I understand you not wanting to share your salary information... but the point of the thread is to find out what everyone has done for schooling, their salary, and where they live (since it's all relative). But thanks anyway!

Now I find this thread very fishy, if you want the salary amount to be exact.  You're not asking for names, but you're getting into some pretty personal information there.

Well, in your original post, you said you wanted to "get an idea on what people make doing xx job" so I provided a narrow range of where my salary sits.

i'm not sure why this thread would be fishy. all i'm trying to do is see if i make enough money... i don't know who ANY of you are, and personally, don't care either.

I personally don't need exact dollar amounts, such as, oh, I make $37,859.90. I mean, come on, seriously. A fishy thread? Maybe if I was asking for social security numbers, date of births, and mother's maiden names. Until then, please stop hijacking my thread with this zombie stuff!!

You may not need it down to the cent, but you did need it more specific than "$75,000+."

The way you're going about seeing if "you make enough money" is kind of silly, too.  Comparing wages across various occupations like this is useless in that regard, as any decent analyst worth their weight in salt would know.  You need to see how you stack up against other analysts in your field.

No one makes enough money. No matter what the occupation or location.

Wow, this is interesting. About 15 years ago this was my same job title and EXACT same salary. The location, however, was Washington DC. Too bad the pay hasn't gone up at all in the last 15 years!

Then you might try looking at published statistics for your specific area, as wages for most jobs are often influenced by the cost of living, which varies quite a bit across the US.

Even of the only responses you got here on CC were from fellow statistical analysts, a limited survey on a discussion forum isn't going to give you any significant or accurate comparison data.  Just sayin'...

 This is true, too.

I don't know, though...CC could be representative, Santo. :D

thanks santonacci. good website. and i know it's hard to compare a small statistical sample to myself... i think i'm more curious than anything to see what people do for a living and how much they make doing it.

Let me add that this sparked in my mind b/c my best friend told me yesterday that her recently graduated boyfriend got an offer for $62/hour to be an RN at a large hospital in Washington DC... i was like, holy CRAP! so I was just interested to see what other people are doing.

So, what, you're going to run off and go to nursing school, now?  You're a budding actuary; I hear they do well enough.

But...I suppose you'll never make as much as that one registered nurse whose salary was derived from a boasting girlfriend.  That stinks.
