packs of oatmeal - 320

snack - yogurt -160

lunch - always under 400 (tuna/pita/hummus/baby carrots or tvdinner or soup/salad ect)

snack - string cheese and apple/orange or banana - 180

dinner - always under 400 (lunch or 3-6oz of chicken, broccoli, salad ect)

snack - depends where I'm at for the day, always less than 200 calories, maybe a weight watchers bar (130), or a 100cal pack...

Just an idea of how my day looks, oh and I'm almost ALWAYS eating...Also, let me know about those boobie exercises. I also wear multiple bras to workout...

Hi Sara, welcome to the group! We've got some great girls here :)

Hey Sasquatch, just a heads up: cheese pizza is the way to go. If you skip the meat toppings you're basically at 200cals/slice. Also, I just bought some new weight watchers ice cream bars and they are WONDERFUL. they let you have your ice cream without the guilt ;)

Ofelia, that's it! You are just having too much fun! I've decided if I can maintain under 200 for 6 months I will get a boob lift as well. It really sucks that after losing so much weight and making a HUGE accomplishment so many of us will need augmentations done :(

Everyone have a good night!

Hi all, I am new to CC, and seeing a forum for tall people is my cup of tea! I a desperate to lose at least another 10 lbs before I leave for Mexico on Oct 17, so any inspirational help is truly appreciated! Here are my stats:

Age - 47

Height - 5'-10"

SW(Sept 14/08) - 218

CW(Sept 29/08) - 210

GW - 160

I have managed to lose these 8 lbs doing Atkins, but what I really think helped me turn the corner was cutting waaaaay down on my wine intake! Sigh - I really do like my wine!!! (insert whine here ;-) I was down to my previous GW of 160 7 years ago thru Weight Watchers, but over the years it has slowly creeped back up, and man, is it alot harder to lose as you get older!

It's great to have this forum to be able to share and get inspired byothers!

Gooood morning

Welcome to saraha and holababy! I hope you'll find this group helpful- it seems that all of us are determined but still have fun and a laugh! I think that is important.

Well I'm already feeling much better this week- after last weeks hormone hell!! I think the scale-ban is contributiong too. I cant beat myself up over one pound fluctuations.

I made a delicious meal last night which I will either post the recipe on here or on my blog when I've worked out the total cals. Its for oriental soup noodles (and you can basically eat a bowl big enough to swim in) and its under 400 cals.

Ofelia I know what to get now when you said lambs lettuce. I will definitely be trying out your recipe as I am a pesto and garlic fiend but am always weary of the cal & fat content. I have a nice swordfish steak that is crying out for a pesto crust!

Meish and shizzi I tend to stick to around 1500 cals a day too. I used to eat more but as I was dieting for so long my body stopped losing on 1700 and got used to the amount, so I had to lower it. I dont get hungry though.

I hope everyone has a good day!

Ok here we go:

Oriental Soup Noodles

Udon noodles      &n bsp;        ;       &n bsp;    210 cals 150g
Crab/seafood sticks X4     & nbsp;    60 cals
Carrot (1 small)      &nb sp;                21 cals
Mushrooms X4 medium      &nb sp;    12 cals
Watercress (large handful)    3 cals
Chilli pepper X1       & nbsp;      &nbs p;        3 Cals
Spring onion X2       & nbsp;      &nbs p;        10 Cals

For the broth

Water
sugar 1tsp        ;       &n bsp;        ;       &n bsp; 16 Cals
Oyster Sauce 2tbsp      &nbs p;       & nbsp; 18 Cals
Soy sauce 2tbsp      &nbs p;       & nbsp;       16 Cals
sesame oil (few drops)      &nb sp;    15 Cals
Shaosing wine/sherry/mirin  25 Cals (to taste-1tbsp)

Total calories 409!!!

The measurements are generally to taste, add more or less of the ingredients to suit your taste.

Boil a large pan of water, add all the liquid ingredients and simmer to infuse. Add sugar/honey to sweeten slightly and fresh chilli/chilli flakes to add a good kick. Add thinly sliced carrot and spring onions to the pan and simmer for 5 mins. Add the udon noodles and musrooms and simmer until cooked.

Serve in a large bowl and garnish with shredded crab/seafood sticks and plently of watercress. Enjoy!

N.B- Is good with poached chicken or large prawns.

Hey Ladies:

Well I haven't found a comfortable spot for calorie intake as yet. The CC suggestion of 1850 seems like an awful lot. But I do burn more calories than most because I'm like a dang crack head working out like there's a vial haning in front to the elliptical machine. I'm not losing enough. I work out like crazy and am watching my calories. So I decided to take the calorie intake down to 1600. I'm going to see what the scale looks like this Friday.

ShizziWHICH Weight Watchers ICE CREAM, giiiiirllllll I love the english toffee bars (110 per bar) and the oreo cookies bars (140) Love them. As for weights for the tah tahs I do chest press, flys, push ups and I use a free weight over the head and pull it down to my chest while laying on my back.

Laura-I'm looking for some new variety in my daily menu. Perhaps, I will try the soup noodles. I despise mushrooms, though.  How did you lose all that weight?!!!! I just read your stats, that's wonderful. Congrats!!! And here I am struggling to lose 50 freakin pounds. I'm going to SCREEEEEAM!!! Whyyyyyyy, isn't it coming off. OKay, I'm done with my tantrum. Now, give me the secret, Laura. LOL
