Hello all

Just going to edit the opening post for the Middle of 2009! ![]()
Im a 25 year old female, my stats are:
Height: 6 Foot 1

Current BMI: 25.6
If there is anyone out there who has similar stats/targets please feel to use this group to rant, share losses and sucess stories. This group was originally for people with 50-70 to lose but I have adjusted it as everyone is doing so well!!! Now anyone tall with weight to lose can join![]()
Woop-woop - had a great weekend! Managed to stay on track even though my friend was visiting. Maintained 183 from Fri. thru Sun. (51 lbs lost) It's a major accomplishment for me to not gain a pound or so over the weekend. Seems that upping my exercise a little has helped.
Am struggling with stress/depression associated with my 8 year old son & trying not to let affect my attitude or eating habits. He's a wonderful child, bright, sweet, caring etc. . . He's in third grade this year (a year younger than the rest of his class) and is having a hard time accepting that he's not perfect. (He is to me of course) He is really down on himself & is starting to not like school. Last year he brought home 100's pretty much every day as his daily grade. This year it has been 90-95 with an occasional 100. As far as I'm concerned 90's are awsome. He is also feeling that he is not meeting his teachers standards as far as completing his work is concerned. He's in an advanced math class & is reading on a 5th grade level. The only things that seem to be holding him back at all are handwriting (practice makes perfect) and being too outspoken in class (he always has something to say). I just don't know what to do when my child is sad about something that is either just part of his personality or he just needs time to work on. It's not something I can instantly make better. When he's sad, I'm sad. When I'm sad I want to eat. Not the best example to set for my son.
HH - If I may share something from being that age, and that personality ... my mother was brought in once to a parent-teacher conference and told that I wasn't paying attention in class. My mother's response was, "I'm sure as soon as you have something interesting to say, Debbie will start paying attention!" (I was well ahead of my peers in reading and math so I imagine class was a little boring)... and her later follow-up was sure enough, three years later along about fifth grade I started paying attention. :) Whenever I learned this, it was a big eye-opener to me that my teacher's criticism of me did not affect my mother's opinion of me, that she was for me regardless of the point of view of the teacher (and that the teacher may, in fact, be wrong!). And that continued throughout her life, actually, I was reminded again this past week what a loss it was that she passed away in 2003 - with whom can I share my nice annual review (without it sounding like boasting?!). It sounds like you're that way too. What a great asset it is to a perfectionist child to have a parent that affirms the wonderful uniqueness of that child in any situation - so I just wanted to say, keep up the good work and perhaps you're doing better in these situations than you realize.
Since this is a weight-loss forum I better add I'm up to 189.2 and just now trying to stay below 190 until we go to Bolivia where I always lose weight... and Shizzi, you're right.
Debbie - Thanks. I needed the affirmation. & you can share your nice annual review with us & boast all you want. I always enjoy hearing others good news.
Shizzi - I agree with Debbie you're right. I know myself that I need to amp it up from the way I've been going the last month. I want to be skinnier come NYE. The holidays are not an excuse to let go of goals & resolutions. I'm going to try to look at them as a test. And it's one I have every intention of acing. I will hit 175 lbs by NYE.
i belong in this club! i am 5'9" and my total weight loss goal is set at 61 lbs.
:) yay go tall peeps!
Hey girls!
I am 20-almost 21, and have been struggling with my weight since high school. I got fed up yesterday with myself beacuse my pants are now hard to fit into now I am taking action joined the weight loss community.I think counting calories is easy enough for anyone to do! My stats
Height: 5'10
weight: 195-200
GW:155-160
I am currently studying in Europe and don't have a scale! (oh no!) So I guess no weekly weigh ins (or I need to buy/find a scale asap! But that leaves a problem of converting everything, uhh.) I am hoping to lose the weight by next year. I would love to hear any food/workout tips!
Hey all!
Shizzi- I hear your rant, and I'm totally back on it! We can totally finish this!!
Welcome to letlovewin and rereplayit!
Rereplayit- Where abouts in Europe are you? I am in the UK so we usually weigh ourselves in stones and pounds (14 pounds to a stone) or in Kilos (2.2 pound to a kilo). I have a Weight watchers scale which has a multi-function, so you can weigh yourself in pounds, stones or kilos. Also, it's really easy to convert your weight online.
Me- I am down to 192! All time low :o) The 140 goal is but days away, I can sense it.
1 month until christmas, lets see how many pounds we can drop before then!!
Laura - so glad you're posting again! Let's do it.
MrsD - I hope you had a great night with Geno. I love live music. I also wish you were here so my mother and you could cook together and I could be left in peace while I read trashy romance novels on the couch :-)
ReRe - do it now, while you're still young! What (US) size are you?
HH/Debbie/Laura/Everyone - we're all in it together, let's go!
Me - I went out last night for karaoke to a "local" bar. $2 beer night, any beer, all night. I am HURTING this morning and dehydrated down to 226...
Laurabow,I am studying for the year in Denmark (everything is really expensive here, but good news the Danes eat SUPER healthy!) That's really good to know about the scale. I am going back to the US for Xmas in exactly a month, I was thinking about bringing my scale over, but it would be much easy to buy one here! Where abouts in the UK are you from?
Shizzigirl, I am a US size 14, but having some issues. Idont expect to get down past a size 10. But mostly just want to be healthy! Stop eating all this crap that I am eating.
Everybody - Alright!!!! Sounds like everybody is motivated. I only have 6.2 more lbs to go before I hit my 1st goal of 175. I want it done by NYE. Anyone else have a similar "little" goal they want to attain by the 1st of the year? I figure announcing it here will make me a more accountable & maybe motivate me more.
I probably won't be back online till Monday.
So Good Luck all you Amazon Goddesses! & Work Hard!
Hey All, remember me??
School has been pretty hectic and the holiday season has made my schedule kinda crazy and hence I have not posted in forever!
Nothing really new to report, still have not loss. I have a wedding this weekend, and thanksgiving, so its prob not going to be an ideal weekend, but I'll plan on being good.
Keep it up everyone and I'll make the effort to post more frequently!
