Another YAZ post...sorry guys!
I have never been on birth control before and started exactly one week ago. So far, I have had zero side effects. For those of you all that had trouble with YAZ, how long did it take for side effects to show up?
I am trying to maintain my weight for my wedding and am worried about gaining because my dress is already too small. (my own fault for adding boob padding!)
Thanks!
Maggie
I actually lost weight with Yaz. The type of progesterone in it is actually a diaretic so it makes you pee a ton. The only side effect I have had is it makes my boobs sore right before I get my period. Other than that is has been all good, my skin looks great, I don't so psycho w/ PMS and I barely get a period. Good luck and congrats on your upcoming wedding.
I have nothing but good things to say about it. My period lasts only 3 days and is veryyyyy light. I still get PMS but I think that is just something I do with all the ones i have tried. Haven't experienced breast soreness...nothing...I love it.
I just started my third month and no side effects that I can tell. I started because I had massive mood swings combined with horrible cramps, fatigue and heavy TTOM. My PMS (or PMDD) lasted 2 weeks and made me nuts.
So, I'm loving Yaz.
i love yaz! the only side effect i've had (and I've been on it for about 9 months) is a bit of acne, but my last bc prescription was helping with acne and not with cramps/pms, so I'll take the trade any day.
...and no babies! yay! :P
I've been on YAZ for 3 and half months, and you'll be glad to know that I didn't gain weight. The only side effect I noticed was that it would make my boobs sore, but only mildly. I can't remember exactly when I started noticing this, but it was sometime during the first month.
So you should be ok.
I started with YAZ too and I love it. I've been on for a little over a year. Didn't gain any weight (except a month or so I had BOOBS for once!) and had NO side effects! Most people notice weight loss due to the daily diuretic in each pill.
[The only thing I'd warn you of is to watch if you ever decide to skip the four day placebo break (in order to skip a period). I get major side effects, bloating and mood swings ONLY when I get off track like that.]
CONGRATULATIONS AND ENJOY YOUR WEDDING ![]()
im not on yaz, i think im on yazmin
but its basically the same thing, so far i havnt had any side effects other than getting bigger boobs lmao uhm, ive gained a few pounds but i think thats becuase its finally controlling my hormones, which makes me actually have the metabolism of a woman and not a man lol so i have to get used to EATING LIKE A WOMAN which is hard but im working on it
but uh yea its great dont worry about it
AND CONGRADULATIONS!!!
i have been on YAZ almost a year now, switched due to crazzzzy pms on another pill.
i haven't noticed any weight gain (or loss for that matter) specifically due to the pill. my doctor was VERY adamant that pills now days don't make you gain weight because they have all had hormones adjusted to prevent that, or something. so that kills that excuse i often liked to use for my weight ;)
no other side effects tho, just mellow.
