Well, I don't have any relatives named Athiest or Agnostic, so we cool!

actually i don't eat beef, but then again i don't think ive ever gotten into beef too much on CC either, at least the beef you are beefing about. ive come close occasionally.

or is this like the anti-santa thing?

I stopped eating beef a few months ago, so Im good too.

I'm a Santaist who eats massive amounts of beef.  I'm very offended.

As an omnivore, I cannot promise to stop the beef.

I can, however, promise not to name my child  Atheist or Agnostic.

 I hear too much beef can make you constipated or bitter.

While I won't stop it completely, I'm happy to go veggie for dinner tonight.  But it will be accompanied by a beer.

Good beef cake just makes you hot and tingly.  It is fat free and calorie free but not, alas, drool free.

off topic, what exactly are you collecting in those baggies in your pic? looks like droppings of some sort of animal.

those are drill cuttings  i use them to see and describe the subsurface lithology.

i have the driller collect a shovelful of cuttings every 5 or 10 feet and i put them in whirlpak bags. its handy when i get behind when the drilling goes fast and in case there are any questions later.

that particular water well is in the ogallala aquifer - about the top 100 feet. from my cuttings i write borehole descriptions and present them side-by-side with the well diagram so you can see what lithology is screened in the water well and such.

i.e.

CLAYEY SAND - Light reddish-brown fine to coarse-grained sand with fine gravel (<1/8" dia.) and clay grading to clayey sand with no gravel with increasing depth (coarsening upwards), moist. Lost circulation at 200' (no returns).

that was a decent well - we hit an ogallala channel - produced about 60 gpm.

that picture was taken at the first well me and bf drilled together!!!
