anxiety over flying

I hope this topic fits into this category. I was diagnosed with anxiety disorder which has fed my eating disorder for years.  I was advised to go on medication, but I never wanted to.  So, I continue to lose sleep, lose control of my emotions, and consequently my eating. Presently, it is 1:45 am and I can't sleep becuase my husband is leaving on two trips in the next two weeks.  I don't mind the being apart as we come from a military life and are used to seperation (less than two weeks apart is not big for us).  What is causing me to freak out are the plane flights. I am so worried about him dying in a plane crash that I have been looking up plane crash statistics for about 45 minutes now. So, I know that it is the safest form of transportation, and I know it is far safer than driving, yet still I can't shake the stress and worry that something will happen and I will lose him.  Anyway, I have been to counseling for my anxiety, and I know some techniques, but they don't seem to be working at this time.  So, I thought I would look here for some support. Thanks for reading.
