Another Tall Club- 5'9" + 50-70 pounds to lose (Now ANY amount to lose)
Hello all
I know there are already a few tall clubs going out there, but are already quite established, so I decided to start a fresh one!

Im a 25 year old female, my stats are:
Height: 6 Foot 1
SW: 330
CW: 195
GW:175-180
Starting BMI: 44
Current BMI: 25.6
If there is anyone out there who has similar stats/targets please feel to use this group to rant, share losses and sucess stories. This group was originally for people with 50-70 to lose but I have adjusted it as everyone is doing so well!!! Now anyone tall with weight to lose can join![]()
Laura! I totally forgot about Udon noodles. Love them! Your recipe sounds great. I did an hour workout today getting ready for weigh in tomorrow...Tonight I took Romaine letttuce leaves and my duck breast and hoisin, and used the lettuce instead of a tortilla. It was really good and really filling and low cal. I'm really trying to eat high carbs for breakfast, medium lunch, and complex carbs with lean protein for dinner.
I HATE that rice has so many cals! I love brown rice! I made a veggie red curry today, and instead of coconut milk I used nonfat yougurt and the 200 gram serving was like 70 cals...and then I entered the brown rice. Yuk.
I try to eat between 1400 and 1600 on my good days and my cheat days 1700-1800.

Meisha...ARE YOU SURE YOU ARE NOT JUST GAINING MUSCLE??? It sounds like you didn't have a lot of muscle before, so your body is converting it and that is not going to make the scale move down for awhile. Instead of the scale, did you measure your inches? I would go by that if I were you, becuase it sounds like you are really putting in the hours at the gym.
Hi all. You seem to be a fairly new group. I am just starting to count my calories. I am going about this in a non conventional way to get me jump started. I am using HCG. I will lose quick but will need to maintain and could use some good support when that happens. Right now I can only eat 500 calories and am learning alot about my cravings and will power. Hope it is okay if I jump in here.

Losin Welcome. What's HCG?
Meisha- I love that song....HCG is an injected hormone. I can explain it best by comparing it to a bear sleeping through the winter. Bears naturally produce the hormone to eat the fat and allow the bear to stay alive with little or no calorie intake. It was just approved by the FDA but has been around since the 1930's in europe. You lose 1-2 LBS a day and you do this for 6 weeks then you can choose to stop the program and start a low carb diet to keep losing and maintain. Alot of people find it unhealthy but I am doing it under the strict watch of a doctor. Not the best for everyone but I needed something to get me jump started. This site helps me track my eating but does not like that I am only eating 500 calories a day. LOL Thanks for the warm welcome.

I had a bad night last night (too much pizza) and tonight I had such a hellish day I made two of my coworkers go have a drink with me and by "a" I mean 3. I did stick to vodka and soda but I also ate quesidillas and sliders....
The scale is of course still stuck. I had a good workout this morning so that's something...
Anyone have tips for getting the scale to move DOWN and on making better choices when eating out? I almost feel like I just shouldn't because I just can't handle it :(
Losin- SHUT UP!!! what rock have I been living under. I thought I knew all the cutting edge weight loss advances. Well good luck with that. My scale is stuck on stupid if you know what I mean but I'm still trying. Let me know how that goes.
Shizzi- Well I just came in from a day of eating. Last night I had one slice of pizza gestimated at 300 calories, but I sitll managed to stay between 16 and 1700 plus I busted my ashton kisser if you know what I mean. I went out this evening, but starved my self earlier today (which I know is wrong) but I only ate an apple and cereal bar which totaled 250 calories AND THEN I HIT the gym, AND low and behold 6 to 7 hours later I was at Applebees--heyyyy. I ate grilled Salmon, with two helpings of vegetables (instead of the rice pilaf) I had two tanqueray and tonics (150 calories a piece) and two buffalo wings. That totaled 1352 calories for the day. So you know I came home and had weight watchers ice cream, Shizz. As for my scale it's been stuck on stupid!!!!! and I have been breakin my kneck and a big sweat (I can barely keep a hair do. I have so much hair and that's where i sweat the most it smells like a freakin MOP. Gross, but I have to get my work out on.) So I know how you feel but I don't know what t od o about it. Let's see what the scale does this week.

You would think that having a husband who is at college to be a personal trainer would make it easier but trust me it doesn't - in fact you feel even more quilty for little mistakes and then eat more rubbish because you want to feel better from feeling guilty! LOL

Donna I totally empathise with the emotional eating and stress. If I'm stressed I will either lose my appetite completely or stuff myself silly! I'm trying to focus on relieving stress through exercise, and find that listening to some damn good rock whilst doing it helps!
You won't hear from me until monday now- as I'm off work for a few days and dont currently have internet access at home. I hope you all have good weekends. :o)

Just got my Halloween costume and tried it on (at work) and it's AWESOME. My 2 girlfriends and I are going to New Orleans (one is turning 25 and since she's the first we had to make it a big deal) and we've decided to all be Snow White.
Dum dum dum: internet sizing is a little different than normal? I dunno, the dress is a little tight and a LOT short. I'm going to have to focus on the legs over the next 27 days...

Meish, I took the advice on here and didn't "diet" as closely the last week, had drinks 2 nights in a row (last night I def got drunk, I can NOT resist champagne...) and I had a BigMac! I do not apologize, it was quite tasty and very skilffully made!

After counting calories and eating 1600 calories of berries and freaking branches I am up 1.1 pound this week. What in the Helman's mayonaise is that about. After I worked out Saturday, Sunday, Tues and Wednesday im up 1.1 pound. Whyyyyyyyyyyyyy. The red carpet did roll out on Tuesday and is due to be finished on Saturday. When you ladies are in the "red" do you tend to gain.
MEISHA! It's okay! Don't worry, every month when TOM (time of month) comes for a visit I gain 3-5lbs. No joke, over night - it goes away pretty quickly though.
Stick with your calorie counting and working out, I repeat: STICK WITH IT! After Tom leaves you'll be fine!
We got a thing going on....MEISHA! It's so normal, WATER WEIGHT babe, promise. Mine is coming sooooon too, so I think I won't weigh in until AFTER. Cause then I will def lose motivation. Shizz is right, overnight the scale can go up by 3-4 pounds but it doesn't mean anything.
As I said before, DON'T let the scale control you, you are working out like a maniac and judge the definition and inches. I thought you were gonna get measured on Thursday. What's the news? Plus, how many calories are you eating? Are you doing heavy lifting, because maybe you should ask that fitness guy about upping your calories, (good ones). Sometimes that helps your body to adjust and to lose faster.

But..I have good news! I'm down 1.1 kilos from last week! I am now 242 pounds! My band totally noticed at practice Wed. then promptly gave me three beers...
But I feel great, and I'm trying not to beat myself up too bad...tonight i went to the corner store to buy catfood and bought a chocolate bar. But I didn't eat it, I cleaned the kitchen instead. I'm trying to be good for Thursday because I know I'm gonna be soooo bad at the concert. The place we're playing has the best burgers in Berlin and I want one!
Have a great weekend, I'm stuck at home, so I need to live vicariously through all y'all's lives...
P.S. What was the reaction to last night's debates? I stayed up till 4.30 AM watching... and then they replayed them at 11 am this morning! ughhh. I keep reading that Palin "won" and I don't feel that way...At risk of getting attacked, I think she's the worst thing to come along in a while. I kept hearing her and thinking.. "One time, in Alaska..." and imagining Allison Hannigan's face in American Pie.
Okay, so out of frustration I fell off the deep end!!!! It was fun doing it I will say that much. I drank friday and Saturday night like an addict I mean I drank like amy whine house!!! I ate cookies, and YESTERDAY I went to a carribean resturaunt and chowed like a cow, can any one say moooo. Shut the front door, if I am going to gain, I'm gaining for a reason. I had appertizers, entree and a fruity drink with an extra shot of 151. I SHOWED my weight gain, right? No guilt, I'm just going to climb back on. I'm sure I ate my calorie allowance for the week at that Jamaican Resturant last night. Now I'm sure I gained twice what I gained on Friday, but atleast it felt good doing it. I didn't even go to the gym but I am back to my senses again. I usually don't binge like that but I felt like I needed to.

Hi all thanks for the warm welcomes. I am still working away at getting to my goal I have stuck to the program and am down 16lbs now. I am pleased. Hope to check in latter. I have been gone and really need to get back in the swing of things.
Sorry that I haven't been around. I'm not sure what's going on with me. I'm still making it to the gym everyday but I'm pretty much just maintiaining because I shove whatever I want into my mouth :(
I drank a lot on Thursday, as in I woke up, with my party dress on and CNN blaring. I may have seen 15 minutes of the debate. So I have one agent whom I "love" and he showed up to go to the party on Thursday so I totally blew off my other coworkers to basically hang out with him the whole night, which isn't SOO bad, but the next day when I was going through the pictures out of the 20 we took, 12 were of me and him...embarassing...not to mention I totally fell down after we got back to my house. I missed a step that was NOT there and the entire contents of my purse went flying everywhere...REALLY embarassing. Nights like that remind me why I don't drink on the regular anymore.
On Saturday, I met up with the CalorieCount DC Group at the zoo, that was fun. And of course I ate a crapload of food :(
Yesterday wasn't too bad, actually yesterday I ate 2058 BUT of the 500 over none of it was "junk". Binging on spinach and grilled chicken can't be THAT bad...
Headed to the gym afterwork and I don't know what to do. Today was NOT a good eating day, in fact I'm shoveling (yes I went there) carrot cake into my mouth as I type...

Seems the scale boycot has worked- I got on this morning after 2 weeks of avoidance and am down to 236. Which is only 2 pounds but I'm thrilled as I have had the plateau from hell!!! One of my goals was to lose 100 pounds by my 25th birthday (which is on the 25th oct) So I'm only 6 pounds away...
Bad news is that after several nasty tests at the hospital it seems likely that I have coeliac disease. I have to wait for a definite diagnosis but it would mean I'd have to completely modify my diet. No gluten. My favourite foods are pasta and bread :o( I suppose if this makes me better then it has to be done.
I made some delicious turkish style kebabs yesterday- much better for you than the type I get from the take-away after the pub! I scored some skinless chicken breasts and liberally rubbed in some "all purpose seasoning " (vague- but it contained paprika, garlic, chilli, cayenne, cumin and herbs) then sprayed with 1 cal olive oil and oven roasted. I stuffed pitta bread with shredded lettuce, carrot, cabbage and peppers and gave a generous dollop of low fat garlic and herb dip. Added the chicken chunks and voila!! A bit of extra chilli/hot sauce works a treat too.
