Hi all!

I was invited to this group because I'm tall :)... I hope it's okay.  I'm 28 years old, 5'9" and about 150 lbs.  I'd like to lose about 5-10 of that, but more than anything I want to get in shape.  I'm lacking a lot of motivation at this point, and it doesn't help that the office I work in is riddled with Halloween canyd this week!  Ugh!

A little about me - I was married about 3 years ago to a guy for about 10 months (he was a total jerk) and everytime a fitness model, celebrity, or any perfectly shaped woman would walk by or come on TV, he'd ask me why I didn't look like that or why I didn't have the desire to.  I'd eat healthy in front of him, but get up in the middle of the night and enjoy food that I'd otherwise be given a hard time about eating.

Now I'm remarried to an amazing guy that loves me for me, and wouldn't ask me to change anything! :)  However, the last year and a half of getting past the jerk and his comments has been difficult.  I haven't developed any severe eating disorders, but me and food have had a rough relationship.  Now that I'm an active member of CC, I see so many posts of women who want to weigh 125 of 130 lbs, and while they're usually a lot shorter than me, I can't help but wish I could get down to being that slim!

Anyway, it's nice to see a group of women who want to be women!  Curves aren't a bad thing, and being healthy is the goal as opposed to becoming a stick figure!

I'll try and skim the posts so I can at least get to know some of you and try to catch up.  Nice to meet you!

MrsD - it's a deal. We KNOW we can do this, let's just do it.I am PRAYING that I can make it back to the gym soon and then I'm totally on board!

Samantha - welcome on board.

My husband wanted us to order out and so I have but this morning for the first time since I was SIXTEEN, I weighed 185!

I'm just telling you all right now that I'm putting half the order in the fridge right at the beginning 'cause I might eat more of it otherwise.

Debbieacog: CONGRATS!!! Keep it up.

Everybody ready for Halloween? I'm excited, it's my 2nd favorite holiday. I kept it under 190 all week long & am really excited about wearing a sexy costume tomorrow night. (Catholic school girl gone really bad) Going out & to some parties, I plan on having an actual dinner before we go out, that way I'm not tempted by all the goodies. Candy & cakes and sweeties are not really my problem, I love chips & dips & cheese, & anything with sourcream makes my mouth water.  And then of course BEER!!!! (Thank God for Budweiser Select 55). Taking my son out to some "trunk or treats" tonight & mysteriously 1/2 his candy will disappear by the time he gets up Sat. morning. (I don't really like it, but I also don't want it in the house to tempt me, I'll take it out & drop it off at one of the parties I go to.) BAD Mommy, I know ;P.

My friend who likes to cook "bad" food (fried, creamed, loaded with unnecessary calories) is comming over again this weekend, but we're going to try something different. Same food cooked different ways, she'll cook for herself & my son, & I'll cook for me. Wish us luck.

EVERYBODY HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!

Debbie - you're going to have to drag us down with you!!!

hhdrgn - my best friend's birthday is Nov 1 so we always party the night before. This year we're bar hopping and POSSIBLY crashing a party. I'm not sure if I want to go to the party cuz a boy from my past has already RSVPed yes that he's going and I know he's not going to flake cuz one of his good friends asked my good friend if this is the same party...thanks Facebook for helping me plan my life...btw last year my friend dressed as a naughty school girl and I actually have pictures of dirty old men totally checking her out. Good luck with that ;)

Sharpie - I went to Forever 21 last night to check out their plus size section and ummmm NOTHING fit decently. I refuse to believe that I'm a size 12 according to the Gap, NY&Co and Calvin Klein but NOT Forever21 - boohoo. I think you need to ship me the red and black dresses...

Knee - last night as I was telling my friend how much better my knee was and that I'll be back in action soon I proceeded to wack it against this counter ledge thing...we'll have to see.

I'm going to drink a ton this weekend. <--- that's me NOT lying to myself. One of my best friends is home from Manhattan (the one I stayed with a few months ago) and so I have to go out with her tonight. Then my "wifey's" birthday is over the weekend. Oh and I went out drinking last night. I know the scale is going to hate me on Monday but I'm prepared for it. As long as I'm UNDER 230 I won't completely flip out.

Have a good weekend, I love yall :)

Hello Everyone. Ps. Late update, I am not preggers. So where my crazy eating came from I have no idea! But I enjoyed it while it lasted and it has taken a vacation. Boo Hoo.

Halloween tomorrow, geeze I cant keep my grabby hands off the candy. Too delicious. I keep it under control, I acutally havent even bought candy yet- oopps. Ill get on that.

Im not a drinker at all, but I have decided I might take a dip into it this weekend. Any good Low cal options? Ill have to google it. I seem to fall asleep after a few drinks so I'll just have to see how this goes.

Am I too late to join?

24 year old female

Height: 5'10

Did pretty good yesterday, a small slip up, but that's not going to happen again! Weighed in @ 198 even this morning, so down a tad. Still plan on another workout, will use light weights today. Planning a menu so I won't stray. We're going to have my beef spaghetti sauce (calories and grams of fat already calculated)with Pasta and some good bread, tossed salad. I plan on "hiding" in our basement "Man Room" and watch horror movies-keeping the lights off upstairs. We didn't even have one Trick-or-Treater last year, so I didn't buy very much candy. And what candy I did, I gave to my husband to hide, mostly from me!

Stocked up on Lean Cuisines yesterday, and am going out to Trader Joe's to get some more of that Cabot's 75% Reduced Fat Cheddar Cheese-it's delish! My husband, and me, too, are hooked on Trader Joe's Black Sourdough Rye Bread, and it's fat free! Have to pick up another loaf of that as well.

Have a great Halloween, keep up the good fight!

Hi Swtpinkpea - I love your SN. You're not too late to join!!! Welcome on board ;)

MrsD - I love your candy defense of hiding in the Man Room. Awesome. I'm going to hit the grocery store tomorrow for HEALTHY options. I feel like we're both back...yes?

Me - weighing in at 225 this morning (with no gym in a week) but I think it's the alcohol dehydrating me. I just have to get through ONE more crazy day/night and then I'm good. I'm praying praying praying that I can workout on Monday.

Everyone be SAFE tonight!

Good luck finding "healthy options" to Halloween Candy, shizzigirl. I don't think there are any, except for sugar-free candy, and where's the fun in that?

And, Yes, We ARE back. Just finished my workout/exercises, about to head to the shower. Took a few minutes to convert a favorite recipe on My Recipes, Curried Chicken and Rice. It's a one-dish meal and it's really good! I usually serve it with Major Grey's Mango Chutney (not low-calorie) and shredded coconut (not low-fat).  But the combo is absolutely fantastic, and I love curried dishes! So, if I plan out my menu with that in mind for dinner, I can probably stay within bounds calorie/grams of fat-wise. I'm sure I could tweak it to lower the grams of fat, but I think I already did a pretty fair job of that. And I could avoid the chutney and coconut, but it just raises the dish to a whole higher level in flavor and it's worth it.

So I went shopping @ Costco, and munched my way through the store-they were handing out samples: 2 chicken nuggles, oven cooked; 2 bites of sliced ham; 2 pieces of bean & Cheese burritos; 1 small cube of Bleu Cheese, the same for the Cheddar; slice of cucumber with something on it (tasted good); paper cup of 3 tortilla strips with some kind of tomato-bean salsa(?); 1/3 of a cream puff (OMG-they're so good!) and a tiny cheese tortellini. Hmm, came home and had my albacore with  low-fat mayo sandwich and tomato soup.  No way can I figure out how many calories and grams of fat I consumed at good old Costco.  I don't usually go there on the weekend, for that very reason-samples. They don't do it Monday through Friday. Not that I've seen.

No booze today, at least there's that.

MrsD- We have costco here in the UK too and I love it!! And yes, love the free samples too :o)

Samantha & swtpinkpea- Welcome! This group is always open, and it's never too late. Good luck with your journey and keep us informed of your progress.

Tannis- I pretty much always stick to vodka and diet coke, but also have a penchant for the wine! The best options are white spirits (rum, gin, vodka) and diet mixers. I think a vodka and diet coke is 100 Cals.

Halloween- I'm not doing anything, I was invited to a party but I'm giving it a miss as I drank a little too much last night. I had quite a lot of wine and ate at an indian restaurant. It was yummy but soooo many cals!!! I intended to stick to a grilled meat platter and salad but ended up having 4 different types of curry, rice and naan bread!!! We all picked something and shared.

Aside from the curry indulgence, I have been eating well and doing a LOT of walking. I'm going to brave the gym tommorrow and get some cardio in.

Have a great Halloween!

Thanks Shizzigirl!

6'3

My weight now is 172

My goal weight is 158

And I wanna get there somewhere between March and June. So that's 14 pounds all together.

I've been 158 before but because of 3 months of binging I'm back to where I started.Cry Binging because of emotional problems which seem to be sloved now.

btw,I know I'm not fat but being 158 made me feel so good ,and it was something I could maintain. I mean I could eat 2000 calories without exercising and not gain a pound. But like I said...the binging....

So my plan is to eat 1500 calories without exercise and 2000 calories with exercise 6days a week. Allowing me 1 day of calorie maintenance.

That's my place for tmr, because I totally blew it today. But I'll let that go. It's a new month, therefore a new start,so lets make this month better than the last, ladies.;)

btw,how many calories do you eat when dieting.without the exercise that is.

I'm very proud of myself, whole day yesterday, and didn't drink ANY alcohol! Woke up refreshed and feeling great. Plan to make that a permanent decision. I'd rather drinking be the exception, rather than the norm.  May sound pretty pathetic to many of you, but it crept up on me, insidiously, and I really didn't like me that way. Feels good to be able to change that.

Weighed in @ 197.4, which makes me even prouder-despite the Costco indulgence, I managed to drop a bit of weight.  Last night, I was tempted to nibble, but with my resolve intact-and not influenced by a "buzz"-I stuck to my guns, and didn't. Picked up the bag of Fun-Size Snickers, turned it over, took a look at the calories and grams of fat, and put it back down.  (I'm grinning, here) I had already logged my calories and grams of fat for the day, a little higher than I'd planned (Thanks, Costco), and knew I couldn't afford to add even a little more of either.

Have a workout planned, menu intact and I'll follow it. Going out to Trader Joe's later on to get my Cabot's 75% Reduced Fat Cheddar Cheese and some more of that Black Sourdough Rye Bread-it's good!

Okay, shizzigirl, I got MY game on. How about you?

Well MrsD, I drank a lot. No candy but I drank myself silly. The alcohol has dehydrated me so much I weighed in at 225. I am hoping hoping hoping I'll be good for the gym tomorrow. I figure no treadmill, just elliptical...we shall see. As far as candy goes I also "just said no". At one point my friend and I ended up sharing a cab with these guys (5 guys and us in one cab) and one of them had a TON of candy. Not even Halloween candy but actual bars he'd just bought. So he's pulling out all of this candy and everyone's chowing down but not me!!! I settled for the gum :)

I am very discouraged.  After 2 weeks of eating clean food, I was down 8.5 pounds.  The next week...nothing!  Nada.  Zero.  How can that happen?  So of course I got pissed off and figured I might as well eat Krispy Kremes if I damn well wanted them!  ha ha.  I am not eating over my calories at all, burning 2000-2500 cals per week on walking or other cardio, and am not losing the past 2 weeks.

I am NOT HAPPY about any of this!  Whaaaaa!Yell

Hello Ladies :)

Did everyone have a delicious Halloween? I sure did ! I ate tons of candy, and I feel no guilt. . . . which is odd!

Mrs.D- I love costco. I can walk in hungry and leave feeling fuller than full. You sound like an amazing cook. I have so many spices, and no idea what is good for what. Maybe next time I feel like being a mini chef I'll have to ask what would be best to sprinkle on.

Laura- How is the abdomen ? Fully healed, or getting close? What is Naan bread?

Hi Desolatexdevon- Now that's a mouthful! I am close to my goal weight. I somewhat gave up and have just started to eat normally, no watching how many calories, just keeping it as normal as I can. I have been up and down the same 5 pounds for months and months, I too am a Binger. Its a tough battle to overcome. Ill let you know if I'm ever successful for longer than a year.

Salandra- Sometimes when I try a new diet, or style of eating I will lose weight fast in the first few weeks, I'm talking 4 pounds plus a week. Then bam, nothing. I think our bodies get used to it and start to adapt to the change. See if you can switch it up a bit. I also read that sometimes when we maintain our calorie intake our bodies become aware to our pattern and it called to eat well over maintenance to give your body a shock. I am no doctor and definitely not a professional, but this is just a relay on what the book said :)

Tannis,

Thank you...I will try and switch things around, including my exercise.  I just got the Zumba CD's, so will see if that helps.  I was just REALLY frustrated!  But...try, try again.  I'm just so tired of watching what I eat, exercising and STILL WEIGHING OVER 200 POUNDS!!!  How is that possible?????

One of my really good friends' husband was visiting from England (long story) and so I ended up eating a crapton of food last night but I'm weighing in at a solid 226. This week's goal is gym/counting. I actually think oddly enough NO gym last week has helped my body regulate if that makes sense. This is my first Monday morning weighing in 4lbs below 230 in MONTHS so I'm not going to blow it with poor eating this week. We will see 224 on the scale by Saturday morning. Hoo-rah!

Challenge - no reports? I say we start again today. 210 minutes by next Sunday evening ladies!!
